I love Indian food - it's my favourite cuisine. I love the mixture of spices and the subtle flavours. Indian food has so much layering of flavor, and the dishes go together so harmoniously. Love from Korea 🇰🇷💕
My son and I feel the same way and we have a fabulous big huge Indian cookbook I found in Costco half price and we bought it and he's learning and he is trying and he will get the perfect flavors someday
Just a slight correction : 1858 is when the Queen of England took direct control over India after the 1857 uprising. But British, through East India Company, was already extending it power over India from mid 1700's and seized absolute control by the late 1700's itself. Amazing video as always.. :)
Omg craving Indian flavors.. I was thinking of getting some Indian food soon, but now I’m not sure what I want!! Those butter chicken enchiladas looked so amazing! Haha that’s like something I do with leftover Indian food (or all my leftovers) just dump cheese on it for a midnight snack!.. I can’t decide what I wanted more in this video! I don’t think I’ve had a curry so coconutty so probably that.. but I love things extra spicy! The fish vindaloo has my name written all over it as well! And naan for days! I love these 24 hour meals!!! And especially with Indian food the possibilities are endless! 😍 living and eating vicariously thru you! I wish I could eat like this on the daily! Altho I order goat over lamb hehe...
That fish vindaloo looks so good! I had lamb vindaloo (first time I ate Indian food actually) the other week and was blown away by the flavors! So spicy and intense - I loved it! I want to try this fish version so muhc!
The paneer wasn't a British influence. I believe it is Portuguese influence trying to recreate the fresh cheeses (queijo fresco) of Portugal. Originally, Hindus, although eating lots of dairy, hated the idea of splitting the milk to form curds. Only with Portuguese influence did this process of coagulating milk become more accepted and was the origin of the curd based "chenna/channa" sweets of Bengal and, in pressed form, paneer. (Note that Indians usually use the word "curd" to refer to yoghurt rather than the solid that separates from the whey after adding acid.) See "Curry: A Tale of Cooks and Conquerors" by Lizzie Collingham.
THATS NOT TRUE... SINCE MAHA BHARAT OUR LORD KRISHNA HAS A NAME OF MAKKAN CHOR... OUR ANCESTORS USE TO PRESERVE BUTTER IN CLAY POTS... PANEER IS ACTUALLY INDIAN AND PROCESS JUST DIFFERENT IN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES AND HAS DIFFERENT NAMES... NO PROTUEGUES OR BRITISHERS DIDNT ENLIGHTEN US BUT THEY CAME INDIA TO LOOTS US...
David finally has indian food after a long time hahaha! Lol I love how he says "americanise" it, I just lost it there ahahahahah! Love from India David! Hope to see you soon here again! This time with your family ❤️
Love 💕 the video! Couple of minor clarifications: the spinach dish is “Saag” Paneer (sage paneer is not correct). The use of paneer comes from Turkish influence and not British. Hindu India was invaded by Muslim rules for a 1000 years before the British came along. The food culture of North India is an eclectic mix of Hindu, Turkish, Moghul, Persian and Afghan influenced dishes. 😃
Well u know what David why I watch ur videos not just those foods but the knowledge u gather across wherever u travel and how u explain and try to find the reasons and like u said brother u keep grinding n grinding and that's what makes these videos special!!! Cheers
