    • @jkleylein
      @jkleylein Год назад +19

      It's rare that you have that luxury. In that case the freight train was stopped and it was fairly short, so the locos were able to get it rolling in reverse somewhat quickly. If the train was heavier or the passenger faster there would still have been a serious impact. Most of the time freight trains take a long time to get rolling.

      @АндрейМилованов-у9у Год назад

      @@moonscar119 yes, the road is icy (it was in steppe of Northern Kazahstan in 2014. Both trains are russian.). But this driver could minimize problems if he was a little more smart. I think that way is trelease the brake pedal and try to leave the road into snow. There is no bumper on this road and 100-200 meters (4..7+ seconds) to understand situation so I see no problems to do that (excluding the lack of brains. I understand it's bad to write this about died driver but he broke too much. Broken expensive trains were result of working time of many people and railroad trafic pause is lost time for many people too.).

    Trains ain't no joke! I have a friend who was an engineer that got hurt when the train engine caught fire and he was able to save the other engineers and conductor by getting them to jump from the engine while it was moving and when he was carrying out the conductor they had to jump from the side rail and he got broken ribs, a punctured lung and broken hip from impact. I also had another friend who was linking train cars together in the yard and the one he was on derailed crushed him. It was awful! They were only able to bury a piece of his hand. It was fully loaded and it pretty much desintegrated his entire body. I think about him all the time. Their Dads and my Dad were best friends so we all grew up together. Their Dads were Railroaders so they followed them into that industry as I followed mine into the Food Service and Customer Service industry.
