So far the best and informative vid regarding these miners. Most other vids are crypto vloggers who are invested in these somehow. But this vid showed the pros and cons and in a very entertaining way. You just gain a new subscriber man! keep up the good work.
Just buy solar panels that make electric completely free...then buy a miner. I know those types of panels are expensive, but it's comely worth it in the long run.
That pretty much sums it up. First gen asics early adopter here :) Still got my first BFL & Antminer S1s around, was thinking of booting them up just to heat my garage :)
I think it's pretty safe to say bitcoin isn't going anywhere and is here to stay. That said with futures about to be traded here in the USA starting next week it will only bring more people and transactions into bitcoin. That means it will become more profitable in the short term. The point you made though is getting your hands on an S9. No where else in mining can you find this kind of return (making it lower risk). Assuming bitcoin drops by 50%, fine your only making $500 a month instead, not a bad deal.
Overall I agree with most points but I just wanted to make a quick note: My L3+ is pulling in more than your calculator shows. Even with NiceHash down I'm bringing in a bit over .1 LTC a day. Granted that's still in the 6 months ROI range for a rig from Ebay, but it's a little better picture than what's shown here. Also, the heat is a very welcome thing in the frozen north right now. I turned off my houses heater to save electricity.
LOL! The L3+ definately makes more than $7 per day. If you mine the correct coins it can make around $16 per day currently. That's even without NiceHash being up.
revenue from an l3+ is about 18 per day currently . it varies obviously day to day . You seem to have omitted 3 important points in considering asics . 1 - coins can go up , so you can mine and hold for more favorable returns at a future point , 2 different coins come in and may be more profitable , you dont just have to mine litecoin on your l3 for example and 3 the same "subtle nosedive" is inherent in all mining including GPUs
I have a L3+. It has taken a bit of a hit the last few days. I was mining at $19 - $22 a day. Yesterday was only at $14. I'm in the process of building a GPU rig.
You really shouldn't look at the current profitability honestly. Litecoin could double in price in the time you're mining and you'll be (technically) mining twice the dollar amount.
S9 is the only way to go now. I know everyone talks about risk however there is nothing out there in the mining community that gives you that fast of a return. In addition futures are start being traded this Monday which will only increase transactions and added profitability.
Well I'm gonna receive my L3+ next week. At the time of deciding which ASIC miner to buy profit for L3+ was around 700 $/month comparing to S9 with 550 $/month. So I decided to go with L3+ and now btc price has sky rokceted. But I'm thinking about holding Litecoins that I'm gonna mine because I believe its price gonna go up maybe not as much as Bitcoin.
+Erfan Gholampour Fair points. I think that's something that I didn't cover enough in the video. Mining for the sake of the coins instead of mining for the sake of cashing out.
That makes sense if and only if you are still profitable. It is CRUCIAL that you look at a mining rig for what it is, as an investment platform: a big hulking coupon enabling you to purchase X tokens for Y dollars every day, Y being the cost of electricity. If X > Y, that coupon doesn't offer a discount; even the opposite.
the Mining game is most profitable to those that are in first with top of the line ASICs... which is the case with any investment. two years from now a devoted crypto miner will need a dumpster behind their house to put all the power supplies and worthless miners in while living in a perpetually cold environment, powering the whole thing from a self made hydro, wind and solar plant to feed it all.
Ive been using my miners for heat in the winter for a few years now, summer time i vent all the heat straight outside, yet my mining room gets to around 90° in the summer.........my miners cover my whole house electricity bill and put a few bucks extra into my pocket.........id be running a 1400watt heater anyway so this way im getting money back with the electricity i use..........
what many people don't understand though is that those high fees are really good if your a bitcoin miner, for example i have been mining bitcoin for years, and as we all know the current bock reward is 12.5 bitcoins, now the actual reward you receive is much more than this, with the recent interest in bitcoin i have been receiving as much as 19 bitcoins per block, this is because the fees are added to the block and you receive this, that's also why most bitcoin calculators are wrong, just think about that.
lol i got a 70mm edf (electric ducted fan) runs at 30 amps and produces about 7 lbs of thrust i bet i could use one of them with a properly programmed speed controller would kick ass at cooling
Can you pair up a miner with a GPU mining setup? I’m nowhere near into mining but it’s pretty neat, since GPU’s are better used for gaming instead of being tortured with mining.
TheBryceraisanen, permit me to answer the question. I'm buying coins worth 8k immediately from the platform I'm already trading with. I know that in 2months, I would have made X3 of the $8k. That alone has secured my future.
UFD Tech I have 4 at home and OMG!!! Im looking for a small office or a place cause the noise that they produce its insane haha. I bought 3 S9 and a D3.... I regret i bought a D3... Sucks lol. Awesome channel bro!!
Hate to break it ya but you should look up Bitmain's G1 and G2 models its about to blow up you thought process about some things should be fun to see what ya think
Really nice video, great content !!! :D how about in the next video u go into detail whts inside the Asic miners, what cpu chips it's running on ! I heard 189 cortex a9 chips
And whats to say the same thing that happened with the d3 wont happen with the s9 too when a better piece of gear comes out! It sounds like a crazy game of constantly selling gear and buying newer and better gear to keep up! Oh and S9's are way more than 3k try 6k !! If you can find them in stock!
i calculated it and the price of buying the hardware or buying the power from Hashflare are more or less the same. I got 26.5 TH in hashflare, pretty happy with it. Then there is all the shit that comes with buying the hardware.. heat, noise, extreme power usage and thats if you can even get one or 2. If you buy from hashflare now you get your first payment 24h later.
+karma police Sure, but what happens when the difficulty gets to the point that 26.5TH isn't profitable? You would have been able to flip the hardware a couple of times and keep up with profitability. You can't do that at a static hashing rate.
well with the real numbers i get now from my calculation i will break even in 2 months maybe a bit more. i don't think the difficulty will make such a jump that i wont be making profit from this 1 year contract. Also if the difficulty jumps hard prob the price will too. And you can buy extra hashing power as much as you want any time you want. But thats the same with hardware. if you buy S9 for 1400dollars + PSU and then the 13.5 TH is not profitable anymore who is going to buy that hardware from you?
I have 3x Baikal Gaint+'s (A2000), I don't seem to be making half the amount on these on MiningPoolHub as I was on NiceHash, Seems to be mining Qubit on MiningPoolHub for some reason where on NiceHash it was mining X11/13
Thank you for this insightful video. I do have one slightly off topic question though. What is the end function of the algorithms being solved by bitcoins?
I am still making 34$/day for each L3+. You just need to know what pool to use and what is the most profitable Scrypt coin to mine at any given time and to be able to switch between them instantly.
Hi, I'm new to this idea of making money, I understand the mechanism of "mining" but ... how can I transfer my money to my bank account??? What bitcoin wallet to use??? I can build a miner with 5 graphic cards which, after my calculations, can produce around 20 euro per day (600euro per month) with a cost for electricity very very good, like 80 euro per month. So as I said above, how to transfer my money to my bank account??? And what bitcoin wallet to use??? I'm in Europe, if that matters.
I def bang with your page... please do a Gpu step by step build if you can, I used to mine bitcoin... I had a cointerra miner... super hot, i had to keep the a.c. on all day and noisy is an understatement. I'm now perusing Monero... I'm looking for the cheapest build for max profit... aka like everyone else lol
Ya the ASIC ones I looked at the 2k one and 4k one where terrible. The only good one was the 8k one I looked at and that is only right now. Once the difficulty goes through the roof they will be obs-elite. They dont ship more out till March and by then who knows lol I am waiting for the next Gen of ASICs now that people know the problems. I am sure someone will make one that uses less electricity and is quiet
I read the thumbnail as "antimatter" instead of "antminer", that thing cost 25 billion$ per gram😂, i thought there was actual card that can mine antimatter
You started your review of ASIC miners rather well, but unfortunately you were completely wrong when reviewing the Antminer L3+, to say the least. First off, you failed to mention that the S9, the D3, and any other ASIC miner from Bitmain has a whopping $600-$900 delivery charge PER SHIPMENT. Now, going back to the L3+ miners, I have two of them and they generate a rather good return per day $29-$45, depending on network difficulty for Litecoin. HOWEVER... these miners can also mine other scrypt coins like Verge, Dogecoins, etc which have crazy potential and can make serious returns if they jump in price. Mining isn't just about mining for coins to cash them out for immediate returns, but rather about mining for coins and holding on to them for future price jumps. Now, thats how mining is done. Good luck.
As soon as the next gen miner hits the market difficulty jumps and it doesn't stop there, as they continue to come on board revenue continues to drop and drop fast. If you haven't factored this in properly be prepared for disappointment as your returns quickly diminish day by day and then you're looking at under clocking, yes under clocking to milk the last bit of returns out of your pathetic noise maker. Quite frankly it isn't very satisfying and somewhat depressing. I do not currently ASIC mine nor have I for some time and probably never will again. i'm not saying this to steer people clear while I mine away. Have at it if you wish but be forewarned that this probably isn't going to be a rewarding endeavor unless your coin just so happens to go to the moon and then you likely were better off buying it. Thankfully algorithms are written that are ASIC resistant and level the playing field for most everyone to enjoy mining and not for a few to dominate. Memory intensive operations thankfully rely on memory and memory is a universally required commodity which somewhat moderates it's cost. ASIC's are not required for anything but mining and are strategically marketed only to appear to be worth what they are selling for. Let's be honest if you could mine more out of a miner you made then you could get selling it, why on earth would you ever offer it for sale in the first place if you're a multi million dollar company?
short answer yes, long answer no.
maybe?
+i liek mem Potentially
+Eco Ecoví You know the question is rhetorical, right? 😂😂
oh... ok then xD

This video was pretty awesome, i loved the super fast sketch at the end XD
+Waseem H 😁😁😁 Thanks Waseem!!
That pretty much sums it up.
First gen asics early adopter here :) Still got my first BFL & Antminer S1s around, was thinking of booting them up just to heat my garage :)
+skaltura Hahahah, amazing! Repurposed as space heaters!
skaltura i use mine to heat part of my house in the winter, my miners also cover my electric bill and i put a few hundred in my pocket too every month
Ya, i have a GPU mining cluster heating my garage :)
It's usually 1-3C during winters, now 10-15C... and it's enormous in size :D (~700m3)
Thank you for delivering information quickly and clearly. I appreciate.
Fantastic coverage, clear and concise
And the noise on those s9s sounds unbearable
+OMAR AHMED Hahaha, thanks
I think it's pretty safe to say bitcoin isn't going anywhere and is here to stay. And I am still waiting for the 1070Ti lol
Overall I agree with most points but I just wanted to make a quick note: My L3+ is pulling in more than your calculator shows. Even with NiceHash down I'm bringing in a bit over .1 LTC a day. Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately online calculators can't be trusted, but glad to hear your L3+ is more profitable than indicated.
LOL! The L3+ definately makes more than $7 per day. If you mine the correct coins it can make around $16 per day currently. That's even without NiceHash being up.
Fair enough. My points on them still stand regardless of current profitability, but thanks for letting me know some details need to be corrected. :D
Its going up and down ($15-$40) but in average you do $15-$18 ... it never hits $7... dunno where this number is coming from.
revenue from an l3+ is about 18 per day currently . it varies obviously day to day . ASIC boxes have more than tripled since the recent BitCoin surge. AntMiner S9 is easily over 6000K on eBay. The real money in mining is selling ASICs.
I still think Altcoins are better, and if you wanted, you can exchange the altcoins into bitcoin
+Kelvin Minnaar Good thoughts.
Yes, mining altcoins then converting them to bitcoins can get you more profit because of difficulty differences.
I count myself to be successful in bitcoin mining with the help of Patrick Brown my bitcoin broker. he is a genius in bitcoin trading.
Mr Patrick Brown has proven to be most worthy, he has changed lives and guided many through financial hurdles.
I though i was an expert, I lost almost all but with the help of Patrick Brown, I am recovering my losses.
A 1080 to are like 750 and up thanks to mining so if you get a batch order it's not that bad
New fave tech show
keep doing videos. love it man
You make great content. I appreciate the the time and effort you put into your videos.
Thank you! I appreciate the time you take to watch it! Means a lot!
Top vid mate appreciate the info
One of the best videos I have ever seen... Well done
I have a L3+. It has taken a bit of a hit the last few days. I was mining at $19 - $22 a day. Yesterday was only at $14. I'm in the process of building a GPU rig.

Nice video. Which coin do u think can replace Bitcoin?
Well I'm gonna receive my L3+ next week. At the time of deciding which ASIC miner to buy profit for L3+ was around 700 $/month comparing to S9 with 550 $/month. Exactly what I'm doing, I feel that Litecoin should go up at least 30% by March of 2018 so mining and holding would be a profitable endeavor
Love you I just found you!!!
Great channel
Very informative video!
Awesome video!!
Thanks man! Means a lot coming from a crypto legend!

You are killing these videos! The ASIC miners are looking more and more attractive.
+Fagan-Carnation REALTORS Sorry, wut? I'm killing, as in I'm doing a good job? Or I'm killing as in I'm completely wrong?
UFD Tech LoL as in you’re doing great!
+Fagan-Carnation REALTORS Hahaha, thanks so much!
I Don really know because the one thing I hate about Bitcoin is its transaction fees and it's really expensive
+AstroTech Studios for sure.

Brett, nice say.
Maybe you can do a video to teach how to mine with graphic card and how to optimise it.
+TAN WEI CHUEN Will look into it friend!
I hit like for that smooth animation😁
+Kryptk_ ZA Animation.
+Kryptk_ ZA ?
1:15 with the title, its small but adds so much😀

Haha they're sound like an aeroplane, proper loud as hell haha
+vanister83 Indeed. Imagine having a proper farm of these.

what do you think is the best gpu mining rig without electricity cost ?
Nice to know ,
Thanks .
+Ghanta Wala You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
You forgot to add VAT and shipping
Bro, to mine other coins with ASIC, you just need to set up multipool!
1:35 that tiny little gpu on top! ♥
Can you water cool an ASIC? I have an old radiator from a Honda Civic sitting in my garage. It'll probably handle 1000W.
What card do you recommend for mining? Vega cards start at $700 here so that is out of the question.
But that's just on a specific coin right? If I switch coins then I can use it to mine?
The reward outweighs the risk were entering into a whole NEW world that we all still don't know and Innovation !!
+Jesus Gonzalez You think so? Do you have any ASICs??
i calculated it and the price of buying the hardware or buying the power from Hashflare are more or less the same. I got 26.5 TH in hashflare, pretty happy with it. This is cryptocurrency we're talking about. There's always an uninformed individual who will overpay and regret it.
For around 2300$ you can make a mine rig that has 5 GPUs
Antminer d3 is for dash mining
I have 3x Baikal Gaint+'s (A2000), I don't seem to be making half the amount on these on MiningPoolHub as I was on NiceHash, Seems to be mining Qubit on MiningPoolHub for some reason where on NiceHash it was mining X11/13
why does the antminer s9 maker, did not mass produces it themself and mine themselves. :/
THIS CHANNEL IS HEADING FOR INSANE NUMBERS SOON. DON'T FORGET ME BRETT.
+Naif I won't!!!! It might be harder to respond as it gets bigger, but you won't be forgotten!!
Bitcoin Mining God UFD Tech
I think that gaming computer needs its own video
1:43" My treadripper system with a 1080ti" - it is clear that there is a Vega gpu in there
hi witch machine it's very good for less electricity and not to hot the pc and bitcoin Mining ?
What if you put your asic miners in the sound proof box or a room with good ventilation? Would that solve the problem of noise and heat?
+Mitche23 Yeah, it would help.
Thank you for this insightful video. I do have one slightly off topic question though. What is the end function of the algorithms being solved by bitcoins?
Dude, this camera feels so smooth.
Hahaha, 60FPS does give that effect!
NEW VIDEO TIME I'm excited, are you excited? (Of course you are)
+Waseem H Waseem!!!! Always excited for you my friend!
GUYS any suggestion for software miner for newbies in mining???
I have 10 S9’s, what is the best pool to mine at? (small/big) (which one)
ELECTRONEUM ! ... awesome team, big potential ! very under valued at the present.
can I put another gtx 1080ti in my b350 mobo (non-sli) i know SLI doesnt work but will the mobo read the GPU so I can mine with two 1080 ti's?
Food for thought: someone with enough understanding to design and build miners has decided to not use them but instead sell them to others..
so they are only worth it if you have free power
I am still making 34$/day for each L3+. You just need to know what pool to use and what is the most profitable Scrypt coin to mine at any given time and to be able to switch between them instantly.
34 a day dam
What's the deal with all of the miners having low ratings on Amazon?
L3+ was $20 a day on nicehash before the, well, you know...
Why do they make these miners so DAMN small? Surely if they were bigger with better heatsinks inside they wouldn't have to run those kind of fans?
I'm sure there's a cost to production reason for it.
would 2 1080TIs be worth it? or is it like have 5 or not worth it?
+AY BEH CEE The number of cards doesn't affect profitability. A single 1080 Ti is profitable
Did you hear that nvidia just unveiled their first volta Gpu called the titan V?
Yeah. Non-consumer. $3000. OVER DOUBLE the current Titan. Ridiculous. HBM2 tho, so that's nice.
UFD Tech But apparently its like 5 times faster than Pascal
Not saying it's not worth it. Just saying it's ridiculous.
With Bitcoin rising its price it's profitability is going up
+Miguel Laurito Literally said that in the video fam
should i get 4 gtx1060 6gb or 4 rx580 8gb for mining???? which is more profitable???? thanks
+mark angelo Garcia 580's are a better value buy for pure hashing power, but that's offset by their increased power draw.
1:46 i dont see a 1080ti
I am looking in to mining. Should I get 2 l3+ or 1 s9 or build my own?
Hi, I'm new to this idea of making money, I understand the mechanism of "mining" but ... how can I transfer my money to my bank account???
What bitcoin wallet to use???
I can build a miner with 5 graphic cards which, after my calculations, can produce around 20 euro per day (600euro per month) with a cost for electricity very very good, like 80 euro per month.
So as I said above, how to transfer my money to my bank account??? And what bitcoin wallet to use???
I'm in Europe, if that matters.
hey i found this guy selling antminer s9 for cheap but the batch is from jan 2017 should i buy it or not
I def bang with your page... please do a Gpu step by step build if you can, I used to mine bitcoin... I had a cointerra miner... super hot, i had to keep the a.c. on all day and noisy is an understatement. I'm now perusing Monero... Really interested in getting an ASIC, but how do you get these repaired when/if something goes wrong? Anyone knowledgeable please help!!
So what price for ltc would make u feel comfortable about the l3?
+Matthew Thomas Sorensen None. No price is safe because cryptos have no floor.
Ayyy! My Afrikaan boi delivered! It feels almost as if you made this video just for meee.
+Cameron Massey Bro, you know I'm American, right?
Glad you enjoyed the vid. Saw the crash. RIP BTC
Well I guess that explains the accent. Lol.
:( My peasant monies lost me about $150 in gains when the crash happened. rip. You still optimistic?
Litecoin mining with the l3 is really good
+Can Darma Yeah, especially now that the currency has nearly tripled since the video was made.
Ya the ASIC ones I looked at the 2k one and 4k one where terrible. The only good one was the 8k one I looked at and that is only right now. No idea. :D
I read the thumbnail as "antimatter" instead of "antminer", that thing cost 25 billion$ per gram😂, i thought there was actual card that can mine antimatter
+Mr Rainbow Hahahahahaha. Lololololol
good info here guys
+Jeremy Hzy Thanks!!
Ordered 100 unit S9 last week from official bitmain website. Arriving end of January. Hope its still profitable by then.
Just ordered the $9 last night and payed $5800 I still can't belive I did it but I did and hop and pray I can make some money off it
USB ASICs are more power efficient

Thankfully algorithms are written that are ASIC resistant and level the playing field for most everyone to enjoy mining and not for a few to dominate. Memory intensive operations thankfully rely on memory and memory is a universally required commodity which somewhat moderates it's cost. ASIC's are not required for anything but mining and are strategically marketed only to appear to be worth what they are selling for. Let's be honest if you could mine more out of a miner you made then you could get selling it, why on earth would you ever offer it for sale in the first place if you're a multi million dollar company?
I asked this during the live stream yesterday.
:D

RIP. Mistakes.
GPU are the best for me! ASIC miners are good but you need to be ready to lose all that money.
