With the random orbital sander, turn the sander on while on the piece of wood you wish to sand, as it will help stop any gouging that can happen when you lower a spinning sander on your project.

I have a basic tool kit that I've barely touched. But with all this extra quarantine time...maybe I'll tackle a home improvement project. I'm definitely not ready for a circular saw lol P.s. You should call her "Colonel Sander"😂
