When iam using Android Auto or Carplay on my carscreen, can i use the Hudway navigation app parallel? So i got navigation on both screens?
Hi! The smartphone is connected to HUDWAY Drive over BLE, notifications, calls, and directions will be displayed on HUD. At the same time, you can have your iPhone connected to CarPlay via a cable - and use it as you normally do with CarPlay. Thank you!
Hi am i supposed to remove the white thing on the projector? Also what are ur settings ? Isnt mirroring better for maps as all i see is a left arrow and right arrow otherwise
Hi! Yes, sure, remove all the protective sheets prior to using it. We have a specially developed HUDWAY Drive app and there're two modes: Navigation and Free ride, Navigation allows you to see minimalistic navigation hints with turns and distance to them + two widgets on both sides. You preset them from the app as well. Thanks!
Is this able to read Google Maps navigation notifications on Android which provide some basic navigation info, like next turn, ETA, destination, and the arrow (as the nav icon)? On Android, this info can be extracted from the Google Maps navigation notification, including Android Auto, with third party apps like Tasker. With this info, Hudway Drive could display the next turn information just like it's shown in the video which is displaying it from the Hudway nav app, all while using Android Auto or Google Maps navigation. If it can't, this could be a pretty major feature to consider for a firmware update.
Hi Peter! Are we getting you correct that you wish to have minimalistic navigation as we have now but with Google Maps?
@@HUDWAY Yes, in some videos, the Hudway Drive shows an arrow the next turn's street name and distance. All this info plus ETA can be extracted from the Android notification Google Maps shows on the phone when driving, even in Android Auto.
Android has a special permission that allows apps to read notifications from other apps, which your app probably already uses to read messages notifications. The Hudway app could take this info, including the arrow icon, and show it on the Hudway screen in the same way it shows its native navigation directions. Waze also shows this info on its notification except the icon, and probably other nav services, so it could make the Hudway Drive a lot more usable since most people use G Maps or Waze.
Hi, is it able to connect via OBD2? In the video it shows OBD2 connected. If so, where can we purchase the cable for it?

Does it show boost and fuel tank level? I have a supercharged car and I would like to have all the information in one place instead I have multiple gauges
Hi! Thank you for the question. With our OBD scanner you can get fuel tank level, but not boost, we're sorry about that! Perhaps, we'll be able to add it in the future, but we can't promise this. Do you collect these data now? Thanks!

Really interested in this, but I can see on the website that fitment is not supported for Audi A3. How far off is it? Could it still be fitted with a bit of overhang off the dash?

Hi! This is available now only as a pre-order, unfortunately. It works with Google maps in mirroring mode which allows you to show your phone screen as is on the lens. kind of annoying it has to be powered by the usb/ciggerete port, the wire/cord is annoying, is there a different way to power the device? internally?
Hi! Implementing a battery into the device will double or triple its cost, moreover, it leads to some breakage more often. We have a way to hide the cord neatly, so it won't bother the view a lot. Thanks!
No i mean is there a way to wire the HUD into the car battery via the firewall of vehicle instead of using a port INSIDE the cabin.? Maybe that is for a after market mod shop to try do? Hi Jose! Basically it can, if you'll use a default USB cable and be able to provide 5V ~ 17V (1.5A) power. But please be careful, since such way of usage won't be covered by tech warranty. Thank you!

Hi Tywin! Actually, no editing except for music and some speeding in the beginning to make the video shorter and easier to watch. The image on the lens is floating since it's hard to make a live video in a moving car and make it stable at the same time, the camera is moving, the car is moving, but it somehow realistically shows you how a driver actually sees the lens during a trip. Thank you!

Hi Sambaran! Thank you for the question. If you use our HUDWAY Drive app with BLE connection, you can keep your phone with the screen off in the pocket for the whole drive. But it's not true for mirroring mode via WiFi. Thank you!
