You are one righteous dude. I'm just learning to be a Grandpa and decided to sell my Vette and spend the money on New Hobbies "That includes 2yr old Hunter". I got him a Mecedes Benze SUV that is 6volt. its only been one week and he drives by me and says "Faster Bampa, make go faster". After watching you video, I'm already shopping for a new battery.
That is so awesome and I am giving my daughter a power wheel this Christmas and gonna do most of this. Thanks for the great instructional video. Man that jeep can fly.
Thanx bro!!! I just got one (power wheel) for my nephew... And in about 3 months I'll jump his power plant up to 24 v once he gets comfortable with the fundamentals
Watch till the end. This guy sucks at explaining (as do I) but he’s smart and got creative towards the end with the rest of his modifications. Awesome man thanks for the video
wildstyle509 no I don't think so I used a motorcycle battery on my little sister's and it made it go way faster than it should so I'm assuming it don't lol
The motors have a working voltage. Most likely they are 6v to 36 volts... The label may tell you, you could also call the manufacturer and ask them what the working voltage is.
Imagine just cruising on the sidewalk in that thing and you're on 12 volts and when some other kid on a power wheel drives by drop gear to 18 volts XD nice mod!
You almost had me? Yo never had me, you never had your car. Granny shifting not double clutching like you should. Be glad that the 100 shot of NOS didn't blow the welds on the intake. Almost had me?
My friend it is great to see you do a tutorial on the powerwheels. I did all that 23 years ago with a garden tractor battery. Instead of 15 minutes it was over an hour, going from 6V to 12V. And used the tractor tires some how, it was a long time ago but I do remember putting sm. Screws in the plastic wheels for traction on ice and snow
Love the tire-tread idea. I was looking at small tires today, anticipating the "drifting". But, mine has a center rubber tread already. You can also wire the remote part to the 12v only... You just use the wire from between the batteries as the 12v source. One more idea... Get a PWM speed controller that goes from 6v-24v @ 30a/40a. Then you can use two 12v batteries, giving them control of the speed with a dial, or using the foot-pedal. (You can limit the start-voltage and stop voltage, without much effort. It is also easy to quickly half-power, for new or younger riders. You can use a key to lock it out too, or enable it.)
You want traction? Look for traction with hard rubber grommets. The type with washers built in. Known as OD washers They are screwed on to the hard plastic wheels. No Slipping or skidding after you place them evenly along the plastic wheel. Use a hex screw with a power drill... Go no further than your neighborhood Army surplus stores. They have them cheap by the pound. If you don't have one of those where you live. Try the sport section and look for baseball/ softball molded cleat set at these sellers: K-mart , Sears, Target, and (UGH) Wallmart.
I did this with my daughters Power wheel range rover and 4 wheeler. The 4 wheeler I converted to 12 volts from 6 volts and I had to put homemade wheelie bar because it dropped the kids lol it's holding the upgraded voltage. The range rover I upgraded to 24 volts and I had to run with my daughter to keep up with her but it destroyed the gears quickly. That was her favorite up until it broke..... their laughs and smiles are well worth these modifications
That is cool. I changed my sons Power Wheels from 12v to 24v. I also gave the plastic wheels more grip with rubber inner tubes from lawn tractor tires. I later had to upgrade the motors due to overheating. I clocked him with my truck at 28mph. Lots of fun.
KvAt motor smokes internally welds from over-voltage conditions 💞😋 Y'all got to remember it was designed for 12.... Look up the actual specs for that electric motor... Then you can see what you can do to it. Besides that you can always upgrade the motors
Mixing two batteries of different voltages isn't wise. Maybe if they are the same Amp hour, you'll get a more even drain. BTW I thought she flicked off the camera the first time haha!
Daniel Allen you're right those battery should be in parallel as to draw on the individual profiles of each battery itself... Not inject 12 volts through a 6 volt battery... That 6-volt battery is going to get smoked. But he'll learn 😉 Costly mistake though. Also, in parallel that would increase run time. I don't know much was batteries are but they can't be cheap.
You're not injecting 12 volts anywhere. In series the two batteries act as on the main concern is the cells may be different sizes "mah" this could cause over/under charge/discharge issues apparently he's charging them separate so my concerns is over discharge of the smaller cells. But it doesn't inject 12 volts through 6.
When in parallel you need 2 same sized batters wired positive to positive and neg to neg to double mah "amp hours" with is run time. 2 12 volt batteries in parallel is still 12 volts just doubles mah. 2 12 volt batteries in series neg to pos pos to neg doubles volts to 24 but keeps mah "run time" the same.
Who would neg vote this? Crazy awesome mod! Great thinking with the kill switch. The front yard obstacle course is cool. You can also use a remote car actuator. I made one for a TTR-50. No vid or tutorial though. My only suggestion is a helmet. :)
Ha. No clue how this ended up in my recomendation videos....made my xmas seein that lil girl bout shit her pants when it took off on hi. I had one of those 4wheeler powerwheels when i was little....wish i had someone able to do this to mine. Still, good memories even without. Happy holidays.
Great job dad I wish I had this kind of tutorial when I was growing up and had my cool Chevy pickup I would of loved to make my little power truck cooler and faster the only thing I wish I did was take off the old stickers and paint it to look like my dads old Chevy.
Okay... This is badass! the only thing that I would say to the man who created this is, adds more support to the axles. With all of the turning and everything going on with those axles, they are going to snap. You may have to have something custom made. Have the plastic ones turned into metal ones.
Cool idea. Just feel bad that the girl is just doing small circles enclosed in a chain link fence. Open it up and let her drive down the street or to a park
Thanks for the tips. I did this with my daughters Barbie Dream Camper and I guarantee mine is the only 6 foot long power wheel to leave the ground going off a ramp lolz.
Those batteries are too heavy bro. I built my kids a 20 cell 12V lithium battery for their normally 6V power wheel Lil' Quad and changed the motor and gearbox to a higher rpm 6/12V unit and this thing hauls. The lithium battery is alot lighter weight than the factory acid battery so that alone makes it faster. It runs all day long without heating up or running down and it's so fast that when I take them around the block I have to run the entire time to keep up with it. It carries my 2 and 3 year old kids together with no problem, combined the kid's weight is 75 lbs.
gaff I can see it now .... Smoking electric motors. These parts are generally designed just to handle what they are being fed originally. (And built by the lowest bidder) This is because people like to build parts cheap, they don't want to over-invest. So my prediction is smoke... And no movement. But hey you go waste your money, have fun. P.s. I do understand that there are instances when things give me push past their design limits but it's severely shortens their working lives.
Try the drill batteries work great. And hock up remote tack over super easy. Pick up used atv tires at most shops are free cut and fit work great! Install a Interna so works better ! Look for old wagons to fix forum end steering
I made one into 4wd, when my kids were little. I bet you could replace the brush motors with brushless, and get a 50 amp controller, with a bunch of Lipo batteries... that would be awesome

she's going to need shocks! great job dad
That thing also needs brakes.

The yard is like Barbie jeep tuff truck course, very awesome thanks Dad!!!
dang, the 18v made it fast lol she jumped on that ramp lol badass

How do the motors keep up with the extra 6volts? Do they heat up? Or burn out? And how long does the charge last when running it on 18volts?
wildstyle509 no I don't think so I used a motorcycle battery on my little sister's and it made it go way faster than it should so I'm assuming it don't lol
The motors have a working voltage. Most likely they are 6v to 36 volts... The label may tell you, you could also call the manufacturer and ask them what the working voltage is.
Wow. I cant believe I’m just now hearing about this!!! I’m having a daughter soon so this will be a fun project for us to do when she gets older
Imagine just cruising on the sidewalk in that thing and you're on 12 volts and when some other kid on a power wheel drives by drop gear to 18 volts XD nice mod!

Wish you made this video 10 years ago when my girl was that age. Lol she really knows how to drive that thing. Love the ramp jump. Awsome job.
That is AWESOME!
But uh.... Your gettin some positive camber issue's on those turns
Michael Luscher it's actually steering induced toe-out. steering geometry wasn't a main design priority for power wheels.
This is the best thing I’ve seen on RUclips in a while. Good job man.
Dude your the best dad ever!
*you're
You’re a dumbass :)

now she has turbo to win all the races
Jake Robeck electric cars don’t have turbos
Man your daughter cracks me up, she straight handled the 18v like a boss.

2 thumbs up!!! one for being a cool dad and one for showing how to do this.

Low rider powerwheel imagine the girl going up and Down with the hydraulics
I AM DIEING JUST PICTURING THAT HAHA OMG 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My wife is going the hate me for doing it but my daughter will absolutely love it! Awesome dude.

Awesome! That’s some cool Dad stuff right there. Looks like she’s having a blast. Great job.
I wish this man was my father!

Chevy LS motor swap for that car should be the next video.
You are an AWESOME Dad! Great job!
father of the year. awesome stuff!!
Whoa! That was excellent! I wish I had an acre of land to give you when this was made so we could see her really open up the throttle.
This really made my day, thank you! Great explanation as well
At 18 volts i let out the most childlike dad-giggle. My wife heard me laughing and said "Whatever that is you're NOT allowed to do it."
Faster is better. Great video! !
Faster is better! Great video thanks for the upload and that little girl drives better then most on my morning commute haha.

Ryan Cokus lol
Ryan Cokus your a twin turbo

I definitely need to get this for my daughter this is great:)
great job. not sure how long ago you made this, but did the motor hold up?
Okay... This is badass! the only thing that I would say to the man who created this is, adds more support to the axles. With all of the turning and everything going on with those axles, they are going to snap. You may have to have something custom made. Have the plastic ones turned into metal ones.
"JUMP" just to clarify its called hooking up the batteries in Series ....
Crash Weekly yeah jumping would be hooking in parallel
Thanks brother I have a escalade that needs these mods, especially the tire ones. Great video
Cool idea. Just feel bad that the girl is just doing small circles enclosed in a chain link fence. Open it up and let her drive down the street or to a park
YA JUST LET YOUR 5 YEAR OLD DRIVE DOWN THE MAIN ROAD WITH THE OTHER CARS.
Matt Arbon I did that when I was 5, my street was set up decently for it though
Hell yea, good job bro, I just modified my little boys car.. From 12v to 20v using a power drill battery. he loves it!! Good video bro!!
Dang 18 volts was awesome!
Thanks for the tips. I did this with my daughters Barbie Dream Camper and I guarantee mine is the only 6 foot long power wheel to leave the ground going off a ramp lolz.
love it. you should help others with this. make a couple o bux, and a hole lot of kids so much happier.
Great job dude! Your daughter is going to be a great driver when she gets older! LOL thank you for sharing that with us
Your daughter is so cool!!
Awesome Mod!! Only suggestion I have is a custom shoulder saftey belt so the lil one doesn't move so much... Have fun Guys!! Play safe!!
thanks perfect video was exactly what i was looking for
That's awesome! I can't wait to pimp my son's jeep out. Got it from the thrift store for 20 bucks.
best dad ever
I love how she's is practicing her "hand-over-hand" technique
thats a good dad right there
That's amazing, a few years before this my young niece had the same one, it's a wonder why they simply don't make them better to start with.

Xzibit has really hit rock bottom....jk 😁

That's cool! The front right tire looks like it's gonna pop off!!
When you like modding cars but your broke af
HALA MADRID you're
Only thing that matters is that little girl's happiness, who cares about your opinion. You're probably spiritually broke! Lol sadness.
Power wheels aren't exactly cheap. I bet he's done something to his car, and home. People who like to work with their hands usually can't stay still.
Lol this little girl in her tiny pink car doing sick jumps and stuff!👌👌💯💯
Just imagine 20v
gaff I can see it now ....
Smoking electric motors.
These parts are generally designed just to handle what they are being fed originally.
(And built by the lowest bidder)
This is because people like to build parts cheap, they don't want to over-invest.
So why would you use an electric motor that can handle say 30 volts, when are you going to feed it is 12.
This has to do with the gauge of wire inside, as well as the coating on said wires.
So my prediction is smoke... And no movement.
But hey you go waste your money, have fun.
P.s.
I do understand that there are instances when things give me push past their design limits but it's severely shortens their working lives.
Your test driver is awesome!! Great job!
Man, this guy should work for Ford and fix their shitty mustangs
Ok...but holy shit i was not expecting that toy car to take off like that...
True
I don't have kids I'm 40yrs old how am I seeing this 😆 you parents are funny !!
Bad ass but I would give my daughter a helmet with that mod
Try the drill batteries work great. And hock up remote tack over super easy. Pick up used atv tires at most shops are free cut and fit work great! Install a Interna so works better ! Look for old wagons to fix forum end steering

That's sick 18 volts. It's like nitrous on my trans am. Great job. She has the fastest Barbie Jeep in da neighborhood.
All it needs now are 22's haha
44s
What size Power Wheels Jeep is that please?
I made one into 4wd, when my kids were little. I bet you could replace the brush motors with brushless, and get a 50 amp controller, with a bunch of Lipo batteries... that would be awesome
18v helmet required...
Hi... great job... I am interested how you made the remote control to turn off and on the car... THANK YOU!
Faster is better mayne
Sweet video man... 😃 hope she likes it for years to come.
