As a violinist, I'll have to say, this was executed beautifully! I never would have thought this piece was possible to deliver with justice using a guitar but I guess I was just proven wrong. Excellent job!
Archie Bunker, you know, a lot of people all around the world listen good music. Some people might not know English as good as you. Don’t worry, be happy. From Russia, with love.
Come on guys, people who play this good must be use most of their time to practice. And practice also don’t equal as playing, playing guitar is a usually relax playing but practicing isn’t. If you want to be as good as these great guitarist you have to make an effort. Everyone have 24 hours only, as you and me.
I think most people don't understand how hard this is. First off, it was written for violin, which has a MUCH smaller scale and is tuned in fifths rather than fourths (and a third) which means you don't have to move your fingers as much as on a guitar. Second, this is (by some) considered the most difficult of the Caprices, as it integrates all the virtuosic techniques from the other twenty three. Third, it looks way easier than it is (meaning it's way harder than it looks). I've been playing guitar for a few years and I practice a LOT, and I can still only play an extremely simplified version of this, and without all the dynamic and tonal expression that she incorporates. Also, the technique of playing guitar is different from a violin. For the fast cross string parts, a violinist must only sweep the bow across the strings (which is still hard to control at that speed) but a guitarist (unless you're using a pick, in which case I don't think you are doing the piece justice) must individually pick each string. Also, I don't think any guitarist who hasn't attempted this piece can know how difficult it is. Looking at the sheet music, (after transcription) I thought it looked difficult, but still doable, about on the same level as other pieces I've played. Boy was I wrong. It looks way easier than it is. And as a violinist, I can say that, sorry, but it is much harder to play on guitar than on violin. So violinists, unless you've attempted this on guitar, you have no idea how impressive this is. Hats off to you, my lady. You are now on the list of people that inspire me to pursue greatness.
Stella Davis the only thing I can say is that this piece isn’t a piece. This is a technical demonstration of virtuosity, it’s kind of a status symbol “you can play the 24th caprice OH WOW” but that is not musical, it’s like a hard death metal piece...there are lots of piece that sound better of this (I’m speaking only about guitar cause I’m a guitarist) and are also virtuous [barrios - la catedral (the 3rd movement)]. That’s only my opinion
Too me the song is a technical piece but also a beautiful song. If done correctly like this young lady did then it is gorgeous. She put a lot of heart into too. Excellent!
@A. D.R. The fret is where the string contacts and creates the correct note. Remove the frets and your muscle memory is going to be on the wrong note. Also the spaces between the frets varies allowing the guitarist to not have to be precise before the string will always contact the fret in the correct place. With no frets the finger has to contact the correct place every time unlike when there are frets. Also what if you have a fretless guitar and are learning a new song? You're supposed to go learn it on a different fretted instrument first then go back to fretless? So fretless guitar players are incompetent? That makes no sense. Your very statements show your lack of understanding in how the guitar works. For clarification I play violin which I was taught in school and additionally I took a year long guitar ensemble course as well. The two instruments are not the same even when ignoring that the violin is both a plucked and bowed instrument.

impossible to imagine a higher level of artistry. Some of the Caprice comes off sounding awkward transposed to this instrument - but other parts I swear were lovelier in this performance than they could ever be bowed on a violin. Not just a showoff thing - oo Paganini! - something else, a reinvention
Yea that's fkin crazy her right hand position. I'm used to using thumb, fore finger and pick. Shes got some crazy arched, knurled straight finger technique going on 😁
@@wchurchill419 you do know what she's doing with that technique right ? this not the dumbed down version of artificial harmonics electric guitar players usually do
@@bleepbloop6234 No, because those are the harmonics for the open string. What she is doing is fretting the string, then with her right hand simultaneously both picking and touching. She picks the fretted string while also touching to create a harmonic that will now not be at the 12th fret but somewhere else. For every fretted position, the spot to touch for the harmonic will be somewhere else. The 12th fret position is 2/3rd of the string. So she has to touch the string at 2/3rd of the string from fret to saddle/bridge.
