The Gentleman is free to do what he wishes with his money it is a beautiful system and the man is passionate about music and music replay .....Stop the hating
I meant this as joke but come on! there was infinite blind tests with many so called audiophiles including owner of linn for example some guys from wadia that "should be pros in this and able to recognize smallest difference" and many other forum guys that spend a lot of money on hifi gear and there was always around 50% chance of getting right which leads to conclusion there is no difference in sound, at least not with such short cables... And those cable holders? ahahahahahahah funny shit, tho very good gear, I bet it sound like heaven, but cables are just silly!
Petar Stankovic yeah that looks funny as hell - audiophiles are basically just people with massive ocd and some smart people are milking them like crazy... all you need to check are the laws of physics to see those cables do not make any difference whatsoever////
Yeah.. Well i consider myself something of a light audiophile since i really enjoy great sound more than its normal and getting to know about everything as much as possible... But the fact is that people couldnt recognize with blind tests difference between some amps where one was pioneer 450$ and other was costing 5600$ for example... let alone golden jacks, crystal cables and such nonsense as cable holders so they dont touch the ground
Years ago my older brother and I shared an apartment, ( 1970s), his room was on one side of the livingroom and mine was on the other. I bought a rather expensive stereo system MacIntosh, I would listen to classical orchestra, and some rock on vinyl. A lot of jazz greats too! My brother liked the idea of a fine stereo. He went out and bought a Kenwood setup with a cassette deck. He heard no difference between either system....He was unable to hear any difference between a MM cartridge or a MC one! His speaker cable was the same wire used to connect a lamp to a wall socket. Years later when I was spending 10,000 on a decent system he had a Bose Wave radio which he thought was a giant leap in audio technology. To me the wave radio sounded like two toilet paper tubes with 2 Trojan rubbers as the cones!!! Now I'm sixty and I like a system that I can take with me when I go on vacation. So I have a Shiit Mjolnir, a Shiit Gungnir, a pair of Audeze LCD-3's with left and right balanced cables, a 200.00 dollar USB cable and my Alienware M18X laptop. I bring the B&W PM1's sometimes. I also drink a 80.00 dollar bottle of Scotch instead of a 30.00 bottle because my taste buds are very sensitive. I can pick out all the subtle differences in the whiskeys taste. So in laymans terms some people have a higher sensitivity to subtle differences and others can't tell the difference between two Trojans and a pair of toilet paper tubes. Thats how the world is...what can you do!
Also I have an all analog turntable system with tube pres, so I'm not all just digital. It's just so much easier to pickup and go on vacation with digital over analog!
labdrive Now this: a $1000.00 USB cable sounds exactly like a $200.00 USB cable and/or a $10.00 USB cable, all or either suspended or not by cotton strings, or by little granit pyramids.
Sirflatch you are correct, the Wilsons are MSRP under 200K. Peter Breuninger, Editor AVShowrooms. It's easy to get the prices mixed up with today's super products.
Altough that's very true, it's remarkable how the speakers actually sound more relaxed, yet more detailed than the actual voices speaking in the video. I'm judging this through an M-Audio Delta 44, Musical Fidelity X-Can 2 and an AKG K601. It sure makes me want to listen to this set-up in real life. It seems so lovely!
+Mozart FX For 99.99% of people this system would be over kill and it would make no sense. To have a system anything near to this would also mean that the user would need to have vast engineering knowledge and also an ear to calibrate the sound to special characteristics and then to top it they would need to be using instruments and equipments. And then 99.9999% of people simply would not hear any benefit to the system. A $1000 system is enough.
+Mozart FX believe me you don't need it. it is just an american guys way to show off. like cars and RVs and houses.... i have the best the biggest and be carefull it is the most expensive. the secret in such good sound quality is. Big and good quality speakers, good amp, you can get a vintage techniks or pionneer on ebay. and of course the room where you install your set. must have some sound absorbers and no stuff laying around that can vibrate and make extra noise while the music is playing that's all
+KrishKrusher Thanks captain obvious but i'm pretty sure Zeeadster was referring to the guy in the video who's American. I also don't think there is usually anything pretentious about people who have systems like these because I too have the audio bug and if I were really rich i'd probably have a system like this and I couldn't care less what people think of me or the system. Like another guy here said, systems like this sound so beautiful you can actually have an unexpected emotional response to them.
What a great idea to make videos about the world's greatest audio and video systems. One day, these systems will be gone and even nowadays, not everybody has the chance to visit them in person. So thank you Peter Breuninger for this extraordinary insight!
thanks for digging out this video for me. But I just can't get the spelling of that audio deck maker, it seems the spelling is Renzetti, but that yields www.renzetti.com, which is a fishing co. So what's the name of the co. who makes the wooden A/V deck?
100% correct my friend. I went to one of the North American Shows this past weekend in Chicago. The three best systems that appealed to my ears were a $9K one, a $65k one, and a $40k one. Considering there were ones there that ran well over 200k It was really cool to experience.
Great equip. Really well done. Good there´s also has acoustic panels and bass traps. Cable lifters are awesome !!! The seek for perfection shows in every detail; and together little details make a big difference.
And walking around, and washing machines, traffic etc. Not saying it's a definite 'fix', but there are some companies out there making money selling these to others... (!)
+lizichell2 He’s using Shunyata Dark Field Elevators. I’ve heard them under my friend’s stereo and they significantly improve the sound - lower noise floor, greater dimensionality, and more musicality. Expensive but worth every dollar. But to keep things in perspective, my friend has a $70K system that’s highly resolving. At that level, everything matters - clean electricity, cables, component platforms, room acoustics … great components alone will not produce great sound. Here is a review of the product: www.positive-feedback.com/Issue36/elevators.htm The people who write-off such products have either never heard what they do or have not heard it in conjunction with a high-end system.
LorenzoNW But why would it change the electricity flowing through the speaker cables? Are you saying it has something to do with the earth's magnetic field or something? By the way, there are audiophile systems that have components pretty much on the floor.
Very impressive. Even on youtube I still can hear the details and dynamics of the song. It sounds like a live performance, not from speakers. I could not imagine how it would be to hear it live.
***** Yea, that's true. I just got myself a good DAC and connect it to a pair of studio monitors and a sub. With all the interconnections they cost me only around $600. The sound is still no where near a turntable system but for that price, they sound very good.
Those cable lifters make such a HUGE difference!... Gotta get me some of those... Did you take into consideration the frequency response of the CARPET? It might affect your sound... This is ridiculous. And all that gear to listen to...VINYLS ?!?!?! Is there really nothing else you can blow your money on?
Gosh - sounds like you're living in the microphone at a live performance! Pure musical / audiophile bliss. Wish I could afford more than just to imagine being there!Track is by Anne Bisson for those that are interested!
I know right, Im 29 and i can't hear above 15khz anymore and i love good sound with a passion just like everyone else here. rock concerts are bad ruins our hearing. -.-
What's to understand? it's just separating the power so there is one power supply dedicated to driving one channel of amplification. A stereo power amp might not get even distribution of power as the power supply might not drive two channels equally, especially during loud passages. There are a lot of stereo amps that are designed like a dual monoblock in one chassis. It's always a good idea to have the amps close to the speakers so there is less cable between the amp and speaker.
bighands69 Headphones are ok. They can't recreate the feel of a live music though. Loud speakers can. Headphones can never make you feel bass or the punch in lots of recordings. Headphones also don't do well in creating a sound stage. Sometimes you get this weird "the sound in coming from inside my head" feeling. Speakers can create the illusion of "the band is right in front of me." Nothing beats good speakers in a room.
I noticed why all these high-end class-A amplifiers play music with 2 to 4 different frequencies only, why don't they play music that has all the frequencies and musical instruments. Like rock music.
Reading audiophile articles on 6moons and watching high-end setup videos nonstop for the past 2 weeks. About to play some Jane's Addiction via Pandora on a Logitech Z-2300 plugged into the front panel 3.5mm jack.
Awesome system. I love to watch expensive, very high quality turntables with 2000 stylus, spinning with no record. Probably do not want to get the stylus dusty
The music is not doing the speakers justice at all. Yes, blue mind is a beautiful song, but it does not push ANY audio system. The song could sound great with a cheap sub-500$ setup. Put in some well mixed rock or some classical. Give the speakers some actual work to do. I guarantee the speakers will reward you for it.
+dhruvgrg ALways bring your own music. I demo using system of the down, creed, rhcp etc. If they cant handle the dynamics of those types of bands at high volumes, garbage IMO
+ThorntonHiFi there are no instruments that can represent the delicacy and dynamism of sound heard in the music of artists like amon tobin, bitcrush, eskmo, etc. I'm big into classical and acoustic music but it is significantly easier to reproduce based on the physical limitation of the sound due to the physical parameters of the instrument making it, and microphone recording it. it might seem that acoustic sources are more real and a better test, but it's precisely the opposite. it's because we fail to see the flaws, and can also introduce psychosomatic flaws to the sound, due to the fact that it is sound we are used to and sound that does not push the envelope of the system.
The critical issue here is that there are limits to sound reproduction, there is a point where items are purchased based on theoretical and probably inaudible gains for the extra 100th of a percent, full of gimmicks and tricks (as mentioned) or to show off to friends aka the snob factor. Investment aside, and budget aside I would not want this system in particular and would far sooner go for a high efficiency full range driver and tube amp combination, which to me sounds way better! This is not about envy, on the contrary, it is about drawing a line between sanity and insanity and understanding that there are limits, and at the high-fidelity limit it is then about direction and tonal characteristics which are a matter of taste. One has to feel sorry for this chap at the end of the day, two good heavy books can flatten a record and a good brush can be used to clean your LPs, there is so much snake oil in that room, it just feels like a great salesman has totally ripped this guy off...
MrRugDoctor78 Actually I shoot 4K for a living so yes it does exist and is available. And you actually get your bang for your buck with visual systems because seeing is believing. Hearing is what you WANT to hear, your brain handles hearing very different than your sense of vision. Your ears are lied to much easier.
Never seen so much "black magic" of audio in one room... wires lifted off the ground, LOL. Whatever makes you feel better! Hillarious! Im sure it sounds great though
You can totally tell as he's describing each component that he has no real idea what anything is. He sounds like he is reciting back the same info that was recited to him by his installer just before the installer bend him over his diamond studded turntable and took him from behind.
It would sound like the cleanest personal concert you ever heard. It's outrageous the lengths he went to get it, but you wouldn't walk in there and think "no big deal". As you sit here playing a compressed streaming video over your computer speakers or headphones shaking your head, you have to realize how different that room sound actually is.
oh no, i dont see anything for treating the air that the sound travels through. the changing pressure waves and ions are effecting the sound .....iv got an idea,go to home depot and get one of those air treatment boxes and resell it as an audiophile gizmo for 100 times the price .....also cut the power cord off, re-sleeve it and sell it separate for $1000.........lol
See all those cylinders around the perimeter.......That's the acoustic complment to the setup.. The setup erases the acoustic signature of the bare listening room and simultaneously replaces it with a neutral, expansive ambient acoustic presence . TubeTraps are broadband bass traps with built-in adjustable treble absorption/diffusion Art Noxon, ASC TubeTraps
I think in super Hi-End room shouldn't be any furniture like LP's rack, book's shelf, glass table or commode, except soft sofa or armchair in the middle of room, because you don't want to have unsymmetrical sound, different sound reflections from left and right sides. Also, all amplifiers, preamplifiers, CD/DVD players, DACs, turntables and other stuff should be in a separate room, in best case behind front wall, because low frequencies of speakers can impact work of transformers, coils, motors and playing vinyl surface.
Yes, and the listener should be in another place to prevent disturbing sound waves. He could listen through the ( closed ) door. Or a slim listener lying on the floor or better under the carpet ?
You flat out, can not build a system for $3k, and think that is as good as it gets. The discrete components it's built with (transformers, resistors, caps, etc.) are of much lower grade. The build quality also matters. I have had a very wisely chosen $3k system....sounded decent.....not even close to my very wisely chosen $50k rig. For what it's worth, I have a degree in electronics, with years of professional experience....
mechdude1 Are you talking about sound quality or how long it lasts? If you have a degree in electronics you can't honestly believe that spending $130,000 on amplification is in any sense worth it as far as sound quality goes. Anyway, $2500 for the speakers and $500 for everything else could equal this system. This guy just likes to burn money to remind himself that he has money to burn.
Ester Samuels Sound quality (but build quality effects how long it lasts also a great deal). $130k on amps...I'd pay off my mortgage instead. You said, "$2500 for the speakers and $500 for everything else could equal this system."...sorry, but it's just not true. I have a very well chosen $50k stereo rig (got most of it used on Audiogon, for about $25k total). I also have a well chosen $10k workout system. I gave my 22 yr old daughter a well chosen $3k stereo rig. Each system kills the cheaper system. As I stated previously,"a very wisely chosen $3k system....sounded decent", but it doesn't even come close to my big rig. With my big rig, "you are in the recording venue, with a live band". With the $3k system, "you are listening to a nice sounding recording". There is a huge difference. One sounds like the real thing, one does not. For $3k you CAN get a "sliver", or a "taste" of high-end sound, but you ARE NOT getting "the meal". I wish what I'm saying wasn't true, believe me. I have heard a few hundred true high-end rigs ($30k-$750k), and have been an audiophile for 38 years. I would suggest you seek out, a well chosen high-end audio rig (go to an audio show, if you can), and see what it's truly capable of. Be warned....once you get "the bug", there's no turning back...:-)
Does extensive use of carbon fiber & kevlar, make a Ferrari lighter & stronger, and thus accelerate faster/handle better ? Yes, of course. Also, is a $4,000 Stickley Table better than a $200 Walmart one....absolutely YES. TOP Quality of parts, quality of build (skilled craftsmen), and quality of design(skilled engineers), will make for a top sounding unit. You flat out, will not get the same result for cheap $. If an top engineer can command $300k/yr he is very likely much more skilled/experienced, than a 50k/yr engineer. Same goes for assemblers, carpenters, technicians, assembly tools, test tools, etc.. The list is very long, and every one of them critical, for a great sounding product. I have 35 years of soldering experience...Who do you think is better....me or some teen who just learned how a week ago, who makes $7/hour ? It ALL matters...System setup is VERY important also. I've seen plenty of big $ rigs that don't sound good because the rich dude, just threw $, and failed to learn the proper information. I would love to talk to you "live", to help get you started down the right track. You don't have to spend 1/2 million to get great sound, but it does take some money & a fair amount of knowledge....
A lot of the "voodoo" stuff is legit, and there's no reliable way of discerning what's legit and what's not. A bunch of features that yield tiny, basically imperceptible differences in sound quality add up to a large difference in sound quality. So if you've got buckets of cash and want the best sound you can possibly get, you get the best results with a "when in doubt, do it" mentality.
You should go to Germany to see what they are doing over there ! I don't understand why this people spend so much money and are not able to show their results with complex music piece like tchaikovsky's 1821 or a good piece of rock by Led Zep. But always they "Show off" with a simple voice tune .
9:14 Your speaker drive-units are arranged to simulate point source treble & med (by having the two meds on top&bottom of the tweeter). This gives better image. This is why I love 2-way point-source speakers (the image). It's the combination of proper 2-way design and point-source that makes my speakers sound good. I'm obsessed with point-source 2-way. And probably always use them. But you can't tell point-source (or linear-phase) on You Tube, only quality (to a degree). Yours sound good.
It gets to the point where the music becomes second base-these guys need to stop spending and start listening in the real world-obscene amounts of money spent!!!!!!
andy davidson Please enlighten us. At what point should we stop spend money on a stereo? You seem to know all the answers, not only for yourself but for everyone else. By "real world" I assume you're referring to live music. What percentage of everyone's music listening should be live? I really need to know in order to subjugate my personal preferences to align with your sagely advice.
+Larry Benjamin For the vast majority of people $1000 is more than enough. Unless the system is intended for an audience in a large auditorium/theatre all that equipment and power/regulation is just unnecessary. I am sure the system sound amazing but so can a $1000 system in a room that size.
+bighands69 Yes sir, you are absolutely right - a $1000 system is really more than any mere mortal deserves, especially with all the starving children in Ethiopia [no TV until you eat your broccoli]. Personally, I think you’ve understated your point. $1000 will buy two really nice boom boxes. For a LOT less money, this fool in the video could have had a stereo in his bathroom AND his bedroom (with a built-in alarm clock). How cool is that! And if you could please direct all these idiot audiophiles as to what live concerts they should attend, it would be much appreciated. We need more culturally enlightened trolls such as yourself to help in setting our priorities straight since we have no idea how to spend our own money. We keep falling for these shameless, sleazy companies that offer expensive cables and power conditioners. It’s all snake oil. Rock on, dude!
Airmen Ian if you like vinyl better, that's great, good for you, and more power to you. Just be careful not to claim that vinyl is in any way technologically superior or capable of providing more accurate audio (because if you do, it implies ignorance about optical media, vinyl phonographic records, and audio equipment in general). www.magneticmag.com/2012/07/the-myth-of-vinyl-digital-vs-analog-are-we-imagining-things-ben-watt-interviews-buzzin-fly-mastering-engineer-miles-showell/ Of course, if you like the sound of vinyl, that's great. But, it simply _isn't technologically possible_ to show off a high end speaker/amplification setup to its fullest with vinyl. Granted, it's utterly pointless if you are judging a stereo system by watching a video such as this, but it's still something worth noting.
+awesomeferret I read the linked article and thought it was a well-balanced commentary on digital vs. analog. However, the author came to a very different conclusion than you. He basically said that for mid-fi, digital will give you better fidelity. But analog wins in a high-end system. Don’t get me wrong, digital can come very close. In fact, most people never heard digital as good as when I go over to a friend’s house and listened to his system. Everything is optimized - dedicated power, a Furutech GTX-D rhodium wall outlet, carbon fiber faceplate, a Furman IT-Reference 20i power conditioner, HiDiamond power cables, a Chord transport and DAC, Marigo Ultima Signature CD mat, Symposium Rollerblock Series 2+ and Superballs under the transport, Mapleshade Micropoint Heavyfeet under the DAC, 4” Mapleshade platforms below both, and High Fidelity CT-1E interconnects. He also uses a Bedini Hex-Beam Clarifier each time before playing a CD and a Densen DeMagic CD once a week. The end result is jaw-dropping sound. BUT, we both still give the edge to his top of the line VPI turntable and Benz-Micro cartridge. The sound is just a bit more seamless and palpable.
LorenzoNW "analog" doesn't immediately mean vinyl. Digital equipment will always be theoretically (and usually) superior to analog equipment, but there will always be analog equipment that is comparable, if not better than certain digital systems. Also, I think that it's worth pointing out the paradox of the whole "digital vs analog sound" debate. Because there is no such thing as a digital speaker (and most likely, there never will be) no sound is actually "digital". No matter what the sound is generated from, it will always be converted to analog before it even reaches the speakers.
Is the air used in the suspension completely cleaned of particles down to .5 microns? How about the belt? Is it made of vulcanized rubber from a rubber tree's north facing side? I know it sounds trivial but tests have shown this makes a difference to the sound enhancement for certain subterranean amoebas and very specific deep granite rock formation's natural resonance. Also, what is the price for the complete system, including a matching bean bag chair? I was thinking $562.6 million myself, but would like to know what actual retail would be, and do you ship to mars?
I couldnt afford to watch this video
I'd take your money and see/hear the real thing. Nothing can take place of reality.
Yazole, true, but he needs to come home sometime, midas Well bring a little bit of that reality home with him with a system like this.
It would sound horrible without those cable lifters.
+Kevin Sweeney or the little weights on each box....
+happylemon666 😂😂😂
Kevin Sweeney Or a power failure
They are called Coaxial Membrane Suspension Apparatus. If you're going to make fun of us at least get it right.
I think he was making a joke ^^
Very nice..Might be cheaper to just hire a live band for the next 15 years to play in your house lol :)
andy stevenson that's so true mate!
What you want to do is put the band behind a curtain and put some speakers in front of it so you'll think you have a great audio system ---- or maybe you'll think your system sucks!
thats the thing I dont get about people who spend so much money.
what happened to seeing musicians live?
Hahaha this is such a brilliant reply.
Funny... unless you're talking about a total acoustical band, you'll still hear the band out of speakers... those stadium JBLs... if you're lucky.

Totally f*%king ludicrous.
I know, let's build a totally over the top system and then listen to musical garbage!
yup, a lot of snake oil, Not even an accurate system!

Perhaps, but would it be diamond studded? lmfao : )
btw, wonder if he got his interconnects from monoprice??

The thing I sense from most of these comments is ENVY.
sound systems like this equate somewhat like 240p television signals to 4k.You have to hear it in person to appreciate it.

Quite often we make comments like that, because we are jealous.

JazzLicka at his age he is half fukkin deaf
vindicari Depends on what volume he has his system on. You have more young people going deaf in the car going BOOM BOOM BOOM.

JazzLicka and everyone is also equally free to laugh their asses off at this. Frankly I find this hilarious a fuck and can't stop chuckling.
what is the soundtrack in the background? that interests me more :)
Aritra Goswami Music by MA Recordings
***** yeah but whats the song? if you know... I like it too lol
yeah it would be great
+Aritra Goswami I think it's Vlatko Stefanovski & Miroslav Tadic live in Belgrade, great concert!
Yess...thank you for letting me know...amazing piece
This guy is playing music on an audio system for the expressed purpose of appreciating "the system" rather than the music.
Sounds better than live.
Do you listen to Tool?
I envy the room dimensions of 10x20x30. I'll bet the acoustics in that room are outstanding.
Those cables are good only as jumping ropes
hahahahahha lol
But the fact is that people couldnt recognize with blind tests difference between some amps where one was pioneer 450$ and other was costing 5600$ for example... let alone golden jacks, crystal cables and such nonsense as cable holders so they dont touch the ground
actually they also transmit electrical signals well
Holy effin over done !!! My god who needs that much quality damn !!!
***** LOL, very well put Kevin, Kudos
Also I have an all analog turntable system with tube pres, so I'm not all just digital. It's just so much easier to pickup and go on vacation with digital over analog!
If you suspend your $200.00 USB cable off the ground using cotton strings, it will sound like a $1000.00 USB cable. And that is the absolute truth.
Perhaps less sexy: if you suspend a $1000.00 USB cable off the ground using cotton strings, it will sound like a $10 USB cable. Again, absolute truth.
labdrive Now this: a $1000.00 USB cable sounds exactly like a $200.00 USB cable and/or a $10.00 USB cable, all or either suspended or not by cotton strings, or by little granit pyramids.
Impressive system. May I ask why you chose Wilson Audio as your choice of loudspeaker?
Later he upgraded to a Bose. :)
Sirflatch you are correct, the Wilsons are MSRP under 200K.
Peter Breuninger, Editor AVShowrooms. It's easy to get the prices mixed up with today's super products.
I want to hear how it handles decaf.
I checked it out and I can't even afford the blocks that the amps rest on....oh well. Beautiful.
+Mozart FX
For 99.99% of people this system would be over kill and it would make no sense.
+bighands69 Try %98
+Mozart FX believe me you don't need it. it is just an american guys way to show off. like cars and RVs and houses.... i have the best the biggest and be carefull it is the most expensive.
the secret in such good sound quality is. Big and good quality speakers, good amp, you can get a vintage techniks or pionneer on ebay. and of course the room where you install your set. must have some sound absorbers and no stuff laying around that can vibrate and make extra noise while the music is playing that's all
+Zeeadster TV but its not just American guys is it..Every country has audiophiles with insanely music system.
The Emperor and his new clothes have never looked snappier
Gorgeous setup.
Love the Tenors...
I see the train track, where's the train?.................lol
Lol!
This sound system is a work of art.
Can you buy them @ Walmart? :-)
thanks for digging out this video for me. But I just can't get the spelling of that audio deck maker, it seems the spelling is Renzetti, but that yields www.renzetti.com, which is a fishing co. So what's the name of the co. who makes the wooden A/V deck?
i'd like to hear this song on that sound system- Quba & Joanne - Hai Ca Se Poate/Quba - From Romania
haha
Jenant
Is that fire extinguisher?
Judging from how good it sounds on my Hp laptop that system is worth every penny!
100% correct my friend. I went to one of the North American Shows this past weekend in Chicago. The three best systems that appealed to my ears were a $9K one, a $65k one, and a $40k one. Considering there were ones there that ran well over 200k It was really cool to experience.
Amazing! it sounds as good as my laptop speakers
Great equip. Really well done. Good there´s also has acoustic panels and bass traps. Cable lifters are awesome !!!
The seek for perfection shows in every detail; and together little details make a big difference.
Why are the wires held off the floor like that ? Please don't say that it contributes to audio quality or my brain is going to explode.
Basically to reduce vibrations to the interconnects from the floor. Pretty sure it's nothing to do with heat.
Just a gimmick for show. If anyone says different they are talking shit.
And walking around, and washing machines, traffic etc. Not saying it's a definite 'fix', but there are some companies out there making money selling these to others... (!)
guess it's a no smoking room
it's so that the woodlice get the "walking under pylons" vibe
why are the cables suspended off of the floor?
+lizichell2
It's possible that it makes some sort of measurable difference, but there's no way anyone can hear the difference.
+lizichell2 like the entire system the cables being suspended above the floor add to the placebo effect
Here is a review of the product: www.positive-feedback.com/Issue36/elevators.htm
The people who write-off such products have either never heard what they do or have not heard it in conjunction with a high-end system.
+Ester Samuels The audible difference between using and not using the Shunyata Cable Elevators on a high-end system are not at all subtle.
*****
Yea, that's true. I just got myself a good DAC and connect it to a pair of studio monitors and a sub. With all the interconnections they cost me only around $600. The sound is still no where near a turntable system but for that price, they sound very good.
Beautiful. Just finished reading the 9 page long listening room build on 6moons. Good stuff!!
Those cable lifters make such a HUGE difference!...
Gotta get me some of those...
Did you take into consideration the frequency response of the CARPET? It might affect your sound...
This is ridiculous. And all that gear to listen to...VINYLS ?!?!?!
Is there really nothing else you can blow your money on?
carpet - you just gave them an idea ...
JL B LMAO!
Vinyl actually has the best sound
You mean most distorted sound, complete with pops, clicks, crappy frequency response and huge noise floor, right ?
Gosh - sounds like you're living in the microphone at a live performance! Pure musical / audiophile bliss. Wish I could afford more than just to imagine being there!Track is by Anne Bisson for those that are interested!
Impressive as it looks... Those 50 year old ears probably can't hear above 12k anyway.
I wish I could just spend enough time to sit in that room and listen to Steely Dan's Aja with a mojito to sip on. Ahhhhh. Would be nice.
+Wiser InTime
A good CD player and a good headphone set up just sounds amazing.
I would say a good headphone set up could be done from $200 to $100.
bighands69 Headphones are ok.
+bighands69 NO WAY, you will need a bit more than that, try a 1,000 on each, (amp & phones), I wasted lots on buying cheap headphones yrs ago.
Those Tenor monoblocks are gooooorgeous.
11:33
"simply stunning"
LMFAO
Does anyone know the artist playing on the audio track? Amazing system, wish I could hear it up close!
Vlatko Stefanovski & Miroslav Tadic, album "Treta majka"
Thank you so much, peace!
James Nootens You are welcome. Enjoy it! ;)
that guy's getting placebo'd so hard
So where do you plug in your iPod?
antihiidden the scp your spelling.
Justin Williamson you first need to break it then put it together..then suddenly a 3.5 mm port magically appears
About to play some Jane's Addiction via Pandora on a Logitech Z-2300 plugged into the front panel 3.5mm jack.
just get the band to come play at your house instead
The band probably don't use cable lifters so it'll sound worse, LMFAO!
Wow...great setup. A system most of us can only dream about. Sounds excellent...even on my PC and monitor speakers.
Awesome system. I love to watch expensive, very high quality turntables with 2000 stylus, spinning with no record. Probably do not want to get the stylus dusty
Wow!!!Amazing audio set-up.....One of the best...!
you should put some house music
awesome im in nz plinius audio is a home grown brand here , high end brand it sells alongside krell class gear in the states .
Have been trying to find good demos of hifi gear and good majority are demoed with this kind of music :(
+ThorntonHiFi thanks, will check them out!
+534wiseoldwolf only true test of speakers is electronic music whether you like it or not. only way to really push the dynamics to their limit.
I'm big into classical and acoustic music but it is significantly easier to reproduce based on the physical limitation of the sound due to the physical parameters of the instrument making it, and microphone recording it. it might seem that acoustic sources are more real and a better test, but it's precisely the opposite. it's because we fail to see the flaws, and can also introduce psychosomatic flaws to the sound, due to the fact that it is sound we are used to and sound that does not push the envelope of the system.
high-end audio is a sick religion, just look at the way he has bridged up his cables
MrRugDoctor78
Actually I shoot 4K for a living so yes it does exist and is available. And you actually get your bang for your buck with visual systems because seeing is believing. Hearing is what you WANT to hear, your brain handles hearing very different than your sense of vision. Your ears are lied to much easier.
incredible sound quality .
300k worth of sound, all to hear 1 instrument
lol. That's a greate statement. I think the instrument and classes to play it are certainly less than 300 000$.
I will just pay the band and go directly to concert hall
300k would get you the speakers and a ford pickup to haul them home in.
This system looks incredible I've never seen anything like this must sound amazing
Cable lifters!!!!!!! All cred gone out the door.....
great room and lovely set up!
MrRugDoctor78 oh please he writes for 6moons he's constantly being challenged. he knows what he has.
At 6:00 minutes a reference is made to a demagnetiser for vinyl records, am I missing something?
I wouldn't say world's greatest. There is no world's greatest. I could go into this room and think the sound is no big deal. As could anyone else.
It all comes down to the individual and his/hers passion for sound and level of hearing.
Exactly. :D
It would sound like the cleanest personal concert you ever heard. It's outrageous the lengths he went to get it, but you wouldn't walk in there and think "no big deal". As you sit here playing a compressed streaming video over your computer speakers or headphones shaking your head, you have to realize how different that room sound actually is.
mrzisme I'd bring spectrum analyzer and calibrated microphone and prove its nothing special.
ouch
how much is this system roughly ?
More than the figure you probably have in mind, a lot more.
i was thinking a million , i am not stupid with audio , my system cost around 1500 and im still upgrading , im only 17
Well the speakers alone are $220,000 a pair. So at the minimum about as much as a Ferrari 458 Italia.
ok cool :)
More tahn you can afford but millions
oh no, i dont see anything for treating the air that the sound travels through. the changing pressure waves and ions are effecting the sound .....iv got an idea,go to home depot and get one of those air treatment boxes and resell it as an audiophile gizmo for 100 times the price .....also cut the power cord off, re-sleeve it and sell it separate for $1000.........lol
See all those cylinders around the perimeter.......That's the acoustic complment to the setup..
The setup erases the acoustic signature of the bare listening room and
simultaneously replaces it with a neutral, expansive ambient acoustic presence .
TubeTraps are broadband bass traps with built-in adjustable treble absorption/diffusion
Art Noxon, ASC TubeTraps
Someone could put together a system for about $3000 that is just as good as this in terms of sound.
You flat out, can not build a system for $3k, and think that is as good as it gets. The discrete components it's built with
(transformers, resistors, caps, etc.) are of much lower grade.
Be warned....once you get "the bug", there's no turning back...:-)
mechdude1 But what makes the difference in sound? These speakers are made of exotic materials, but that doesn't necessarily improve the sound.
My iPad improved the sound of this system a lot. I literally hear the voice in the middle of my screen. The 2D effect is amazing.
nice... But can it play House music? lol
Seriously like wow..... I'll just sit here with my 2 Klipsch RF-7 II s , svs pb13 sub, McIntosh amps and denon receiver and stare at this masterpiece.
the voodoo is deep with this guy
A lot of the "voodoo" stuff is legit, and there's no reliable way of discerning what's legit and what's not. A bunch of features that yield tiny, basically imperceptible differences in sound quality add up to a large difference in sound quality. So if you've got buckets of cash and want the best sound you can possibly get, you get the best results with a "when in doubt, do it" mentality.
How long does it take to break in those elevated speaker cables?
You should go to Germany to see what they are doing over there !
I don't understand why this people spend so much money and are not able to show their results with complex music piece like tchaikovsky's 1821 or a good piece of rock by Led Zep. But always they "Show off" with a simple voice tune .
I see quite a bit of High End audiophile mystical nonsense in this video. It amazes me that so many people swallow this silliness.
audiophile types make me laugh :D
+Larry Benjamin
For the vast majority of people $1000 is more than enough.
Rock on, dude!
...just a hint of sarcasm? ;)
simply stunning indeed.
Hahaha, you were "testing" out a super high end system by playing a vinyl record? The irony of that is just too amusing.
+awesomeferret you are aware that vinyl is preferred, as the depth and warmth of this analog media of audio is agreed by most to be the best.
Airmen Ian if you like vinyl better, that's great, good for you, and more power to you. Just be careful not to claim that vinyl is in any way technologically superior or capable of providing more accurate audio (because if you do, it implies ignorance about optical media, vinyl phonographic records, and audio equipment in general).
www.magneticmag.com/2012/07/the-myth-of-vinyl-digital-vs-analog-are-we-imagining-things-ben-watt-interviews-buzzin-fly-mastering-engineer-miles-showell/
Of course, if you like the sound of vinyl, that's great. But, it simply _isn't technologically possible_ to show off a high end speaker/amplification setup to its fullest with vinyl. Granted, it's utterly pointless if you are judging a stereo system by watching a video such as this, but it's still something worth noting.
+awesomeferret I see your point. vinyl is definitely not the most accurate
I was thinking $562.6 million myself, but would like to know what actual retail would be, and do you ship to mars?
definitely can't let cables touch the ground, totally ruins the sound.
definitely can hear the noise, LOL
Nice looking system. Definitely can tell that this is a passion that you enjoy.
