    Super detailed, loving it! Watching Gundam as a child enabled to appreciate engineering as an adult. Imagine if these were real scaled, the amount of human and machine effort is needed to forge and CNC each component. Those black panel lines just provided a glimpse of the number of parts needed just for a single panel. Unreal.

    Quick question, how does your magic sculpt not stick to your part? Do you apply some sort of grease to the plastic before applying the magic sculpt?
    Thanks!

  • @tonyelliott5045
    @tonyelliott5045 3 месяца назад

    I like everything about this. The only feedback I have is for the part you molded inside the shoulder. I would've added some sort of propulsion or gas vent there, which is a normal thing to see on gunpla in that position. Having just panels doesn't make mechanical sense to the gunpla function. Great work though, I will experiment with the molding material.

      Is that what I used to erase the panel line? It's a super glue. If I got it wrong, please ask me again.

    Hi , really love your work man. I’m just wondering what shrinkage do you mean at the beginning? Because I would love to do this to my kit someday.

    • @neoroxx
      @neoroxx 4 года назад

      those are plastic shrinkage during the molding process, usually happens on some thick parts with structure beneath it. Look at the initial sanding, you'll see some parts are actually deeper than the rest. This can usually be fixed with some sanding. Severe shrinkage needs putty to fill in those gaps

    Can i know what is magic sculpt ? Is that a normal putty or something else ? ❤

  • @brettharvey2530

    for those people who don't know what shrinkage looks like on a molded part, take some saran/plastic wrap...lay it flat then slightly pull it towards the center with your fingers...those crinkles are what its going to look like, but on a smaller scale...it can also look almost like feathery lines if its not as severe

    Amazing work! Is it easier if you just mold the custom piece for the other shoulder with the magic sculpt?

    • @RAVIPLA

      I designed it myself. I sketch until I have a panel line pattern that I like.

    Will non-epoxy air dry clays work? Great video! As soon as I get my scribers I'm ready. Im currently making a HG 1/60 stryke Gundam open hatch. Lots of pieces to be made, since there is no subframe. FUN.

    • @RAVIPLA
      @RAVIPLA  5 лет назад +1

      Magic sculpt is a material similar to epoxy putty. Magic sculpt is also air dry.

  • @boymahn

    If i may ask...What do you call that transparent tape?

  • @d-rockpain4250
    @d-rockpain4250 5 лет назад

    Waiting on scribers to get here. Using some files, knife, sheet plastic, and hand press to do some layering while I wait. Cut some room in the "feet" so that the hatch open hydraulic lifts the foot cover (off and forward) exposing some fancy metalic paints on the ankle of my HG 1/60 strike gundam. Guess I will fill the feet with colored wire to simulate hydraulic lines in foot. I am using a cheap common 1/60 as practice. Hopefully I can make the whole thing hatch open, but inner skeleton to work from isn't making it easier. Thanks for the videos and encouragement.
