Great video, I love your idea of sharing what you’ve done without simply making an “infomercial”. Buying the boat is the easiest part, but for me the rigging is what makes or breaks the experience of actually using it. While I’ve done many of the things you mentioned I still picked up a few tips that I’ll use in the near future. One suggestion to add would be the addition of a dedicated tool set to keep in the boat. It’s amazing how many times I reach for simple tools when something gets loose or needs adjusting. I opted for a tool roll type storage bag since it takes up very little room yet contains a lot of small tools. Thanks again for the video and the production quality.
Appreciate the feedback, Eric! I try to be as genuine as I can because I know everyone has different needs! I like that idea of a tool set up! I almost talked about that in this vid, but didn’t. That can be the difference in a trip ending or not is having the right tools! Thanks again for taking the time to comment!
The Drotto latch has been something I have used for the beginning of this season so far and it has been a game changer for me. Makes going solo or with the kids a breeze for unloading and loading the boat. Has been well worth the cost!
Great video. I carry almost the same things. The other stuff I carry isn’t just for the boat but mostly trailer and truck, I carry an impact, sockets for truck and trailer, general tool kit, hub kit, grease gun, spare bearing buddy, and a small jack.
Dock Stix are great! I've been using them for the past 3 seasons and they keep the boat off the dock in tough conditions. I've also made some using PVC, bungee cords, and furniture caps. Saves a few dollars and provides you the option to make them whatever length you'd like, but I use the Dock Stix. Great video!
Appreciate the insight! Always nice to hear that something actually works! Sometimes things look good in theory but don’t actually work. as this one does!
There are at least 3 satellite communication devices on the market. I have struggled to use the older InReach but it works. All the newest ones seem to have resolved many of the user interface issues. Look at the units and at the subscription costs when you are shopping. As always, great content.
Great info mate. Thanks. Do you drift fish much over there? We use sea anchors/drogues to either slow the drift, change the boat angle in relation to the drift, or for emergencies if you lose power and want to keep the bow into the wind/sea. Always had one on my boats. Thanks again. Much appreciated. Cheers 🍻
Thanks TJ! I like the line caddy and hair ties. Just an observation: you may want to rethink the lock cutters. If the hook is in your hand then using wire cutters with the free hand may be the way to go.
For sure! I had dealing with messy leader line! That is a very valid point and I appreciate that! When I bought those I was the thing if a client gets hooked I want maximum leverage, but wouldn’t work so good for me by myself! 😂 again, appreciate the advice!!
I have a little caddy that clamp on with a couple of those spring loaded clothes pin style clamps that wood workers use with a cup holder and a compartment where keep the few tools that I use throughout the day. That way I never have to look for stuff. I use to misplace things and then get frustrated with myself when I couldn't' find them. Good video.
Great info! What size battery do you find works best for you in your arclab? I'm pondering either 32ah or 50ah. Like the 50 for longevity, but hesitation is about weight when ice fishing vs 32ah.
I go for the biggest that I can get! I don’t do a lot of hole hopping carrying my shuttle. I usually pull everything in a small sled, so I don’t worry about weight too much. With filming I want as much power as possible, so I go big!
I had your exact same concern. However I put the smaller of the bags (3600) under my seat and it doesn’t seem to be overly impeding. Will have a better feel in a couple weeks when I get out on the water. The larger bag (3700) I stashed under the back pedestal where I have my livescope shuttle mounted so no space concerns there!
This is really good! I do not have a larger boat as you do TJ but space and function with easy access is important to fisherman! You have shown a few new ones for me. Also, a surprising note… I looked at your location and realized you are located near Hubbard off of 87, as I also am, but to the East. 😎👍🏼
At 9:07 of your video you are showing a dock line snubber...that particular style you show doesn't keep your boat off the dock but they do a really good job of shock absorbing so you don't get that sudden jolt from large waves when your boat is tied up. Just need to get the proper size for your boat and line that you are using.
Ahhh got it! Thanks for the clarification! I think I was looking for the “dock sticks” which do the part of keeping it away from the dock. Again, appreciate the insight!
They aren’t cheap, but well worth it for the power and the weight! Just be careful when buying because there are so many “cheap” knock offs that do not have good track records. Can’t wait for opener!! You sticking around home?
@tjsguideservice I will be on the cass Lake chain. I have a seasonal on big rice, which is connected to little rice, kitchi, cass lots of good fishing. I just picked up mega live. I can't wait to try it out
@@tjsguideservice Ha, ha! And a second time. The second two-game series they swept your boys again. I haven’t been following it much, but my alumni emails highlighted it. A proud moment for the program apparently. ;)

Don’t waste your time going to the hospital for getting hooked. Just push it through or rip it out using the line trick. The doctor is going to do way more damage they way they do it than using the line trick.
7:33 I am totally confused as to why you need that on a boat that you installed lithium batteries on already! Other than low temp charging protection, a 100Ah lithium battery with an inverter on a boat will go all day for radios and still have plenty left to make coffee. And a small coffeemaker takes less space than that ‘powerbox’ Just my opinion. The only moveable stuff I want on my boat is rods and Annette (whoever she is she’s always been with me)

I would agree! No more getting wet! It may not be 100% necessary for a bunk trailer but I like the peace of mind for sure!

We have by using them shock absorbers four years on our pontoon boat takes a lot of stress off of the cleats on the boat and on the dock
