Recovery from alcoholism and other addictions is not only possible, but probable IF we are willing to learn the truth about ourselves, and accept that the solution is to take action.
When people approach me, and ask about achieving sobriety, I tell them to look down at their feet. No one is going to bring sobriety to your doorstep. You have to go get it!
We have a saying in recovery, "Bring the body, and the mind will follow". Sobriety is no different than becoming an elite athlete, or musician, or a thousand other things. It requires PRACTICE. Once the physical practice is done on a regular basis, and positive results are occurring, the mind will reset in a way as never before.
30 years of practice has led me to 30 years of continuous sobriety, and it has been the greatest adventure of my existence! ✌❤ Mark

Oh my god, Matt. ❤ thank you. I'm trying hard. I'm falling in and out of sobriety. But I keep going, and I keep listening to you and all the others in this space, and I try to hear the voice within.

Without a support group of some kind, your "voice within" will eventually say, "It wasn't that bad". Think about all of the time, and effort you put into drinking in a single week. Now think about the effort that you have put into recovery, in ANY week you'd care to mention. I'd bet my last nickel that your effort at staying sober, is umpteen phucking miles from being close to your drinking endurance.
I sincerely wish you all the best Jeremiah, because I know first hand the terrible beating that alcohol lays on us!
