This is the perfect way how to make a continuation of old anime , keep everything good about it and just refresh the animation and adjust for technical difference .
I'd say the animation was great except for the cg integration but for a big return after 20 years they should have given Ryo something at stake. Diluting à scénario worth for 2 episode into à full movie doesn't bring out the best out of the characters. Diluting the threat level of your opponents doesn't do good either (is Ryo heroic for defeating some goons that a simple old guy with a pan can KO ?) Had Ryo been put in a situation he had never been in or had the vilain been à compelling one, they would have had a chance to make something excellent. Here the movie is entertaining but I'd rather see some old episodes (especially the ones where umibozu loses his sight and fight Ryo in a cemetary)
I love that they kept the old artstyle instead of changing it to _"fit the times"_ , or making it slightly more like newer anime style. This looks amazing.

That scene would be a lot more funny if similar things don't actually happen in real life. There is this one time in America where a small girl was given a full auto Uzi for god knows what reason and the small girl ended up losing control while spraying and shot her instructor in the head, instantly killing him. When I saw that scene it made me so nervous as irl these people all around her could have been shot including Kenshiro. Imaging her doming Kenshiro right on the spot that's the end of the story. sheesh
Kaori is actually quite an accurate shooter. It's just that Ryo secretly modified her gun to purposely miss so that she doesn't have blood on her hands. Kaori got around this by being good at making ricochet shots
What made me appreciate it even more is that they paid attention to how the manual of arms work with a weapon from H&K, especially if it is an MP5, which they literally made the contractor do the H&K slap on it. Now that’s a special attention to detail.
looks like they added a rush hour reference though given the fact that Saeba Ryo was played by jackie Chan once I dont need to complain cus that referene is great

There's anime like scientific rail gun and irregular high school now does different perspective of the characters. Sorry i didn't make sense, but those anime are connected to that anime but will have their own view and their show.
I remember in the old dubbed films they use to call ryo joe and umibozu falcon but in the new film they fixed the dub and finally call ryo and umibozu by their real names
