The great thing about Hepburn is she didn't need to have a body like Gina Lollobrigida, Marilyn Monroe or Sophia Loren. Her beautiness came from another side. Her refined shape, her angel face, her stately loveliness, reveals she was actually the daughter of a noble woman. And that beautiness was, without having an exceedingly flamboyant body, enough to charm an entire generation. She is still charming us
Oh, I didn't see that she actually made the Grace Kelly vid. Then I'm for sure o. k. with it. I love Grace very much. But as I'm a Soft classic myself, I was just eager for someone new. 😊
I would love to see Elizabeth Taylor! And that would change from Marilyn Monroe (although I love her) for Romantics. Furthermore, her makeup is not something that MM could pull off in my opinion despite being the same body type and being both very feminine and glamourous (is it because of contrast?)
Yes you are correct. The difference would be in the contrast. Liz had extreme contrast. Fair skin, black hair, deep blue eyes, was killer with a red lip. Real life Snow White.
This is such a good idea! I love her style. Although i am a Theatrical Romantic her style is so inspirational for anyone who wants to follow a more classic & low profile style.
I 'd like to let you know that the word you want to use is "childlike" or maybe "juvenile", not "childish". We use the word childish to say that someone is immature, for example. This is not supposed to be criticism, only a small correction. The video was great, just like all of your videos
no lets not correct these descriptive words. I am gamine and after a while, I realize dressing up in a youthful manner helps me. let's not police what we can and can use to describe stuff
@@shreeyasingh8948 childish doesn't mean youthful. It means immature, as I said. For instance, you can say "Your behavior is so childish, stop acting like that". Two synonyms for youthful are childlike and juvenile.

I'm soo grateful for this video because I have exactly the same type of body like Audrey which I couldn't really indentify in the other body types series as FG. At the beginning of my kibbe-journey I thought I am dramatic classic or just classic (my hight is 169 cm) and tried to dress up like this. Soon I found out it's not working, I looked tired and boring, and just not my energy. Comparing to my friend who actually is dramatic classic, she looked much heavier than me. Thanks to Audrey I found out my type although I think we're the taller-slim version of FG when a bit different things work on us 🤗
My height is 169, so I've heard a million times I'm "probably not gamine", and I've had exactly the same experience. I spent years trying to dress for the wrong type and just feeling like my personality was being drowned by my outfits. And I think I watched Sabrina and noticed that my body mirrors Audrey's, and it changed everything for me.
The 60s style sunglasses are super fun and look really nice on gamines. I also have a vintage pair of cat eye frames from the late 50s which are amazing, they’re much smaller then you’d except but they look super cool!
2:40 THIS (the picture on the right) IS WHAT HAS 100% CONVINCED ME I'm a Gamine! I HAVE THAT HIP TO WAIST RATIO! Even though I'm a slightly curvier gal myself, and I'm 5'4" which is the tall side of Gamine; I can still see that this is definitely my bone structure! I carry most of my fat around my waist and butt, but very little on my hips, making me look even more rectangular than most from the front, but softly curved from the side (telling me I'm probably a Soft Gamine). I have to wear mid-rise or low-waist jeans because they sit so nicely on my hipbones, as opposed to digging painfully into my flesh in the way high-waisted jeans do. I've been looking to Reese Witherspoon of late, seeinf how she pulls off a mid-waisted jean paired with a longer blouse which has waist definition. It gives the nice silhouette without the pain! Yay! I tied my hair up with a comb clip and instantly looked boyish around my facial features. Not unattractive, but _definitely_ NOT lush like Marilyn Monroe, nor long and sharp like Cate Blanchett. I also don't have the bluntness of a Natural. FINALLY I KNOW MY TYPE!!!!!!! THANK YOU ALY!!!!!!
Audrey Hepburn was underweight due to her family suffering hunger in war and started ballet dancing which is easier with a lighter frame. That explains her waistline.
Gamin doesn't mean teenage girl it means elvish. And her features are not childish. She had beautiful features. Her spirit was innocent, her features were stunning and feminine.
A childlike face is a round face with big eyes, small nose and small chin. Close to the proportions that an actual baby's face will have, before it develops its bone structure fully. I would personally add that a wide forehead makes you look very childlike as well. And those are all features that Audrey had. No one says she didn't look feminine, or that she wasn't beautiful, she was all of those things, but there was an innocence to her features, present at the same time
Wow! What a great video. I want to say thank you for making these videos. I learned about Kibbe from you and after taking the quiz I learned I am a Gamine, leaning flamboyant, and have a pretty similar bone structure to Aubrey. Using what I learned in your videos I went thrift shopping for an outfit to wear to 2 weddings this summer and found 2 outfits, a silk blouse and palazzo pants and a structured body con dress with high collar. I have never felt so confident in a look before! So thank you! ❤️
I think I'm a Soft Natural, based on what some women were saying in a comment thread about their bodies, but still not certain what type I am. If I could be ANY type, I'd choose Gamine--I love the fun, quirky, childlike, and playful looks they can pull off, and they NEVER have to worry about being too full anywhere. It's like dressing a mannequin or Barbie. Playing dress-up would be SO fun!
Perfect when the video started to draw some comparison to icons of other body types, really helpful as we (I) usually have difficulty noticing the difference among the style icons --- this tends to be the case for me whenever I look at pics of people really know how to dress and look harmonious. Stylish people know how to take pieces not common for their body type, but tailor it and or find exceptional pieces that work well with them.
Joan Crawford as a Dramatic would be an interesting video. I believe Kibbe typed her as Dramatic, but she had a huge head, broad shoulders, and shortish arms, and she was about 5 feet 4 inches. I would love to hear Aly explain how Joan Crawford is a Dramatic! Because Joan did look great in Dramatic lines and looks! 🤞👏

Hi Aly, I love this series and really appreciate your research and analysis. I’m not fussed about the varying opinions about the types - what I enjoy is your analysis of the evolution of the person’s styles, the elements that come together to create a signature style, adapting to trends, what works on that person based on their personality and body.. Thank you so much! As for a suggestion: I’ll throw Doris Day into to mix.
I’m a punk goth Flamboyant gamine. Bald or big outrageous wigs, harem pants, etc but I incorporate the black monochromatic looks or full skirts, pencil skirts she does. Huge balloon sleeves really look great on me or chiseled angles. Hepburn uses lots of geometry and proportions I have incorporated into my style too.
I would like you to surprise me with the choice of Theatrical Romantic style icon. I am thinking Ann-Margret, Vivien Leigh, Hedy Lamarr... I really don't have any idea who would be the best example as an style icon for TR body type.
First thing: Aly you look stunning! Sooo beautiful! Just amazing! Second: I adore Audrey and want to thank you for this video. Great work! I would like to see Meryl Streep next, because I think she is different and don't fits in a category. Thanks for all you do, Aly! Love from Germany, Sabine 😘
Brigitte Bardot please! I've seen some controversy on her kibbe type and I'm convinced she might be also a flamboyant gamine, what proves you can dress in a totally different style, as long as you respect your lines 🥰
Thankyou for making these videos...I'm so glad youre still doing this for us! Thanks t9 you I worked out Soft Natural works for me and it's made things so much easier.
Hi Aly, for Naturals i vote for 'Angelina Jolie', for Soft Natural 'Chloe Sevigny', for Dramatic Classic 'Olivia Munn, for Classic 'Grace Kelly', for Soft Classic 'Naomi Watts'. Aly, you have a big heart! Greetings from Germany.
I disagree, she's not toned. She seems to have a low body weight which just makes muscles (we all have) visible. There isn't much arms, glutes or hamstrings mass here (look up "audrey hepburn st.tropez beach"). I just want to point out how we often think thinness and low bodyfat% = being ripped, which is problematic. She is beautiful regardless.
@@trixi1608 I think there is that slight contrast still rather than blend, with soft cheeks, and sharp chi for example but i think, even though we don't see her in full, the she will have a balanced body but maybe shorter than classic. Kibbe deleted the pure natural classic and gamine, but I still think they exist. I am very curious to see how Aly types herself! She does still wear some gamine clothing with graphic design but they still feel more soft than flamboyant.. just to me. So, I'm going soft classic. Everyone is their own person if course and it's fun to play with our look. I'm stunned how good alylooked as Kate and Monica. There is a Naomi watts vibe I would love to see a whole video on aly's type and style but I think there's something to be said for keeping some privacy. I love this series. Similar series, but with current (last 5-10 years??) style icons. The pinterest boards help because we can apply suggestions to our own Kibbe types. I'd love to see princess Diana too! FN??
IU is ingenue. It doe not exist in kibbe but if ingenue exist in the sistem, she would be(small round circular shapes, because she looks very young and does not have the mature look that romantics have,or angularity that gamines have) this in Mcjimsey sistem.
Hello Aly, I love following you! I feel I have a Flamboyant Gamine body with a softer, more Soft Gamine face ( sweet, playful), even though I am a mature woman. Would I dress more for Flamboyant Gamine? I love Audrey Hepburns style. Thanks for what you do. 💕
I am a Flamboyant Gamine, but I'm much more curvy. However I have a long neck and big eyes like Audrey, and recently started wearing a fringe. Ever since, I tend to buy 60s clothing and straight jeans like a freak :))
Despite the fact that audrey is a flamboyant gamine, i think alot of her clothes would also look rly good on soft gamines too. Alot of blocking, color blocking, etc
Okay I have a question. I never liked chunky shoes, yet once I tried on chunky trainers and they looked SO good on me. Since then I've tried on chunky boots, chunky heels, etc and they look really good on me. I'm short, but I don't think I look short, not gamine or romantic, their lines look awful on me. Which type do you think would look good with chunky shoes?
@@mairadilimiti9877 I haven't figured that out. I suspect I'm either a DC or a G. But I am not sure. I have big feet and short legs and am small. sometimes chunky sandals aren't too bad but clunky white runners are a disaster.
@@notaclue822 it sounds like a gamine to me. I think if you take a pic of yourself and ask someone if you look short the answer would be pretty obvious. If you're short and look short you're probably gamine. If you don't necessarily look short, but not tall either, you're probably dc. Also I don't think that classics could pull off chunky shoes
after joining the SK group & the subreddits, i’ve began to wonder if Aly was a more petite soft natural! she looks divine in tousled hair, and her bones look blunt to me, even her facial bones. SN lines seem to look good on her too 💗

can you do a video on jennifer love hewitt, she looks very curvy yet is a flamboyant gamine, i'm curious about her clothes and outfits
Can you talk about Romy Schneider? Thank you so much
I need a flamboyant natural like Charlize Theron especially when they gained weight!
Plis a video from Shira Haas or IU. Or another a gammine. Gammines we do exist!
I heard the opinion that IU is a TR on a subreddit... idk is it true or not but I can give you a link on their analysis if you're interested !!
@@kelv5754 omg really? Yes please tahg would be very interesting
IU is ingenue. It doe not exist in kibbe but if ingenue exist in the sistem, she would be(small round circular shapes, because she looks very young and does not have the mature look that romantics have,or angularity that gamines have) this in Mcjimsey sistem.
Hello Aly,
I love following you!
I feel I have a Flamboyant Gamine body with a softer, more Soft Gamine face ( sweet, playful), even though I am a mature woman. Would I dress more for Flamboyant Gamine? I love Audrey Hepburns style.
Thanks for what you do. 💕
You are so pretty, Aly
Can you do more style reviews of flamboyant gamine?
Love this series xx
Thanks for this ! Can you do a video on short necks ?
Yes yes please do grace kelly soft classic!
Please do dramatic classic next!
Another suggestion: Judy Garland.
@@alp5260 Think so too..
I am a Flamboyant Gamine, but I'm much more curvy. However I have a long neck and big eyes like Audrey, and recently started wearing a fringe. Ever since, I tend to buy 60s clothing and straight jeans like a freak :))
Can’t wait for an video on Dramatics 🤩
Linda Evangelista would be a good choice, I think, because she has a more feminine look.
Despite the fact that audrey is a flamboyant gamine, i think alot of her clothes would also look rly good on soft gamines too. Alot of blocking, color blocking, etc
i love this type of videos "style review"
absolutely love her style Audrey
Loved this!! Thank you.
I can't answer your question, but I love chunky shoes and can't pull them off at all. Opposite problem.
@@notaclue822 really? What is your body type?
@@mairadilimiti9877 I haven't figured that out. I suspect I'm either a DC or a G. But I am not sure. I have big feet and short legs and am small. sometimes chunky sandals aren't too bad but clunky white runners are a disaster.
@@notaclue822 it sounds like a gamine to me. I think if you take a pic of yourself and ask someone if you look short the answer would be pretty obvious. If you're short and look short you're probably gamine. If you don't necessarily look short, but not tall either, you're probably dc. Also I don't think that classics could pull off chunky shoes
@@mairadilimiti9877 i don't think I do look particularly short. thanks.
love your videos
Loved this!!!❤️
after joining the SK group & the subreddits, i’ve began to wonder if Aly was a more petite soft natural! she looks divine in tousled hair, and her bones look blunt to me, even her facial bones. SN lines seem to look good on her too 💗
Laetitia Casta as a SN? FN? Lili Reinhart, Melissa Benoist as N also. I don't know examples of N types from the 20's, 30's, 40's etc :(
