Very helpful. Thanks. My battery is getting bad. It costs $99 to replace it with Apple. Amazon has replacement batteries from $17-26 which would take my time to get it done and I am imagining will only get me another year or so. I can get $60 in trade from apple, and the Basic Series 9 costs $429, or $370 after the trade. Your video was helpful in me making this decision for me to upgrade.
Glad I could help you make your decision!! At this point, between 99 and 370, if you have the money it's definitely more worth it to upgrade. Because you will be spending some money anyways, and this way you ensure you will keep getting watchOS updates for a few years!
the double tap i would upgrade just for it, no more needed to press with my nose to close a timer when cooking or doing other things with my other hand
I don't think so, the double tap only activates the "main" function on the particular screen you're in, so Play/pause in music, pick up/hang in a call... and in the main "watch" window it brings up the widgets
Gf sent me a list with the series 9 but the series 4 is def more in the price point. She doesn’t a have an Apple Watch so would the 4 be good or should I get a 5/6?
After the latest update the battery on mine doesn’t last as long which is why I’m thinking of updating, I’ve had it for 5 years though so no complaints
I would say that for the price of the 4 you better get her a 2nd generation Apple Watch SE. She will get better battery life and better future proofing, as it has a newer processor, so it is guaranteed to get watchOS updates for longer. The Apple Watch Series 4 will probably stop receiving updates in watchOS 11 or watchOS 12 (which is this year or next year).
@@ramblr5900I have a series 4 on 84% battery health it still lasts 24 hours with sleep tracking! I think if you upgrade should be a series 7 and wait for something amazing to come out maybe series 10 will be a redesign and save your money, they haven’t done much with the watch that you will notice
Thanks for the thorough breakdown. I love my Series 4 - but I’m getting lazy, not enjoying charging every morning AND evening. Since I only charge using the OEM cable, the new rapid charge will be nice.
Thank YOU for watching! Yes, I can definitely say that the provided fast charging cable is great, especially on the ultra since just the time of a shower is enough to get you through the day. It's just a shame that ONLY the cable is capable of fast charging!
I'm trying to figure out if I need to go from 4-9. So I really only want to know the difference between to two not how we got there. This video had me trying to remember things between the versions and it was just much more than I was looking for. 4 vs 9 and that's it, that's all. Thanks anyway.
Thank you for your feedback! I try to make my videos as straight-forward as possible, so what I do in this video is naming every single thing that is added to each Apple Watch. Normally, if something is added to one Apple Watch is added to the next one. Therefore, what is new from the series 4 vs the series 9 is... well, everything I mention in the video!
@@NewAppleTimes This isn't ordinary worsening of the battery. It just one day decided that it's max battery holding time was like 4 hours (regardless of what I do with my watch). Apple support was also kinda puzzled
Very good video! Straight to the point but not ruched! Keep it up 👌
Thank you so much!!

you should just $99 replace it, apparently they would send you a new s5. Technically its a replace rather than battery change.

also would love to know if you can activate your card to pay with the double tap feature, that would be cool
I know 😂 We have all been there... you're not alone 😂

Thanks for breaking down the upgrades like no other! I will get a series 9 and finally say bye to my series 4. Thanks for the info!
Thank YOU for watching!! Glad I could help and enjoy your new Apple Watch! :D

I have the 4 should I upgrade?
You will know if you watch the video till the end, or even if you skip to the "Conclusion" chapter!
@@NewAppleTimes yes i watched the whole video! Lol still in denial becauae the 4 seems still viable watch

Pretty cool and easy to digest video. Thanks ❤

I have a 3. Should I upgrade???? 😂😂😂😂😂 joking course. But that’s what I’m upgrading from. I could not even update it any more. 😂
Hahahaa I actually have a similar video but comparing it to the Series 3! But yes, you should 😂
Same XD The 3 was great, and I would have waited till the 10 if the battery didn't suddenly rapidly discharging each day.
I think that’s the biggest limiting factor of the Apple Watch, but you’ll definitely also notice the processor/performance updates!

Would you upgrade from Apple Watch 8?
Definitely not. I know the features sound appealing, but you won't notice much upgrade to justify the price. I would wait at least 1-2 more years!
