Those who know, know. Those who don't are truly missing out! Evergrey are soooo tight! Love these guys. Sadly will never see them live on the east coast of Canada.

Holy shit does that new Evergrey sound good. Nolly is the real deal. The guitar tones are fantastic. I can't overstate how good they are.

YES! I'm so stoked for this record. My most anticipated release of the year🤘🏻 the first coffee with Tom introduced me to Evergrey and I'm so thankful! One of the greatest musical finds of my life.
Dude these guys are fucking hilarious together! 😂 It's like the two guys from the old Car Talk show, but they're guitar players.
Car talk is that what it was called with the 2 Brothers?haha what a great show that was.
Just love that Tom and Henrik seems to have so mutch fun together. These gentlemen are heroes to me! Really like both of their guitar playing styles and they have always inspired me. And just like Tom said about Murray and Smith, you just know after a great Mr Englund solo Henrik is coming to follow with a masterpiece as well.
Because of this Coffe with Evergrey I have found Evergrey for me. Great musicians! Love Cold Dreams. And due that I have found Jonas Renkse. What a great voice!

Love Evergrey and the Guitar Tone. Trying to get my genius friend* to create a IR of the Evergrey guitar tone, but we cant find a song on any album with only guitar so far, its always keyboards, vocals or drums at the same time, we need guitar only. Can some help us to find a song? *JZIR

Funny story similar to Tom talking about telling the difference between Adrian Smith & Dave Murray playing solos/melodies, there was one time I failed to tell if it was Tom or Henrik right IN FRONT of them! It was the song "My Allied Oceans" around when it first came out. The intricate melody after the first chorus, I thought Henrik played it. For context watching Evergrey live, I was standing so close to Tom (my left) and Henrik (my right), I could grab their legs. When that part came up, I looked to my right to face Henrik. I then realized Henrik is playing the riff instead. As soon as I turned to my left, Tom is standing right above me staring at me right in my face with this huge grin on his place. He plays that melody without missing a note! When he wraps it up, he just does a nod, stands back up, and returns to the microphone. I'm curious if Tom still remembers that because I did not expect it lol.

Ola never interviewed the most peculiar duo that changed the metal scene since the 90's, namely Fredrik Thordendal and Mårten Hagström. No other duo comes even close. Everything else are copies, as the case of all the Djent bands. There would be no Djent without Fredrik and Marten.
He did Per Nilsson though from Meshuggah. 🍻

But Fredrik Thordendal and Mårten Hagström are the GOATS, who are responsible for a movement that began to be developed, by the band, in the early 90s (Destroy Erase Improve 1995, Chaosphere 1998). No other duo, in the metal world, brought something as different, interesting and innovative as Fredrik and Marten. Especially Fredrik. Fredrik's solo album clearly shows that he was the main reason, along with Haake, that made Meshuggah one of the most influential bands of the last 3 decades, and the most influential when it comes to Djent.
I know Per Nilsson since his early days with Scar Symmetry. But, again, in the 90? Nothing comes close to Fredrik and Marten, as a duo, not only for playing well, as guitarists, but also for developing a particular style, within metal, that didn't exist before them.
What amp sim do they use?
I think they use the Nolly and Plini. I remember Tom using the Plini....

Love you Ola and Evergrey! This is one of those bands that seemed to always release a new album when I needed it most. Their songs have always affected and resonated with me much in the same way Katatonia does (which is why Cold Dreams blows my effing mind.) Ever since I heard The Mark of the Triangle I have been hooked. Through every tragedy and hard time I have been through, music has always saved me and during those times. Evergrey, Katatonia, The Haunted, and Hatebreed were the bands I depended on. Thank you all from the me that survived so far. Chug on 🤘🔥🧡🔥🤘
