      I didn't know him, though I could see he's perfect for the job, his sound on piano is emotionally rich, he was an awesome player. I need to know more about him. Did he disappear? What happened with him?

      As someone said above, this intro surpassed some of ones from Bill Evans himself. Bill and Chet are both legends.

    I like this intro better than the Evans versions I've heard -- the pianist is the late Michel Graillier. His style suits this session perfectly. The more I listen to these tunes, the more I realize this whole thing is just really unreal.

      Chet as with any great legend wouldn't play with hacks, that's for sure. I really like Diane with Paul Bley also.

    I wasn't expecting too much but this blew me away. Great performance from all three. Outstanding players. Love Chet's lyricism and tone here.

      I read somewhere that Chet used a Bach 6A mouthpiece, a hard 'piece to find these days. I was able to obtain a 5A though, and by comparison to the 3C I usually play, it was a whole different sound! It was that Chet sound. It's not *all* the mouthpiece, of course, but if you want to sound like Chet, it would sure help.

      Well obviously it's under Chet Baker's name and he's the soloist so he refers to him. I think that's quite clear.

      Nardis was written by Miles Davis & it first was heard on Portrait of Cannonball. It well known that Bill wrote the two tunes on Kind Of Blue.

    Such a great album smooth lyrical Chet Rassinfosse and Graillier as sympathetic as can be in terrific stone library with perfect acoustics.One of my first jazz CD's after seeing the "Let's Get Lost Movie" and now about 10K more down the line still one of the best
