I had one years ago and lost it, never been able to find them. Great news Clint!!!!!
just ordered 2, THANK YOU this will be an absolute life saver with the frustration reduction I always have on car interior panels!
I have about six of these. Best implementation of making bits magnetic. They even work on Milwaukee's non hex shaped bits. And if you leave them on long enough and take them off the bit still stays magnetic. I'd love how these don't fit proprietarily on bits. The bits don't have to have that proprietarily sized torsion zone like makita's old mag boost or dewalts version and click into place and sit at the end of bits limiting your access into recessed fasteners. I even put one on a 12" wiha screwdriver for work so I can get into the hard to reach spaces of the copiers I work on and not lose the screws down the developer or into the ITB belt. They're just a fantastic reimagining
I have been using the klein tools magnetizer for almost a year now, I have it clipped to my tool bag and can use it with anything, and it has been great so far.
That's impressive! All my bit holders only have COMMON Earth magnets.
🤣👊
As of 8:30am on 3-1-2024 these are 21% off @ Amazon - now $3.97. Makita E-01345 Impact XP Mag Boost
Surprised they dropped it. I was on there yesterday and the were around $4.85
Nice
All these Makita videos you’ve been doing lately… I’m starting to think that you and Makita are really friends!
I'm sorry of this upsets you Vance. I only goal is to ensure the Tool Review Zone audience is shown tools that can inprthese lives. I believe people are inherently good and neither the Makita Gnome nor you will deter me from caring for what my viewers want
I'm glad they brought it back. I still have a unopened old mag boost. Since I used it for the first time around 2015 I went back and bought about 5. I was disappointed when they stopped selling them and replaced them with the silver ones.
not the same they actually suck big time
I need this for my sockets and wrenches for installing bolts in tight spaces.
Just dropped it in the wishlist, thank you! One thing I've noticed about DeWALT is they don't like to put magnets on their tools. What I mean is their tape measure comes with a magnet clip that attaches to it, rather than the blade itself being magnetic. Same with their 4 in one screwum driber, (I got nicknames for gear too) LOL. I have one of the DeWALT plastic version of this because it came with my 4 in one, but I don't use it often because the magnet collar makes it hard to see the screw head. The Makita one is a step up.
I recently picked up one of these to replace one of the older metal Mag Boosts that I gave to a coworker. I was almost instantly disappointed with it. I liked the way the older version locked onto my bits, even though being able to slide it out of the way. My biggest complaint is that it comes apart, the green and black plastic pieces come apart too easily. I hope they fix this.
Sold me! Just bought one through your Amazon link. Thanks for sharing
I loved these!! They discontinued them years back!! Because of this I am headed to Home Depot in the morning!!!
Finally something that I can really use. Thanks.
Good one, just the solution I was looking for.
Thanks, Clint, I just lost the one I'd been using and you brought this to my attention as an upgrade replacement.
This is a must have for me.
Comparison showdown of mag sleeves from different brands would be fun and....well....real nass like!
Cool video Clint. Good job!!!!
Thanks Stephen 👊👊👊
This was another great video done by you!!
Thamks Devin
Of course
If you guys just accepted the Robertson, you'd never need goofy crap like that. Also, the Dewalt version stays on bits easier.
I wish they would have back in the day, but there was a disagreement with Roberson and Ford back in the Day
Just my opinion but Robertson bits break or round out quick and suck to work with
@@masons2463They last longer than Philips.
Canadian 😅, Robertson for the win! #2
Square drive suck just as bad as Phillips do. The corners of the square round out the square hole in your left driving a square bit in a circle hole. I've said it before but I'll say it again t8 and t10 need to replace P1. t15 t20 can replace P2 even T25 can replace P2 depending on application T25 and t27 and t30 can replace P3. T40 through t60 can replace larger fasteners in bigger applications.
Clint it will work on stainless if it is a low-grade of stainless steel
Just like my fridge!
I always wondered if it was worth buying
I have to correct you on something. There are two main stainless steels. One is magnetic and one is not. Usually the surgical stainless is non magnetic. Just so you know that some stainless is magnetic.
Thanks bro. Nayce like
Guess I'm headed to the depot today
I've been using the Milwaukee bit magnets for over a year. 😂
Nice video once again because of you. I'm headed to homedepot again, lol.
Lol, sorry SD 🤣😪😪😪
I have tried all different brands of these similar items and IMO Makita has the strongest holding power of magnets there is .
The Milwaukee magnetic impact screw holder works great.
I am pretty picky about driver bits but I tried out that milwaukee with the mag sleeve and it is now on 3 of my drills and impacts. so so good
I just bout the new Milwaukee one as well. Didn't even know they had it until yesterday. I'll do a vid soon on it 👊
@@ToolReviewZone, I’ll start a channel and you could watch it for new product ideas 😂😂
Pretty sure the Milwaukee is just a copy of the Makita. But if your a Milwaukee person it certianly looks better on your tools then that blasphemous blue lol.
@@duncdunc76 the milwaukee doesnt just slip on like the makita. I like and use both but the makita is left loose while the milwaukee has an undersized plastic hole that expands when you slide the bit through. Seems to keep it extremely tight in the same place, which could be better or worse depending on how you want to use it
I have the bigger version of this. The magnetic hold is amazing but hides the tip of the bit a bit
I'd like to have a larger version that fits on ratchet extensions. Be nice to not drop or lose nuts and bolts because you cannot get your hand on or under it as it comes completely loose.
I need one to go with my DeWalt and Milwaukee do dads. Awesome video 👍🏻
That is "shweet shweet shweet"! Thanks Clint! 😂
Haha, and thanks you for the comment Matt👊👊
Wow! Holy smoke, Batman! :)
Robertson fasteners are the way to go!!
That's cool 😎
Craftsman has been doing this for years , they even included it with screw driver kits . you would just rub it on your driver or bits a few times and boom its magnetized for a few uses ....
Glad you liked the video
I love your videos
Thank you so much Cerone Family 👊👊👊
I believe I saw that Milwaukee also either has released one or will be releasing one in the near future
I purchased the Milwaukee too. Will have it up this weekend 👊
@@ToolReviewZone excellent thank you
You don't also have brass screws in the U.S.?
They brought them back. Had one years ago. It went MIA. The other exposed magnets for bits break too easy
I get non Makita ones on Amazon
Bosch makes the best bits. And the they have more hex shank for these magnets
Robertson/square bits are what should be the standard.
Torx are a good idea and better than Phillips but too many failure points
I bought this about 6 months ago I just bought another 2 yesterday be aware the black magnet cover can come off and be lost Hense the repurchase lol
Yep, glad to see someone else bringing attention to this issue. Ive had several of them have a problem. Ive used the original Makita Mag Boost for probably 5 or 6 years and it was awesome. But they discontinued it. So I was excited when I saw this new version at the depot last year and grabbed a couple. But that 2 piece design is not very durable like the original was. Im probably going to try epoxying a few of them once I run out of my original Mag Boosts to see if that will solve the durability issue. Other then that the new design does work pretty much as good as the original. Im wanting to check out the New Milwaukee one that seems to be a copy of the Makita but maybe its better constructed.
Cool Clint 😎
Jamal 👊👊👊
I can watch your videos so much easier than that other famous tool review guy. I don't even remember his name but I remember he was short kind of stocky and really annoying but I blocked him so I wouldn't stop seeing his videos. Your videos are 100 times better and please don't change the style. I can't stand it when RUclipsrs start getting famous they obviously try too hard to get more followers which steers them off course
I enjoy the makita gnome so much more now lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣, I'm sure you do brother 🤣
I did not realize makita make a new gen i got enough of them adapters
dewalt put out something similar with their bit sets
Gnome looks like an older Vince.
🤣🤣🤣👊
Ok.. I'm back.. got 2 of them..5.97 in Chatt TN
Lmao, that was fast. Did you try it out yet?
@@ToolReviewZone not yet.. work 3rds.. will tonight
Put that on a square adaptor and it will keep bolts in the socket.
You have reviewed the Makita Mag Boost and the Milwaukee Mag Boost. Which one do you like better and recommend over the other?
The Milwaukee is my fave 👊
He seems very very pesky!!! That would definitely come in handy. I may have to check one out. Thanks for more great content brother!!
So pesky brother man Mike😪
Some stainless is magnetic, some not. And if you are driving stainless deck screws, the last thing you want to use is the impact driver.
Do you think it’s better than the Milwaukee I have the dewalt one and think it sucks was going to get this or Milwaukee
I just bout the Milwaukee the same day I picked this up. Haven't used it yet, but will do a video very soon on it 👊
"I always put the back in first because I know it's going to fit and then I just Buoop pop it down in then I can adjust it that way but the screw is going to hold on real tight like' "..the only reason I like doing it from the backside like that....sometimes the tip is a little bit too tight.....you're going to struggle getting it in so just put it in the back like that....."
Tractor supply sells them. They aren't new, I've been using them for years.
So now you've got a shop full of magnetised bits? 🤣🤣🤣
Analytics!
real nice like
Bought one and never use it cause I don't wanna lose it.
🤣🤣🤣
These things are almost impossible to find. My Home Depot never has more than 2 in stock at any one time, and if I buy both, it could be weeks before they are replenished. If you look for them online, they are 2 and 3 dollars more than the Depot. Also, turn them around. I was putting them on my bits the way you are, and they would sometimes slide off, and I'm talking about 3 and 6" Phillips bits, plus similar to yours. I started to turn them around so the black part was against the chuck, and no issues. And I don't see any difference in strength compared to their original. DeWalt was selling theirs for a time, but they're never in my store anymore, so not sure what happened to those.
Milwauk-IA
HD feels ya Clint! They already raised the price!! Thanks for this VIDEO!! UPDATE: Just got it for $3.95 on the jungle website.
Yeah, sounds about right lok. I put a link to amazon in the description for $4 and some change. They will probably raise the price too after a while
@@ToolReviewZoneAmazon is at 547 now lol
@@ToolReviewZone$3.97 on that Amazon link. Thank you Clint
@@PFab Awesomeness 👊👊👊
EVERYONE PLEASE REMEMBER to put it on from the back of the bit. If you have a phillips head it might break the bit!!! If the bits your using might break then your money would be better spent on better bits.
Not sold in the UK so £34 ($44) is the cheapest Amazon price, then £49 ($62) or $8 and $60 delivery, doh!
That's insane 😳
According to the product page you are putting it on backwards. I think the gnome set you up. 😂
Damn Gnome 😪
If you don't like Makita, Vessel makes these in Red. Same thing.
Stainless steal in grade 409 is magnetic sir... 304 is not... magnets will stick to SOME stainless grades..
Probably fits Dewalt because they make the same magnet 😂
I want one! Take my $$$$
I’ve had 2 dewalt ones in my toolbox for years smh.
Sam, Mark, Harry?
Wow
It's not $5 in the UK, more like $20.
Dayuuuum, that's insane 😳
ARRRRRGH! THE MG IS BACK!!! 😖🤬🔥💥
So frickin' pesky!!!!!
SO PESKY FLOOBER! 😪
Amazon has them 4.97 free shipping you’ll have it tomorrow
Yep. I put the link for it in the description 👊
I think the Klein is better.
2:50 DO NOT EVER SPIN A SCREW LIKE THIS OR DRIVE IT WITHOUT FULL COVERAGE SAFETY GOGGLES! I was wearing contact lenses and trying to start a 3" drywall screw into a 2x4 when the screw sprang out from under the driver bit and the point punched right through the center of the contact lens and gouged my cornea.
You don't know how lucky you are that the screw didn't go perpendicular and fly off. I would bet a longer screw wouldn't stand a chance of hanging on!
This new one is terrible. Fitment sucks and the end caps popped and lost the magents twice
Thanks for the feedback 👊
With out the gnome and evil twin your life would be to easy.
It truly would Mike 😪
I bought 2 of these and both fail in less than a week
Why don't you like Makita
I had one of the first Makita Impact/Hammer drills back in '08. Came in a kit with the non-bluetooth radio, sawzall and grinder for about 1100 CAD which was a steal at the time...the impact alone was $550 just for the body back then! I only used the hammer feature about 60 times with a 3/32 mostly and a handful of times with 1/4 " concrete bits. The gearing with the selector totally fucked up and would have cost me $280 because the one year warranty had JUST expired. Never again. Plus, the radio doesn't have low battery warnings so it kills the juice completely, which you're not supposed to do with lithiums! Killed four of my batteries to error code on the charger - expensive lesson!
Sir I request to you, can you able to give me a drill machine, i will be so thankful for your help. Please sir any drill machine you can. Please sir
Thank you
Sure, please send a check for $590, and I'll send it right over 👊.... ps that doesn't include shipping
He likes to put it in through the backside.
I just magnetize the bits and screw drivers the old fashion free way that I have for years. why buy the gimmicks ?
Man, I know one thing. Dewalt bits suck.
That no Works brooo
Don't even know what you are saying right now 🤷
Warning to all interested in this. This is a redesign of the original Makita Mag boost that was Awesome! But they discontinued it many years ago and released the XPS bit mag with their XPS bits. And then they quit making it and have now released this redesigned Mag Boost that resembles the original. The problem is its inferior to the original. The original was a fully sealed one piece unit. The new versioun is a 2 piece unit and the black top part pops off and the magnets can fall out. It still works about as good as the original but it is Not as durable. You could probably epoxy the 2 parts together if the black cap pops off or breaks off. But if you had the original and were as excited as I was youll be a bit disapointed. Im down to my last 2 original Mag Boosts and wish Makita would not have discontinued them.
I have the original and its fantastic. Not sure why they discontinued it 🤷
@@ToolReviewZoneYa im scratching my head about it as well. My guess is it was to expensive to make since it was great lol.
How is this new? I have a Makita thingie just like this that has to be at least 10 years old.
He said in the video it’s a newer version
They don't watch the whole video it seems
Oh boy 🤦
He just bought it. Twinkies have not changed in 57 years, but you definitely want a new one. That's how it's new.
It's smaller, yet, stronger. TRZ was very clear on that point. 🤷♂️
Looks like your making up more problems than you’re solving. And these are easily scraped off if you wear side arms all day.
You gotta have in grown toe nails bro
Nah you lost me at Makita. Their batteries are next to useless. They don't keep a charge for very long and stop charging at all very quickly. Even their job site radio is crap. It won't charge a battery, gets lousy reception and it too quit completely very quickly. Now I have two useless makita tools and a broken radio as I won't buy new batteries for them.
Just checked the Home Depot website here north of the border. It’s NOT available yet. ONLY in the USA so far !!
Have you checked Amazon yet? They have them a bit cheaper here🤔
Well, I 🙋🏻♂️ have larger size screwdrivers than in 🫵🏻r demonstration, so are there more sizes⁉️ for different thicknesses of screwdrivers ❓❓❓❓❓❓❓ 3.8.2024 🇺🇸
