- I just got the 3rd and final volume of the Hellsing Deluxe Editions and completed reading the manga, so this week, I wanted to review them for you guys as well as give you an inside look of the first Deluxe Edition and the extras in Deluxe Edition 3, including the Crossfire bonus story, commentary from Kohta Hirano, and more!
I also compare the first Hellsing Deluxe Edition to the first individual volume of the Hellsing manga that was also released by Dark Horse, so you can see what’s different about them!

The Deluxe Editions are awesome. I wish more older series would release them that way.
Agreed and that would be awesome! My hopes are highest for Trigun but there are so many more I'd love to see too!
@@AnimeCollective It's funny that you mention Trigun because I have been on an old anime binge and just recently watched Samurai Champloo and am going through Trigun right now. Hahaha. You can't find the manga anywhere!!!
I really wish Rave Master was re-released too. Edens Zero is my favorite series right now from Hiro Mashima, Fairy Tail is easy to find since the series was so popular and it is being collected in a bunch of box sets right now, but his first work, Rave Master is very overlooked.
haha that is a coincidence! Since you mentioned it, now I really want to rewatch Samurai Champloo. And Trigun really is difficult to find! Hoping for a collector's edition to release soon! That would be awesome because Rave Master is one that is also hard to find, but I would love to read some day. I have it on the list, just need to find it or need a re-release like you mentioned!

That would be cool, but it would never happen for more niche mangas. Re-printing something is a risk and they're not going to take a big risk on less popular series.

I know this video is old but recently started getting into Manga thanks to my younger brother. I’m 26 but started December of 2022. So far my favorite series is Berserk due to being a fan of dark fantasy and loving Gut’s journey so far. Still on the deluxe 2. For sure picking up Hellsing next as it sounds crazy. You earned a new sub :-)

Thanks for the detailed review. For the hands, nothing was noticeable in the video. But handling the subject you are talking about can help reduce the second nature thought of what should my hands be doing.

I know it's not a new release, but it'd be really cool if you did an overview of the gundam origin hardcover volumes. I noticed them in some of you videos and I've been thinking about getting them. Keep up with the awesome videos.
Definitely planning to review these in the next few weeks! I have a couple of videos to do before then but will definitely put these up on the list to review asap! I also am working on a more comprehensive Gundam manga video. Still have some OOP ones I'm working on completing, but once I read them all that's something else to look forward to if you are into Gundam!

I really like these hard-cover editions, I picked these up even though I already had the singles.
Although, this was a great chance to publish Hellsing The Dawn for the first time in English, missed opportunity, IMO,
I don't think it is because of not having the rights since they were published in the same magazine, Young King OURs.
Perhaps because it was never finished, who knows.
Would have loved to seen it there though.

Hey! I really love their design and I always love a hardcover release so I really enjoy them. The print quality of them is great. I'll do a review of them on the channel soon but I'm definitely going to be picking all of the Perfect Editions up!

Hey! The Deluxe Editions of Hellsing are not out of print. Just the individual volumes that started releasing back in 2003 of Hellsing are out of print.

I had high hopes for this series. I bought the first deluxe edition due to loving the format (Berserk & BOTI), was also intrigued by the story and art. After reading it, I was extremely disappointed. Imo, the art is very inconsistent, some panels were fantastic, others looked like a child drew them. I felt no connection to the characters, except for Alucard. And he seemed to be a little too invincible. My main issue were the"Nazi" characters, omg were they annoying. If I read "Var" one more time I was going to slam the book into my trash can. So my question is, does it improve in book 2 and 3? Do they get past the whole Nazi "Var" ridiculousness?
Hey! As far as the art goes, I think it gets a lot better. His art definitely has a unique style that I personally enjoy, but it does improve in Deluxe Edition 2 and 3. In regards to the "var" thing, that doesn't really change, because there is one character in particular that says it a lot in the series. The way the accents of some of the characters are written may not be for everyone, but if you can look past it, it has a great story in my opinion and it really develops in 2 and 3. I ended up getting used to this, but I understand that this is something that may not be for everybody.

The blacks are nice and dark but the halftones look washed out.
