Man, I’m only just getting into customizing gunpla, and here is this guy completely redesigning them! I will say this really makes me want to do a custom design that I’ve had in mind lately. Looks super impressive, and certainly inspires a lot of creativity.
I've always admired your work but that sculpting just took it to a whole new level. Thank you for putting so much time and effort into sharing this with others.
Super detailed, loving it! Watching Gundam as a child enabled to appreciate engineering as an adult. Imagine if these were real scaled, the amount of human and machine effort is needed to forge and CNC each component. Those black panel lines just provided a glimpse of the number of parts needed just for a single panel. Unreal.
Wow its an honour to see you work, absolutely amazing. You're workstation is so neat and clean, you're attention to detail is impeccable. Truly speechless.
Jeez Ravi everytime I see one of your thumbnails I'm just reminded how shit I am at scribing. The amount of change you bring to a boring simple piece of the gunpla is insane
I've been watching your work over the last few weeks, and I am very impressed with it! It's motivated me to do some custom work of my own. As much I ordered a MG Strike ver RM to play around with.
im just getting into gunpla and watching stuff like this is so inspiring! The time it must take to do all of this work must be insane lol but damn it looks so good in the end. I hope to be this good some day :D
I love your use of putty. You would enjoy miniatures aswell probably. Conversions are a lovely thing. I'm new to gunpla, your conversion skills are more interesting than the usual line panelling with paint etc.
😭 Thank you for waiting. I will try not to be too late next time. The video is a bit long, but please watch it until the end. Thank you.
your vidoes are memorizing man, it really is something to watch these with the music you play. Its almost like im set in a trace watching your hands dance.
Amazing! Quick question, how does your magic sculpt not stick to your part? Do you apply some sort of grease to the plastic before applying the magic sculpt? Thanks!
I like everything about this. The only feedback I have is for the part you molded inside the shoulder. I would've added some sort of propulsion or gas vent there, which is a normal thing to see on gunpla in that position. Having just panels doesn't make mechanical sense to the gunpla function. Great work though, I will experiment with the molding material.
This all looks like a very tedious, difficult paint in the ass, and the result is beautiful! kudos to the time and effort you put into honing this skill.
It takes hours to create, most of the time the design not satisfy and sketching keeps going 😂. Better come out with a clear picture before engraving, else filling unwanted engraved lines is a nightmare😭
Hey man, I really love your work here, and I just want to ask: where did you buy the magic sculpt? Could you please send me the url for that? I deeply appreciated!
Hi, i have a question: these panels you make, you follow some guide or pictures, books, something with where to put the lines (anything with a detailed picture, like a drawing)? Or it's all by practice and you already know what to do? Thank you for all the leasons!!!
I used to build Gundam's back when I was younger and Gunpla wasn't even a concept....just people building models. And even then with just fine tip markers and spray paint I was considered one of the better modelers in my area at age 15...but this just puts me to shame! I would definitely love to apprentice under you now that I am looking to begin my hobby new again! :)
Damn! I could actually start doing this to my gunpla! I just need the chisels. But I won't. Because this takes lots of time and patience, and while I'm pretty patient, I'm not THIS level of patient. I'll just stick to my airbrushing and panel lining for now.
You know how long I've been waiting for your next video? I thought you're a deadman, but now I'm happy to know that you're still breathing and producing this cool tutorial video I've been waiting for. Thank god~
Very detailed work! It is awesome! I would like to ask for a list of the scribing tape, hand tools/chisels/scribers you are using and where you purchased them. Also, do you sharpen them yourself? I lived in Japan for 4 years and have some small tools and different paints and putties. I miss my hobby shops on Okinawa. I am looking forward to your finished Gundam.
those are plastic shrinkage during the molding process, usually happens on some thick parts with structure beneath it. Look at the initial sanding, you'll see some parts are actually deeper than the rest. This can usually be fixed with some sanding. Severe shrinkage needs putty to fill in those gaps
for those people who don't know what shrinkage looks like on a molded part, take some saran/plastic wrap...lay it flat then slightly pull it towards the center with your fingers...those crinkles are what its going to look like, but on a smaller scale...it can also look almost like feathery lines if its not as severe
Will non-epoxy air dry clays work? Great video! As soon as I get my scribers I'm ready. Im currently making a HG 1/60 stryke Gundam open hatch. Lots of pieces to be made, since there is no subframe. FUN.
Waiting on scribers to get here. Using some files, knife, sheet plastic, and hand press to do some layering while I wait. Cut some room in the "feet" so that the hatch open hydraulic lifts the foot cover (off and forward) exposing some fancy metalic paints on the ankle of my HG 1/60 strike gundam. Guess I will fill the feet with colored wire to simulate hydraulic lines in foot. I am using a cheap common 1/60 as practice. Hopefully I can make the whole thing hatch open, but inner skeleton to work from isn't making it easier. Thanks for the videos and encouragement.

beautiful work, but now after seeing this I can't unsee how bad they come right out the box.
Thanks for watching.
That's part of the fun, for me at least.
They usually come out the box anime accurate though.
@@BlackMantisRed It seems a lot people don’t understand that. I’ve tried explaining to others before.
I've always admired your work but that sculpting just took it to a whole new level. Thank you for putting so much time and effort into sharing this with others.
I hope it helps you. Thank you 😀
i'm in shock by the way you create new parts using magic sculpt...it's just brilliant.
Keep it up Ravi!
Thanks :D
You've inspired me to do custom work on a Gunpla for the first time. I've always just done straight builds. Thank you.
I'm glad I could help you. Thanks :D
Im trying a hatch open, and cutting perfectly good pieces is nerve racking at first.
Ditto, I actually just ordered the chisel for making panel lines, $13 on eBay.
Wow. I'm not even airbrushing/painting yet and I see this. I'm not just far from this level, I'm light years away.
Try this one at a time. It's not far.
Me too bro lol just getting my feet wet
Although, light-years measure distance, not time.

*Uses like 1 or 2 water slide decals and maybe fills in a seam line or two*
>_>
Incredible work my friend.
The hardest part is doing another similar work on the opposite shoulder🤣, keep it up bro!
It is not difficult to make the same thing on the other side. The most difficult thing is to create a design. 😭😭
It takes hours to create, most of the time the design not satisfy and sketching keeps going 😂. Better come out with a clear picture before engraving, else filling unwanted engraved lines is a nightmare😭
That's right. I take a picture of a good design, erase the sketch, and draw a different design again. 😂
Imagine doing this to 1/100 scale kit, to every part..
then got destroyed by your children
I will destroy the children if i must.

Trick is... to not have any children.

Hi, i have a question: these panels you make, you follow some guide or pictures, books, something with where to put the lines (anything with a detailed picture, like a drawing)? Or it's all by practice and you already know what to do?
Thank you for all the leasons!!!
You're like an artisan of panel line, I wish I could have 50% of your talent T_T
Thanks.
What tape do you use as guide for scribing? Scotch tape? Or another kind of tape?
it's called carving guide tape by HIQ parts or you can use regular dymo tape
Wow man. Great work. You've given me a bunch of ideas! I like your video flow and edits as well. Thanks for the content!
Thanks 😀

Very nice video. Awesome details. I’m looking forward to seeing more of your work. I also follow you on IG
thank you so much 😄
What are these sticky translucent tapes you use to guide the chisel?
what is that white extra plastic you add on at 13:45? is it resin? where do you buy it?
How do you maintain the curvature of the piece after you sand it with the flat file?
you need to file along with the curve. It takes time to get use to but it's definitely possible to do
Do you have advice for keeping corners so sharp? Mine always go round, yours are very sharp!
Please refer to this video. ruclips.net/video/uhy1AwiMbrU/видео.html from 8:37
This is awesome!! What tool is that metallic gigantic sanding brick??
What is the sanding stick youre using? that looks way easier to hold being that thick.
Do people sell these super detailed versions?
Id like to buy one at this level one day as a centerpiece

Thanks for watching.
it's exactly the movie that I wanted to see so far. Thanks : )
What's that clear plastic looking tape stuff called I would like to try some of this stuff out
it's called carving guide tape by HIQ parts or you can use regular dymo tape
i cant even panel line properly, then comes this guy. i feel attacked. anyway, amazing work!!
hello! I am completely new to gunpla building, but this is what I want to do one day! Thank you for the inspiration!
Amazement Never Ends , Incredible Work
Wow!!! Great work I love watching your videos. Keep inspiring. What liquid filler did you use?
Is that what I used to erase the panel line? It's a super glue. If I got it wrong, please ask me again.
What type of super glue is it? I was curious as well
Ravi, what kind of Chisels and Tape are you using?

Hi , really love your work man. I’m just wondering what shrinkage do you mean at the beginning? Because I would love to do this to my kit someday.
those are plastic shrinkage during the molding process, usually happens on some thick parts with structure beneath it. Look at the initial sanding, you'll see some parts are actually deeper than the rest. This can usually be fixed with some sanding. Severe shrinkage needs putty to fill in those gaps
Can i know what is magic sculpt ? Is that a normal putty or something else ? ❤
for those people who don't know what shrinkage looks like on a molded part, take some saran/plastic wrap...lay it flat then slightly pull it towards the center with your fingers...those crinkles are what its going to look like, but on a smaller scale...it can also look almost like feathery lines if its not as severe
Amazing work! Is it easier if you just mold the custom piece for the other shoulder with the magic sculpt?
Make two shapes and work alternately.
You're a master at designing panel lines! Will you be showing the painting process?
Yes, I will upload the video of the painting process.
That was so awesome!! Amazing detail looks much better than the kit form
What is the clay thing you use to make another custom part?
Absolutely stunning!!!But how do you decide where to put those panel lines? Are there a reference? Or you just improvised??!
I designed it myself. I sketch until I have a panel line pattern that I like.
RAVI PLA Wow unbelievable!! You have a great sense then!! Such marvelous craftsmanship
Thanks for the compliment 😄
Will non-epoxy air dry clays work? Great video! As soon as I get my scribers I'm ready. Im currently making a HG 1/60 stryke Gundam open hatch. Lots of pieces to be made, since there is no subframe. FUN.
Magic sculpt is a material similar to epoxy putty. Magic sculpt is also air dry.
If i may ask...What do you call that transparent tape?
It's hard to translate exactly what you say. But I'm looking forward to the work you're making.
Is that putth that youre using for the small shoulder part?
You are a master craftsman! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
