I have 4th stage bone cancer, nothing brings me peace like this album. I love the Cathedral's and the Lord, he has absolutely touched me, gave me mercy. This album is just perfect for me. Oh thank you Jesus for your mercy and love.
I love you. And plan on meeting you one day in heaven.
MAY GOD HEAL YOU!!!
May the Lord heal you and I be praying 🙏 🤲 🕍 for you
Bless you and yours!
How I wish that you'd praise Christ the Lord Instead of an album. So it's the album of peace and not the God of peace. Yep! No wonder the Lord said that we are wretched
Me. Im just an old sinner saved by God's Amazing Grace
the cathedrals are amazing a friend of mine told me about it and i looked it up here in youtube i was so happy thank God these guys can sing and also sing unto the Lord Amen to them and God bless them.
I grew up in Jamaica and my mother had this album. This month she would have been 75. My favorite song by them is More About Jesus. ❤
BECAUSE OF JESUS! THANK GOD I'M FREE!
I was 27 years old when I fell at the altar and surrendered my heart life body and soul to JESUS CHRIST!! I’m now 72 years young and I am so thankful for all of the different groups that sing GOSPEL MUSIC but the CATHEDRAL QUARTET HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY FAVORITE GROUP! I don’t believe there will ever be another group like them!! I’m not downplaying any of the other groups because I LOVE THEM AND THEIR MUSIC!!
They are really missed but thank God for us to still listen to them ...Great and wonderful praise and worship to listen to .,❤❤❤❤❤
You'll never hear better singing, nor testimony & praise, then from this group. These were men of tremendous faith and unafraid to speak about our precious Lord & Savior. Our troubled world needs so much more of this. ♥️✝️🕊🛐🛐🛐
Absolutely!!
❤
Amen to that!
AMEN
A.
I pray that these songs come back to the churches. I grew up listening to these songs. Every time I hear them I feel the spirit of God his anointing all around me like I'm getting a hug it's going to be okay I miss that in the churches today
Amen!!

I've had the priviledge to sing a few of Mr. George Younce's solos and still find him to be an inspiration. The Cathedral Quartet was a God created masterful combination that, in my opinion, will never be matched again. RIP George and Glenn. Blessings to all.
❤
These men didn’t have wine to be able to rejoice and entertain us they are full of the Holy Spirit of God who can bring joy peace and well being in the heart of those that love God the young man on the piano is Amazing he can play sing and do a little dance all inspired by the Holy Spirit what a blessing he is to our life with his gifts l love listening and watching him
The two old guys will forever be the greatest.
Lol...watch that "old guys"..stuff..
..trust me...
....75 1/2
Hugs
The Cathedrals were the gold standard in gospel music. The best bass singer that ever lived.
Close but not quite.
I love his bass voice
very good, but not quite the best for me--that would be Mike Holcomb
I agree😀😃😄😁

"Jesus have mercy on me." Yes, I listen to this song over and over and over again and never get tired. Gid bls them.
How precious it is to worship with a group so gifted and who love Jesus! An awesome testimony to the beauty of God’s plan.
If it wasn’t for His Mercy, where would all of us be.LOVE AND MERCY=JESUS.Thank You Lord for Your daily Mercy and Amazing Love ♥️
Laughing thru my tears. One night in Spartanburg SC, I was 4 or 5 and tried to run away from my mama so I could go home with George. Loved him my whole life. First heard him with the Blue Ridge Quartet when just a tiny little girl. 63 now. I play piano by ear like Hovie, just not as good. Oh how I miss the legends that helped set my course in music. The friendship between George and Gene was precious.
George and Glenn were such genuine men and solid Christians. Surely they're singing around the throne!
they are not around the throne of God they are in the grave awaiting the resurrection
I came out jail
and Glen &George make to God after was church from 1958 to when 2005. I look at them to see can be a little bit. In 1986 I had a tractor trailer roll oven and put in Quadriplegia but god love as my. So thank you turn my life around. I hope the family knows that make my life 🙏. Yes i will see then my Mom and Dad all people when for me. God is great thing.
There is not another group that will ever compare with Glenn, George and the Cathederals. There is just something about their love of Jesus that has always inspired me. You will never be firgotten.
Amen I agree with you 🙏💝!
Amen
I heard all of this wonderful video many times I’ll love the joy of the old man can’t wait to meet the in Heaven after l see JESUS MY LORD❤Thank you Sweetheart you made my evening and put me to sleep 😅❤
Fully agree
Thanks, Mark, Marty, Scott, Erine and Gerald for keeping the music alive. ❤😊
Jesus brought this group to me during an illness of Covid19 pneumonia thank you Lord for the beautiful concert
Welcome to the greatest praise music of all time. The Cathedrals used to come to Gilead Baptist Church for New Year's Eve for many years in the 80's and I never missed the opportunity to see them. These guys have blessed my heart for as long as i can remember and I can't wait to camp around the Throne of our Lord Jesus Christ and hopefully sing these same songs. Enjoy this music.
@@robinbuckeye6841 ha...was there Dec 31,1986👍🤠

They ar my selection of the "best"
I've seen the Cathedrals live so many times but I still listen to them even these days. I can't wait to sing with George, Glen and Roger when I get to heaven. I miss those guys so much but I know they're camped around God's throne praising His Name right now. All glory to God for the time these guys had on earth to bless our hearts.
I agree with you I love listen to them all the time.
Thats true Sir

Me too
When our then pastor asked me what were my famous singers were? I said The Cathedrals immediately. He said, "Oh, you listen to a bunch of dead guys" making a joke. He didn't understand. I love Gods Spirit. I love His presence. And these boys? They have that in spades. Between the dear group The Hinsons, Gaithers, Happy Goodmen. These are the best of the best..why? It's the precious anointing.
Totally agree
Ohhh happy dayyyy
Poor young man .....don't forget to talk to Jehovah God ....He will lighten the load on your heart.....my heart goes out to you and your Gramma..... you are a good grandson.....she will live be ause of your love
I never had the privilege of seeing the Cathedrals in person but sitting and listen to them in a recording I can't keep dry eyes from being so blessed hearing them singjng
A sinner saved by God's grace and mercy like me would never tire and fail to keep watching and hearing this songs of praises to God sung by Godly men of the Cathedrals Quartet ! All glory, and honour, and praise to our Omniscient, and Omnipotent, and Omnipresent God that we should continually worship and serve for the rest of our lives in this temporal world !
THANK GOD I AM FREE! PRAISE JESUS!
My husband I thought the Cathedrals were some of best of the best. Thank you Lord
What a privilege to be able to find these beautiful hymns sung by these gifted singers. What a blessing to my soul .
Amen
You. ARE GOOD I like. You
Amen 🙏 ✝️ ❤
The Lord has chosen these these men to the body of Christ
I wrote Homeland on Easter Sunday of 1982. I had been diagnosed with HIV on March 30, 1982. Then on April 8 my Grandma Bessie Allen had passed away. Her memorial service was the day before Easter.
Yeah right!
I really enjoy and praise GOD for their musicianship. I miss them dearly!
Simple the best the prestigious cathedral quartet
These songs and this music is the best. It uplifts and encourages and worships the Lord Jesus unlike some of the newer stuff today that just doesn't seem to have the same feeling when you listen or sing it. These songs tell a story of people and their savior, Jesus!!!
Thank you men for keeping the Church of Jesus going rejoicing, welcoming Him back 🙌
They were my first gospel concert I went too, after being saved at 25yrs old,62 now.still enjoying their songs maybe even more realizing their talent ,the gift they had.12-3-21

Blessed souls are Jesus feet worshipping our Lord.
They were awesomethank you.
The Cathedrals.......just heavenly
Ivan Parker and I co-wrote Jesus Have Mercy on Me on our 10th anniversary (December 2, 1982). We were both HIV-positive at that time.
Amen, Amen
It is a tribute to the finesse and talent of the former generation that they could hold a crowd with only a piano, bass, and vocals
God be praised
The perfect blend of voices! Glory to God for blessing us with these talented men.
I don't the name of the one before me, but I want you to know that I will pray for you and I know that this Jesus that we love and worship will hear and answer our prayer
God bless you and keep you in His love and care.
This is real God Moving Southern Gospel Music. God Bless
Beautiful. Beautiful.
I was today years old when I found out that Gerald Wolfe played piano at first in the Cathedrals
How old are you?
Oh my what great singing to start my day!!!
love all of you, those still with us and those who are Angels
Loved all of it.
Gospel music can't be beat. The Gaithers are all wonderful singers. Wes Hampton, you can't be beat. Home,is a great song . I never heard it until I heard u sing. I have heard it till I have learned it, reading your lips. Keep singing, for the Lord.Bless you and all the singers
I fell in love with the Cathedrals this same year back in 87'. As a Junior in High School they were my absolute favorite group, and I sang their songs all the time. I must have drove my step mom nuts constantly singing and listening to their music. I had so many of their tapes, and they still bring back so many memories.
My former husband Shawn Obrien and I co-wrote We Shall See Jesus on Good Friday of 1995. That was the day Shawn was released from drug treatment after a five and half year addiction to heroine.
The We Shall See Jesus that the Cathedral Quartet sang was written by Diane Wilkinson, who wrote a lot of other Cathedral hits. She wrote it back in the early 1980s & the Cathedrals recorded it live in Atlanta back in 1983.
These are gospel songs. The real thing; real messages in songs .
Thank You For This music.😃
🎉See you at the House brothers! Thank you for leaving behind a legacy of joy and anticipation of our Home going. We are grateful to You Father God for your Son Jesus Christ that brings all this to fruition!
I get blessed listening to these anointed singers each and every day. God blessed their singing ministry as they used their gift for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
One of the greatest singing groups ever and they'll go for many years yet thank God for them
The best Quartet in my opinion there was. Their voices all are heard as they sing making blending that is so enjoying. We also have some others today taking their voices do the same.
I enjoy hearing them sing
George y is awesome👍 thank you god for this voice
They were a very great singing group! One of the greatest quartets of all time!
Somebody Touched Me was written by my parents, Charles and Christal Ahlemann when they got married again to each other on August 2, 1972. They were Hippies beginning to re-integrate back into society.
Can't think of a better way to add to my work day than listening to gospel music!! This was wonderful!!! Thank you!
Oh how I would love to have a tape of this. I haven't heard a lot of these songs. I wish I could find the Lord like these men has. Oh dear God help me
I’m so blessed by the Most Gifted Men singing the beautiful gospel music that touches hearts everywhere !! I must the piano player GERALD Wolfe is the very best and I must add God has blessed him Gerald with a great voice…when he sing it speaks to the heart! ❤
George Younce was the best bass singer I have ever heard and I know he is still singing in heaven for the Lord
Yes and George in his boots is the singer I'll be listening for when I get there.
Oved his voice and the awesome testamony he lived for the ZLORD!
Amen ... i love hearing George Younce
Yes I know what you are talking about I have listened to the Cathederals with George,Glenn and Roger, there is somethings about thier love for Jesus inspired me. I could listen to them all day and all night. They willed never beforgotten.
Love it thank you Jesus for these singers.
Ivan Castanza and I co-wrote Jesus Is the Master Builder in October of 1973. My pastor was doing a Bible study on the end times. The song was originally written in Italian and Ivan and I worked together to translate it into English.
I gave this a love
Great music and the words packed a powerful salvation message! God put great music and messages in all kinds of packages regardless of race, religion, age etc. Praise God! I pray one day we'll sing and Praise God forever in our Forever home! Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen @
I've been listening for their music and the Gaithers for years now but I never get tired of listening to them.
They touch hearts with their love for Jesus through their music..
God bless them and us all.
Glorified and praises God unlike most as I'd call 7/11 noise or contemporary music
What a blessing we would have lost if these men stop singing because they were getting old and tired thank you gentlemen for sharing your joy singing praises to the Lord it will keep you young😅
What a blessing to hear such spirit filled anointed children of God! I love to hear especially George and Glen.
I LOVE THE CATHEDRALS. i believe in my opinion that this is the best version of the cathedrals
It was George and Glen who made this quartet consistently great. So many of the men who left the group over their time went on to success of their own. The 3 with this formation and these two younger men who were with them in their last formation. The true beauty of the group is the subject of their songs…Jesus Christ and the Plan of Salvation. Resting in their graves and awaiting the Trumpet of GOD…rise to eternal life ye who have faithful with little enter in. What a great getting up morning! Let’s all be as faithful.
I heard The Cathedrals 45 years ago when I was a child. They are by far the greatest quartet I've ever heard. God Bless you as you listen to them. RIP George Younce you r so very much missed!!🙏🙏🎶🎶
⁰
Some of the best harmony ever. George and Glen were doing God's work!
The two older men have more life then the young. The love for Jesus makes the difference ♥️Age has nothing to do with it.But when the Holy Spirit touch comes on you,age doesn’t matter at all.🙌♥️🕊
Jeanet...I disagree, as much as I love and respect the 'old guys". All music is written to favor an instrument or rhythm. Gospel and barbershop groups are not jazz with all its ad libs.
Don't worry. He is old now. And his ministry of Spirit filled music is his legacy; with thousands of saints blessed by his gifts.
I agree Jeanet Sivas!
Next month I'm going to sing bass with a quartet at our church. George Younce and Glenn Payne are two of my heroes (So is Bill Gaither by the way) but I know I'm going to be scared stiff when we get up on that platform, and I'm 71. I wonder how much personality I'M going to show up there with my knees shaking. Personally I believe Glenn and George knew what they were doing when they signed up Mark Trammell and Danny Funderburk (and Gerald Wolfe on piano) and I trust their judgment. If there's any doubt, watch as Danny sings "I Just Started Living " or listen to the testimony he gives as he sings "Somebody Touched Me ", or Gerald Wolfe's work with Greater Vision, or Mark Trammell's work with his own quartet. What shines through for me here is Glenn's and George's willingness to mentor these diamonds in the rough.
The older the richer in wisdom and experience and Testimony of God’s Wonderful Love Grace and Mercy may we learn from them
I went to Cathedral concerts when I was a teenager. Loved them! When I get to Heaven I want to hang out with these guys❤
Let’s thank The Lord for this beautiful awesome Gospel music! Amen!!!
Ive been listening to these gospel singers since 2007 and i love them . Praise God for their wonderful voices used to praise and worship God.
Thank almighty God for men like these
Gerald Wolfe's debute.
Age 23. This clip is a treat.
Listen to Glenn Payne when he calls from The National Quartet Convention Louisville, Kentucky from what turned out to be his deathbed after being diagnosed with liver cancer. He sings
..over the phone...so strongly and annointedly. I was a Southern Gospel deejay in the audience that night. One of the greatest moments of my many years covering...and being blessed by...the week of songs and fellowship.
Glen sings "I Won't Have To Cross Jordan Alone". Blessed my heart...and will yours I'm sure🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Greatest quartet lineup that ever was or will be. So great that they had one of the greatest singers in the history of Southern Gospel… on the piano
YEP!
I like what he said I never have fell out of love with my lord
I heard the Cathedral Quartet when I was 10 years old and even had their signatures. I love them to this day and truly miss George and Glen. What Blessed music they sang and still do today!!🙏🙏💜💜
My all time favorite Southern Gospel Men's Quartet!
Great Harmony Quartet. I Love very much All them Songs.
PRAISE THE LORD JESUS.
I have always loved Gospel Music. Primarily 4part harmony
Even though it was a trio my brothers and I sang together for years. I then joined a quartet at church. I sang 1st Tenor. We sang at several Revivals. Sang alot of Cathedrals songs. Vocal Band, and others. These guys are the best I've ever heard and seen.
I have suppressed memories. This song We Shall See Jesus had to be written earlier than I was originally thinking. We Shall See Jesus was actually a 3-way co-write. The chorus and first two verses were written in Spanish on Good Friday of 1974. Ivan Castanza was taking Spanish that year, his 9th grade year. Shawn Obrien and I were also both fluent in Spanish. Ivan wrote the first verse and Shawn wrote the chorus, and I wrote the second verse. The switch to a major key was written on Easter Sunday when I gave birth to Rosi Castanza-Castillo, my first child by Ivan. The remainder of We Shall See Jesus was written by Ivan Castanza in Italian. The song was translated in its entirety by my mother.
I’ve read some of your other comments. Amazing story!
Hallelujah the lamb is worthy of praise 🙌
Always great to hear this group sing.
Such a pleasant aroma and beautiful blend of this style of Gospel Music!!! Amen and Amen !
Need to go will come again!!!
Oh yes they are gifted fore those who are alive and were gifted singers indeed.
