Hi MD, please watch the Apistogramma species closely. I’ve over 10 years of experience in keeping apistogramma pairs in a 60cm tank. Get ready to pull them apart if one of them wants to breed and the other doesn’t. It’s mostly the male who kills the female if he wants to breed and the female will kill the male if she has fry... The Apistogramma hongsloi is not a pairing species, but a harem species. However you won’t be able to keep multiple females in a 60cm tank. For ease of mind, next time go for 1 male with 4 females in a one meter tank :)
I’ve recently got a pair of Borelli in an 80cm and I must admit, the female is much fiercer than I expected. I’ve been keeping a close eye on them as I’m a little concerned shes chasing the male away any time he gets close. Doubt there is fry yet as they’ve been in there less than a week and she doesn’t mind the tetras getting close.
Think I’d be sticking some algae wafers in with 27 detritus feeders! Although in reality Otos have quite a high mortality rate so that number could easily half in a week or so sadly!
This is likely my favourite tank that you've done. It's got a grace to it, and the substrate colour and white background really highlight the plants in a lovely way. Thank you!

Apistogrammas don't necessarily need to be a male and a female. They thrive when the male has a harem of 3 females. Just in case you go back and there are still females left. 😅🤭
Do you feed your otos, amanos, snails, and siamese algae eaters any extra food? That tank looks super clean to have enough natural food for all of them!
@@gollumtheartisticnewt1028 if you have microscopic algae and biofilm that's probably what they're grazing on. I've also noticed mine eating detritus or mulm before
Julii or false julii (I somehow have a mix of both) are my absolute favorites - So adorable! I like to pronounce it “Julie” because they’re collectively named “Downtown Julie Browns” in my house :)
I notice you keep saying the room is heated so the water temperature is the same. But surely the water will be colder than the ambient air temp? The cichlids, both the rams and the apistos will like it nice and warm. You wouldn't be wearing a hoodie in that room if it was warm enough for them
I should imagine the kettle of fish saying comes from an old cooking device. There was an oblong shaped pot called a salmon kettle used for poaching fish whole. 👍love your videos bud.
Hey dude, a word of caution with the Siamese algae eaters and the hongsloi, they really don’t like being bugged by other species and the Siamese are like a raver on crack, would be worth keeping an eye on how they get along. Great series !

Strange, I have been reading that the False Julii can grow to 2". I am currently re-scaping a tank (100cm x 40 x 40), hard scape all done but there seems to be a shortage of plants at the moment. Hoping to go with the smaller salt & pepper corys
FOR SURE a schooling fish. I have a smaller tank than that and everything working great - black widow tetras, electric tetras, guppies, swordtail female fish, bristle nose blencos and cory's. All doing great. People told me I'm over stocking my tank - but then why is it doing so well?

get some pencilfish they are my favorite dithers, they do need small food.
That tank should be at least 80 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit but you said it was 69 in the last video

This much bio load with a small hang on filter curiously waiting for updates😉
I could do this with no filter to be honest. Would need 75% daily water changes for about a week and then the plants would take over.
What fertilizers do you use?

Danios tend to be cooler fish, doubt the temperatures would be too compatible. Pencilfish tho.
