I had the earlier version from Hudway, the Hudway cast. Purchased via eBay. It was fantastic when it worked. The problem, it connected to your mobile device using WiFi and the connection kept dropping out randomly. I am hoping the drive is better but there are some negative experiences out there.

Thinking about pre-ordering, but I have a few questions.
1. Will you be offering a narrower mount?
2. Will there be an app release specific to this device? I say that because the current hudway app doesn't look nearly as sophisticated or detailed as what is being presented in this video.
3. Will the app come with color customization? I.e. nav trail color, speedometer, pitch/roll meters, etc. I'm sure users will want to match colors with their dashboard (subaru - red dash, ford - light blue dash, etc.)
4. I see this uses Bluetooth connectivity. Will connecting via Bluetooth interfere with a vehicle's built-in Bluetooth audio and hands free system?

I understand it connects via Bluetooth but what does it connect to.

Thank you for your ideas! It will involve certain customisations and collaboration issues, but HUDWAY Drive will work with CarPlay and later with Android Auto as well :)

When will these be shipping? Your website has this still in preorder with an expected ship window of Q2 2019, and we're already in Q3 2019.
They will never ship. I ordered on Dec 11th and have not gotten mine. Nor have I gotten my money back or any communication. They are a scam company.

@@jenniviedma If you haven't got them sent to you you can check their Indiegogo page, they've been releasing monthly production updates and the emails I've been getting are the same ones they post under "updates" on Indiegogo.
Hopefully they actually ship! The product looks dope and the pandemic is a sort of understandable reason for all the delays, but it's been so long.

Hi, thank you for the comment. HUDWAY Drive 2019 is our new product. You're right, we announced HUDWAY Drive in 2017. It was the more complicated and rather expensive device, so we decided to create the new hardware product (through numerous rounds of prototyping, testing and at a lower price).
Can you use this while apple carplay is running? I have a seat leon and would be cool if you can use carplay and this running with bluetooth at the same time?
The smartphone is connected to HUDWAY Drive over BLE, notifications, calls, and directions (powered by MapBox, available in HUDWAY Drive app) will be displayed on HUD. At the same time, you can have your iPhone connected to CarPlay using a cable - and use it as you normally do with CarPlay.

You can mirror the app you need (Waze, Google Maps) using screen mirroring mode. Unfortunately, there's no person received HUDWAY Drive as the release date is in December.
Not clear during daytime otherwise nice. By the way for nav app why do we just get arrow left and right indicators. Where is the road in colour.does that come on screen cast option?
During daytime, it's less bright for sure, but still visible. You can use Mirroring mode for other navigation apps to see the detailed map. Thanks!

Hi! Yes, sure with enclosed OBD dongle you can check RPM and speed, the lag depends on your car model and year, usually it's about a couple of seconds. Thank you!
unfortunately according to their website, they haven't updated their "progress" since 2017 and still seem to be in "pre-order" state even though they are technically past their announced release date

@@MELLYMEDIA the first one never turned on. When support finally responded to me (after 2 weeks) they said the ribbon cable in the base is broken. So they arranged for a pickup. Had to wait about 2-3 months for the replacement to arrive.
The replacement worked, but was very inconsistent. like you mentioned in your other comment, it has a very poor connection to the phone, mirroring doesnt work and there is a huge delay using navigation. I also had the OBD2 dongle connected to get proper statuses, but that too goes via the phone, so there is a significant delay.
Almost after a few days of use, the device stopped turning on again. Guessing its that ribbon cable again. But its been a month and still no response from Support.

This will obviously be compared to Navdy that is now kinda dead. One thing I'm noticing is Hudway does not have a knob controller that can be mounted to the steering wheel like Navdy had. How does one scroll/cycle through the menus on Hudway? Do incoming notifications get displayed w/o user input?
There is still nothing like Navdy in the market. This one is basic HUD which uses gps from your phone and Navdy has built in maps, gforce sensor and many other things.
@@MWARIS1 Yeah, nothing like Navdy in the market, sadly that includes Navdy. If Hudway can use navigation from phone's Google Maps/Waze that would actually be a plus. I've only wanted a HUD to show speed, control media, and show select notifications.
Does this model or another one record like a dashcam?
HUDWAY Drive is a projector, which shows the image from the app or your mobile in real-time on its screen. It doesn't have a recording option, you'd better use a dashcam for that.

Hi Johnathan! There's no direct integration with CarPlay, but you can have your iPhone connected to CarPlay using a cable - and use it as you normally do with CarPlay and have HUDWAY Drive connected to your phone via BLE simultaneously. Thank you!

Does anyone one know the type of power interface that goes into the device?
Dear Sidharth, you can power the device with teh cigarette lighter cable which you plug in the cigarette lighter socket in your car and connect it to the USB to Micro-B cable to HUDWAY Drive. Input power is DC 5V ~ 17V (1.5A). Thank you!

How it is compatible with Uber driver app? If we mirror Uber app on HUD, does is act like our phone is infant of our face? ( I mean it shows whole phone screen realtime with all notification on Uber app on HUB display, or we can just mirror a navigation app on HUB while using Uber app?) If an app does not support landscape, how the portrait apps will be reflected in this landscape hub?
And about side cameras, how it works in the night or dark road? and can we not install backup camera? just sides camera?

After a long long time, I got my product and paid a lot of money to get it installed and it keeps loosing it's connection from the camera set console. I don't know what to do..
What'a the main difference between this and the Cast?
Well for one thing, the Cast can only connect to your phone via WiFi or by USB. This one (Drive) connects via Bluetooth or USB. Also on the plus side, the Drive is a much slimmer design so it's less obtrusive and has a sleeker look.

wow still hasnt come out and its huge.. hopefully someone comes up with a way to shrink its size down so projection area isnt basically in eye shot.. i was considering it, for only $200 its not terrible but then i saw the actual sizemof it in video and how it attaches, like no thanks
Thank you for sharing your most honest feedback! Could you please specify more on what you mean shrink the image? Basically, the image is comfortably set within the frame of the lens, large and sharp enough to see the projection. perhaps, we didn't get you correct?

funny how in cali the law doesnt let u set it up in front of the drivers eyes. It must be to the left or the right of the driver. Pretty pointless if u liveand have it in this state.
Hi! You see, the main factor for prohibition of HUD-devices is that they block the view. But as for HUDWAY Drive - it stands a little lower than you direct eyesight and you will need to look a little down to see the lens. The lens is semi-translucent, so it won't bother and block the view of the road in front of you. So now worries! :) Thank you!

This product doesn't exist. I bought mine six months ago, the website said it shipped in three days, and then never received the product. Also was scammed on shipping. FREE shipping and standard shipping are the same. They won't explain the differences even if you ask.
I asked for my money back daily.... I'm ignored. This company is fraudulent and they should be arrested for it.
