Bill's version of "The Dolphin" is beautiful. I sometimes wish Bill would have explored more bossa nova-influenced repertoire during his lifetime. In particular, I believe his harmonic palette and lyrical improvisational lines would have adapted well to that format.
Bossas I don't know but you can find playing "Minha" a song of Rio de Janeiro's composer Francis Hime (all Brazilian musicians don't only play bossa nova !). On the other side Tenório Jr. was influenced by Bill Evans.
a Fender Rhodes is a mechanical piano, hammers strike tines that are.Herbi amplified electrically. There si no electronic piano that can duplicate the sound,as a result all the ones that are still around after 40 yrs are maintained. Herbie Hancock has recorded on them extensively. It's rare to hear Bill E. on one, while comping on acoustic piano.
Bill Evans recorded this easy listening type of album only to get money to satisfy his needs for narcotics. "From Left to Right", "Bill Evans with Orchestra", and "The Vips"are some examples.
@@jean-josemesguen4930 Hi. What I said has no relation to Eça´s Music; I am speaking about why Bill Evans recorded such commercial albums, which are really secondary in his canon. Any biography of Bill attests to this.
The song that plays in my head when I am driving to work to listen to troubled children. To go yet another day and Bill makes it a little easier.
Bill Evans arrangements and compositions are at the same level of Beethoven or Chopin in terms of pure beautiness
Beethoven would agree :)
Composer is Luiz ECA
@@spactick Yes.. sure

Great! But this is the "Before" version. Can anyone post the "After" version, with the flutes harmonizing his solo? Absolutely gorgeous.

is this the only bossa that Bill played?
He recorded "Jazz Samba" (Claus Ogerman) with guitarist Jim Hall in 1966.

that's not al electronic piano - that's an electric piano: there is a very important difference.
hedgeclipper418 what is the difference?

Not true. He loved Luiz Eça's music, and they played four hands, there's a live album.
