    Frank thank you for taking the time and trouble to explain what the relays are for. I've had a Himalayan now for 4 months and really enjoying it.

    Watched another channel where the owner had the identical issue, he removed the relay from it's plastic body and tested it, he found that there was too many ohms in the readings then he put the contacts under a camera , on inspection found the contacts had been burnt and had serious pitting and it did look like a badly worn. You got it right "crap".

    Not had any problems with both our Euro 5 bikes yet but I do have two spare relays that I got from Hitchcocks under the rear seat. Thanks for this video I have seen those Hella ones on amazon now may get some more as they are a bit cheaper.

    on the euro 5 Himalayan the OEM relays are 4 pin and only rated 1 amp which will be why they fail I just replaced mine with Narva 20 amp relays btu i also have a bad fuel pump. if i leave the bike in the scorching Aussie sun it wont start ie Buzz from the fuel pump... but 12 volts at the pump for the initial prime. Once the bike cools down it will start
    I will have to order a fuel pump.

    Hallo Frank! Vielen Dank für deinen Kanal. Darf ich dir eine Fachfrage stellen? Ich musste nach einem Sturz mit meiner Himalayan die Blinker wechseln und obwohl ich wieder Halogenblinker verwende (nicht die Originalen), blinken diese zu schnell. Kannst du mir verraten, welches Blinkerrelais in der Himalayan verwendet wird? 2-Polig oder 3-Polig? Mach weiter so und viele Dank für deine informativen Videos....
    MfG Andreas aus HH

    Danke für das Video und Grüße aus Texas :) Did you replace all four of the top relays with the Hella brand?

      @Frank.Bordtfeld  2 года назад +1

      Yes, I have all replaced all Relais like you mentioned. By the way : I have been in Texas two month ago. Have a look to my video with the BMW 650 GS and the cactus in the background. Regards. Frank

    What brand would you recommend fir replacing the main starter relay (the one on the side that looks like a small barrel) I replaced the other two relays on my 2021 but after a while I start getting the same starting issues. Thanks for the suggestions 😊

      I also noticed that in several RUclips videos of 2021 Himis always shown 4 relays just like in yours. My 2021 has inly 2, any idea why this may be?

      Hey Tony, I've never heard of anyone replacing the main starter relay. If so, just go back to the original. It is important that you really replace all the small relays as I have described. Two relays sounds too little to me. There must be more, right. I replaced 5 pieces on the 2022. Greeting. Frank

    Where could we find the self relay in bs4(2019 model)?

    • @Frank.Bordtfeld
      @Frank.Bordtfeld  2 года назад +1

      Same position an in BS4... Under the seat, maybe you can't see it directly, it is a little bit deeper installed.. But you don't need the new Relais in BS4.. The bad Relais are only installed at BS5 (the newest himalayan series). Regards. Frank

    Hello Frank. Do you recommend buying this 2021 model? I'm seriously thinking of buying one, is there something that I should be aware of? Thanks

    • @Frank.Bordtfeld
      @Frank.Bordtfeld  2 года назад +1

      Hey... Definitely model 2021.it runs a little bit smoother than the previous ones (2021 has no choke, etc) and it has a little more options like emergency flasher, tripper navigation, switchable ABS, etc.
      No special things you should be aware of.... Only that you don't get get real power :-)
      Regards. Frank

      @@Frank.Bordtfeld Thank you for the answer. Yes the 24hp aren't much, but I won't be riding on the highways so I hope that it will not be an issue. Do you think it is reliable?

    • @Frank.Bordtfeld
      @Frank.Bordtfeld  2 года назад +2

      Yes reliable and easy to repair and fix... Cheap spare parts from India too... See my video where I rebuilt a totally burned himalayan for example . Regards. Frank
