Thank you for all your videos that make me think of different ways of mark making. I hope to try this one and others with Speedball printmaking ink and maybe Akua Intaglio ink. Stay inspired!
I'm using very thin plastic, try experimenting with different type for different marks, use recycled materials or you could even use foil. I use oil paint because it does work better but you can try acrylic or block printing ink.
Another video that communicates both the techniques along with an expressive artwork. I was surprised at the end, and pleased. I still would learn more if you would hang it on a wall, or place on an easel and let us look at it, clearly for a full minute. Thanks.
Oh my god dude. I watched a few of your others and was tempted to try this monoprinting technique, but THIS, THIS one blew me away....SUUUUCCCCHHH a cool effect!!! And so SIMPLE!!! Thank you so much
I just use a heavyweight cartridge paper 220gsm. Spray with a white primer if working with thickly applied oil paint, but this monoprinting technique uses very thin layers of paint.
Yes but it needs to be a smooth surface, the grain of the canvas would be too obvious. I use canvas with a few coats of gesso. A wooden panel is just as good.
I apply an acrylic wash using black acrylic paint mixed with water at the beginning of this demo. I'm updating the description with a more detailed outline of the process and a full list of materials used.
Wonderful technique with very interesting results! Thank you for demonstrating this -- you are inspiring.
You are so welcome!

Nice loose and very effective tones with often overlooked basic colours and as always looks like great fun
Really cool work, the whole time I was thinking of Giacometti's work and then I saw that was who inspired u. keep up the good work : )
Thank you very much!

Magical!
Thank you Dan, never disappointed ! Seasons Greetings!

Just amazing Dan.Are you using tracing paper to print with or plastic? Are they oil paints you're using? Love it 🤩

Superb Dan! love it :D
Thank you Dan, I very much like the way the colour layers in this technique.
Love this, Dan!
This was an interesting demonstration to watch. Thanks for the lesson...I plan to give it a go!
Hi Dan. Really enjoyed watching the video. Is the white paint allowed to dry before you add the black?
Yes you need to let this dry or it will become dull as the paint mixes
Genial!
Oh my god dude. I watched a few of your others and was tempted to try this monoprinting technique, but THIS, THIS one blew me away....SUUUUCCCCHHH a cool effect!!! And so SIMPLE!!! Thank you so much
Thanks, I appreciate your comments and positive feedback. I'm going to be making a new one of these in a few days. Thanks for watching.
@@DanTirels you just blending with a paint thinner of some sort I assume?
I'm only working with acrylic paint mixed with water for the base coat. The final layers of black and white oil paint are used without thinners.
Amazing technique ❤️ Id like to try out asap! What kind of paper you use for your prints? Im guessing aquarelle paper? ☺️
I just use a heavyweight cartridge paper 220gsm. Spray with a white primer if working with thickly applied oil paint, but this monoprinting technique uses very thin layers of paint.
very cool! love your vids - always great!
could this be done on a gesso treated canvas? Could you use acrylic paint for the black and white - instead of oil paint?
Yes but it needs to be a smooth surface, the grain of the canvas would be too obvious. I use canvas with a few coats of gesso. A wooden panel is just as good.
odd. is this water-soluble oil? It looks more like watercolors than oils. In the end, a brilliant result!

Beautiful ♥
You like a lot of pizza in your house 🍕
Mature
Do u think this can be done on fabric?
I am planning to experiment with this working with fabric paints, hope to film a demo video if the process works. You can do this technique on canvas.
Dan Tirels can’t wait 😊
Can u use black, white, rust brown or orange n a bit of mustard or indigo blue ..? Just a suggestion 😃
What kind of paper is it at 3:20 ? Thank you
It's not paper ! I use recycled plastic bags for the transfer sheets, try old carrier bags or bin liners, they work great and cost nothing !
@@DanTirels thank you
It would be nice to watch this method with a bit more meticulous attention to detail
Ce portrait fait peur... Je n'aime pas...
