FM transmitter sounds quite shitty and clashes with other cars with FM transmitters. You should use Bluetooth to stay wireless but have acceptable sound quality. There Bluetooth adapters for almost every old car now but that's where problems start as Android Auto couldn't stream audio to another device and we need to use workarounds.
Regarding navigation search, you can do it from the phone and start trip, it will resume on the HUD. So, you do not have to search it using the remote control, its easier this way. I think i will buy one, its great besides that wire that doesn't look good.
@@SaabUnleashed Talking of which, I really want to fit an Android head unit into my 2009 9-3 convertible but I can't really spare £300. I've seen you fit so many units into your 9-3, what would you say is currently the best budget friendly option. Want to use Android auto.
This is a very cool device but that gigantic branding letters in the back of the unit facing you 24 hours a day and destroying any kind of seamless integration on any car is an instant killer for me. Why brands do this and that just HAVE TO PLASTER their name on everyone's faces is something I will die not understanding. Thanks for video, cool device, DOA for me for branding.
Sounds finnicky! I have a car with bluetooth - would really enjoy some apple carplay as my car doesn't have that but I care a lot about the call quality which seems it might be bad due to the built in mic? You don't say anything about that in your clip.
I have 60s car and I want to have a modern Apple CarPlay / android auto stereo without intrusion of a permanent screen. This would be a great starting point for my sort of application, although I would like to have the ability of voice control and a wired connection directly to the speaker system. Also having the projector separate so it can be inset into the dashboard out of the way would be amazing. I guess all of this would be possible with some effort and experimenting 😊
After a recommendation, just converted over from a kenwood to a xtrons tsf721a . I much prefer a physical volume knob as its so much quicker than haptic and more convenient when driving but ive got a feeling ill get bored of how slow it operates . Is there and better spec android units which keep physical buttons on?
Yes, there's many. If you check my channel you'll see plenty of head units have physical controls. Actually the easier thing you can do is look at the spreadsheet linked in the video description here: ruclips.net/video/dadsGNPwTSs/видео.html
It looks good, but I suppose when you use this you lose the hands free phone feature that you would otherwise have. Or does it have a built in mic? Thanks for an interesting video.
It would be cool if communicates with your phone via bluetooth. Actually, it would be great, if it was like a projector for the phone, so you set navigation on the phone, and see the image on the HUD. Otherwise, it's messy to have modern Android Car, a suitable (let's say) smartbusinessphone and to be bound by that ... remote on the wheel.
Thanks for the review! Could you use Android Auto from one of the Android head units and display, for example, maps on this HUD? Btw, this looks very similar to Boyo VTHUDpro which costs much less.
I looked up the reviews for Boyo pro and they're not good..😣I am on the hunt for a HUD with a good overall customer satisfaction rating and so far no such luck😱This search is getting so tiring, irritating, aggravating & annoying!😭Its like I'll never find one that truly fits the bill & checks off all the boxes!😫
If it could be solar powered and avoid that cable or have like a wireless charging feature also, then you could just plug it in on very long road trips but for the everyday it would have enough power to sustain itself along with solar. This is very cool but I wish there was more review of using it and in the dark, etc.
I have a great HUD from eBay that displays speed/revs/voltage etc and plugs in to the OBD2 port. Cheap as chips and has the advantage that it lays completely flat and only the reflection is visible. A HUD is no place for an OS you need to interact with in any way.
Not sure how you can't find a link, Google takes you straight to their Aliexpress store front where you can buy it. Living in the US is irrelevant because the majority of Android head unit brands are imported from China at the point of ordering. Anyway, as for Jmance, I have never personally reviewed. I will see if I can get hold of one to look at. Specifications do seem to be good. That being said, Joying is a very respected brand and they also have a 15.1 inch high spec head unit, and one of those is on it's way to me now, so expect a review soon
For me I like HUD,s but I actually by pass factory headunit and run iPhone 16pro max either ataudio white usb c to b to a topping d10s dac than digital coax connection by Audioquest cinnamon to audiofischer tec helix 12 Chanel DSP amp controlled via conductor. However if I will be travel with a handheld HAM radio I use iphone connected via QED usb type c - type a to HEC expansion port of helix DSP amp
A cool idea, I feel the navigation side needs a bit more work to make it usable, would be nice if the "screen" was a bit bigger as well. but a great idea for a standalone product and can definitely see this one appealing to a few people.
i have bought the ekiy T8 but i cant seem to get a hold of the 4 letter password for 360 camera calibration, if anyone has it. it would be much appreciated
i dont like this device because: 1. a fm transmitter has not good audio quality 2. the controlls are shit, instead pairing it via bluetooth over android woult be a better solution, or like other manufacturers do just make a screen monitoring function... but great video
Why hasn’t any manufacturer simply developed a transparent HUD screen that feeds an output of what’s on the display of the head unit? 🤔 Wait, did I just invent something?!? Y’know, plug it into a USB port or something and Bob’s your uncle…
So, the burning question is............ I bet it's not still installed.......... That ghastly wiring is reminiscent of an 80's communal install for Analogue TV........... Heads up here - (No Pun intended) But I'll bet money it's in the Unleashed Bin rather than in the DEMO car...........
Very cool that it has a built in FM transmitter. The messy wires is what always gets me but this is gold!! Good review sir!!

Just looked up the price - around £250 and that's without shipping or any customs charge - I could fit a really nice head unit for that!!!
Oh, completely agree. This is more for those who have cars where they can't fit a head unit, or don't want to deal with all the wiring ect

What’s the difference between unichip?
Question, can you connect an Android car stereo like Dataita to the HUD directly instead of a mobile phone?
If there was option for center console controller instead of steering wheel. I wonder why most hud don’t just use windscreen of vehicle.

Pants that mate. Obviously you are just showcasing technology and you make a good job at it thats why im subscribed but im just reviewing the product.
I tried to order it online but they don't accept international orders. How did you order yours?

It does actually have a built in mic for hands free calls. I neglected to mention that

Where else can I buy this?
I'm looking for a HUD that connects to my android head unit. Any suggestions?
Me too!
Where in the EU can it be bought???
What’s the best head unit u recommend?
It’s really cool
Pardon my stupid question, but why not just mount your phone on a holder?
Can they ship outside of Japan?
Can you buy this hud in the USA?
Hi I have about £200 and I'm looking at the Pioneer dmh-a340dab, what would you recommend other than this unit thanks
Can't buy it. The website have no option for buy and shipping oversea ( from Japan to the US )
This, but with HDMI in to connect to an existing android head unit instead.
Got my hands on a Toyota auris 2011 . Want you help picking a suitable replacement audio system.
Wasn't sure how else to reach out to you.🙏
How can I add audio visualizer to my atoto head unit

Yes

A lil pricey, but definitely a very cool device!
Is this a rebrand of hudway drive?
Hudway doesn't seem to have android auto support.
Do you think it coukd work in a 89 Saab convertible ?
Of course. It will work in any car that has a cigarette lighter
Does it work for electric cars?
Yes the fuel source is irrelevant in this case

What an absolute car crash of a device. I can’t think of one redeeming feature.
Feel like this would be a lot better with a BMW-style rotary dial in the centre console, that steering wheel remote looks super janky and hard to use
Completely agree
Definitely a gimmick. You could fit a really nice head unit for that money. I would find that to distracting.
You know there’s lot of cars you can’t change the head unit because they also control the climate stuff right ?
Tell that to, I don't know, fighter pilots?

Hi Stuart, can I get actual contact for You?
I have sent You a couple of emails on different adresses but still no answer.

Certainly looks well made, but I don't think it is very practical to use compared to just a normal Android Auto add-on device.
A bit too gimmicky for my liking and likely to be a distraction, though a better controller may help reduce this.
