I heard this song for the first time last night. WOW! What a powerful song! Mark has one of the best voices I've ever heard!! I gotta have this song!!!!
This is a great song featuring Mark Trammell, who has been a perfect gentlemen whenever I have seen him. He loves the Lord. Like him, I'm just waiting for that phone call. I would, one day, like to know that my granddaughter, Mandi, finds Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. I pray for her every day, She's only going on 5 months old, but it is never too early to pray. Gwen Weaver 3-28-2010
Well, I totally forgot that I heard it a few months ago! Doesn't matter, I will listen the words off it! It is one magnificent song, sung by a very magnificent singer(s)!! Can't leave out George, Glen, and Danny!
My hearing is damaged to the point that I can no longer hear much of the frequency range and music sounds terrible and singing all sounds flat. Don't know if I will ever hear music again, but I have wonderful memories of growing up listening to The Cathedrals, Laughing at the antics of the Happy Goodmans and the loving the stories of Wendy Bagwell and the Sunlighters. I was privileged to go to singings all the time growing up. I praise and thsnk the Lord for His goodness.
This is the first time I have heard this! I will be looking through Amazon to buy this and, every one of the songs by The Cathedrals! I come back here every day so I can listen and sing along!
Re-release it on cd, it is available on DVD through Amazon, I sent a copy of it to George Younce, he forgot this was re-leased on Video Cassette back then, he said it brought by memories, several years before his death.
George Younce told me a few years before he passed away, they had a bunch of these Travelin Live Live manufactured on CD proffessionaly, and they went fast, ashame of all the Cathedrals best recordings I do not have this on a full CD, I have the LP (a collectors item), and seen the vhs video, now reissued on DVD, and I had the audio cassette at one time, I have different songs from this on compilation recordings, but not the CD, this was released on Riversong Records of the Benson company (1986)
If I had the money I would by the rights to this recording and re-lease it on CD, I believe it would sell, Todd Payne, Glen Payne's son owns most of the rights to the Cathedrals Merchandise however, but the man who owns the rights to the project Travelin Live will not sell it, Their is no telling how much this man would want for it, but so many want this added to their Cathedral Collection, it would probaly be worth the investment. The video has been re-issued on DVD and avilable through Amazon.
I belive Todd Payne own most the rights to most of the Cathedral Quartet merchandise, he re-issued most of it, though compilations, but the man who owns the rights to Cathedrals-Travelin Live, and the Singing Americans Live and Alive, Gold City Double Take Live, and the Kingsmen Jackson Mississippi Live will not sell these, thes where big Benson RiverSong Recording label recordings in the 80s, while the Cathedrals manged to get a hold of hold of some projects from E.R.A.
To me it is a shame that someone from Glen or Georges families hasn't taken the Cathedral recordings and sold the things while people still remember who they are. I have worn out MANY a Cathedral recording and if I could buy everything they have ever done on CD, I would do so. They could just set me up on payments.
My name is Gaylon Cantrell and I wrote that song. You were in Union City,Tennessee at acuh I sang for your intermission. You may have recorded it but my Heavenly Father knows. Who wrote it.
Come On Home was written for the Papal crusade Pope John Paul II held in San Salvador in the summer of 1985. There are several people who contributed to this song which is written in the Creole of El Paso and Honduras. Roberta Rios started off the first line: I don't worry when the Cross gets too heavy. For I know there is a reason to go on. was written by Alberto Rodrigo. I can almost hear the angels as they sing around The Throne. was written by Archbishop Alberto Rodriguez. And I'm just waiting for the call to come on home. was written by Fr. Ignacio Gallegos. I'll not question all the ways that God would lead me. was written in Dutch by Mother Superior Helga Klondike. Through the fire, three the water. was written by in Dutch by Elza Ortega. And sometimes through the storm. was written by Daniel Ortega in Dutch. My eyes are fixed on heaven. was written in Dutch by Bishop Paul Klondiike. And I'm ready now to go. was written by Cardinal Nufschell. And I'm just waiting for the call to come on home. was written by Archbishop Fulton Sheen. The language of the verse switches back to the Creole of Honduras and El Salvador. Jesus said that He'd prepare for us a mansion. was written by Henrico Rios. In That City where the streets are purest gold. was written by Marthez Rios. I believe it's almost finished. was written by Roguero Alzado. 'Cause I'm homesick now to go. was written by Marguetta Alzado. I'll not question all the ways that God would lead me. was written by me in Danish. Through the fire, through the water. was written by Claude Hopper. And sometimes through the storms. was written by Connie. My eyes are fixed on heaven. was written by Donald Francis. And I'm ready now to go. was written by Maude Francis. And I'm just waiting. was written by Frieda Owsterly. For the call to come on home. was written by William Owsterly. My eyes are fixed on heaven. was written by Carol Jenkins. And I'm ready now to go. was written in Swedish by Heunri Jenkins. And I'm just waiting for the call. was written by Margaret Jenkins. Lord, I'm waiting for the call. was written in Swedish by Robin Lundgren. Yes I'm waiting for the call. was written by Robert Jansen Sr. To come on home. was written by Charles Plummer.
That is absurd. This song was written by my mom, Savana Foust. I don't know why so many ignorant people are now telling their version of how the song was written. I actually have the original hand written words.
I heard this song for the first time last night. WOW! What a powerful song! Mark has one of the best voices I've ever heard!! I gotta have this song!!!!

Can i get a minus one of this? For us to sing this in our church.
@ludenasan I believe Travelin' Live was on a record and maybe cassette, I don't think it was ever put on a CD.
Post "I'm in the Shadow and The Train Song."
Great video...Can no longer be purchased anywhere.
@ludenasan It never made it to CD. Their Goin' In Style recording from 1988 was their first recording released on CD.
