Removing the old stuff and making sure every little bit of surface is good and smooth was a serious workload Tim, I bow to your perseverance and sheer hard work!
I know that feeling of terror that you're going to make a wrong cut Jo - every time I have to cut into what for me is a seriously expensive piece of leather. Given your experience with leather though I can't think of anyone I'd rather trust with the job though and you have done an excellent job.
The final overhead shot really shows of the hard work the pair of you have put in to this part of the renovation - Het Trick is looking seriously good!

I think you made the right decision on the tread, you haven’t wandered too far from the original design👌.
I have 6 chunks to remove and I know it will take me all day 😢.
Very much enjoy your content happy sailing guys🥃

The cost of the sheets made me gasp! Hope it's not something you will have to replace them too often 😅 this did have the vibe of a jh leather video. Presumably they would have been too big pieces to fit in your glowforge? Would have been interesting to see how a laser would have dealt with the material.
Wow that final shot looks amazing... Looks really fancy!

Hopefully will last longer than we have the boat, this was, hopefully, a do it right do it once approach but we will have to see

Haha yes, watching it back after I'd uploaded it I did think, oh you can tell I filmed this one 😂
There are some materials that can damage the laser cutter, not sure if that would have been one of them but didn't want to risk it. Also reckon it'll have been a pain to digitise each pattern and get it right.
We are super happy with the results, it was definitely worth the effort 👍

An better coulor would be cream defenitly not grey. The coulor absorbs heat from the sun and you will cook your feet.

Curious as to why you chose treadmaster again? Most boat owners hate the stuff!

I quite like it, looks nice on the boat and is pretty hardy so should last well. Would have liked to go with a fake teak type finish but that stuff is eye wateringly expensive and would have to be professionally done which would be beyond our budget.
