Cody, I saw your dual survival series a year ago for the first time, and was inspired and amazed by your philosophy of "human" survival, and survivability. I think your an inspiration to us all, and I am grateful for your informative and innovative methods. The whole planet should take a page out your book, and really the book of humanity, and learn to live more sustainably. U rock sir!
Love Cody!! I would love to live with him for a couple of months to see first hand and learn how he lives the way he does. Much respect for him....and holy crap is he buff
Cody, I miss ya buddy!! I hope to hear more of you sometime soon. Always my favorite from the "dual survival" series. If you have anything new going on, I hope you somehow reach out to show me, and the rest of the world/Cody fans!
I always loved dual survival but the original with Dave and Cody. Dave was the risk taker and Cody was the life saver. It was great drama but respect at the same time.
I'm so in love with your house its using mother nature to her true capability to help her fellow man! The stone windows as well as the broken mirror windows! Ingeniously designed!! Loved you in dual survival sorry for the ending the way it did! Would ABSOLUTLY LOVE to see some sort of reunion show of sorts! Looking forward to meeting you!!
This would be really interesting if the camera work, sound and editing had been remotely good. Seemed to cut out all the good information and sped a lot of time wobbly following Cody to the interesting aspects of the house.
This dude is really cool. I couldn't believe his sense of humor and ability to start a fire with 2 STICKS in like 15 seconds, that was amazing. Check out Dual Survival sometime if you get the chance.
I love to watch all his episodes on TV I'm watching it right now it's crazy how he doesn't wear shoes or boots in cold weather especially when there is a lot of snow I give him credit for that I don't think I can do that 2023

I thought I would drop a message on this old video. I remember seeing Cody in person at a Hastings book store in Prescott, Arizona when I lived there about 20 years ago. I remember thinking why is this store allowing a bare footed man to walk around in the store? I guess you get barefoot privilege's when you are an author of a book available in the store. He is such and inspiration to others.
solar panels and car battery grid i would guess. thats the moest effective way. to Cody... very cool very earth friendly. you are a role model for us all.
Cody Lundin, I have been watching your show all the way from the Philippines. I am a big fun of Dual Survival...ohhhhh I love your show. and this house is THE bomb!
OK, you have to love the last two comments or so (if you have a sense of humor!) Made me laugh very loud and well, whatever.. anyway, thx Cody for sparking my interest in living a bit differently. I really enjoy your TV / web stuff and find you interesting with alot to offer! (more than I ask of most folks and I sure don't know you to ask of anything.. so thanks)
His house is just like a wine cave .here in northern CA wineries will dig a cave to store and age there fine wine.and it's amazing how cool it stays inside .I've shotcreted a few entry ways to caves ,it's fun work .
Great video! What I like about Cody is that he never pumps his head up trying to get the viewers to like his videos. BS is obvious to some people! He seems to live what he preaches.
Cody did mention in one of the episodes, and it makes perfectly sense, that one tend to be more observant and careful were one put his feet when walking barefoot. One might think that you are more in danger of snakes and alike but it's actually the opposite, your slower pace and cautiousness prevents you from getting in to these situations in the first place and most boots would not protect you from snake-bites anyway, in that case you need a pair of snake gaiters and they are damn hot to wear.
Agree with other comments, "Shoot the Editor!" Let the man speak some of us are really interested in the what's and whys that he has to say- so the Editor doesn't get it, LOL
Cody has some outstanding and useful insights. Excellent and practical, but style wise, if I survive the end of the world I DO NOT want to be stuck in a circa 1971 Billy Jack supporting cast retirement home forever.
I hope Lundin is aware of how fortunate he is in being able to live the way he wants to. So many people are too domesticated and afraid of losing the modern comforts to even attempt an earth friendly life.
i don't know what to call Cody, but what i think the best description is: is a cool, down to earth guy who has made his own style and he works-out a little to much and is a little bit of a hippie!! tell me what you think
Passive solar distill potable--DIY to make those, easy. For regular household, just filters. LOTS to choose from, whether whole-house, pumped or gravity filters. FORGET chemicals--poison. Pre-filter tank contents: roof water [enamel paint metal, preferred]....either cover roof with something that acts as a filter before hits collection pipes, or stuff collection pipes with loose filter stuff, or, water to tank roof with same.
I agree with you. What a tool. The producer made this video about himself mostly and that comment that he said that Cody is "attempting to live a lifestyle" is pure crap. He isn't attempting it, he's doing it! And then he goes off singing. I don't know about the rest of you but it seemed to me that he was poking a certain amount of fun at Cody. That's something that really got under my skin.
@jscanyon Nice setup. A Jeep, that would have been my next guess. Bath House... I must take a guess that he's using a gravity shower then. That's a setup I wouldn't mind having. Nice and peaceful, everything you need is right there. No reason to worry about anything if it's done right. I'm looking at buying 20 acres up closer to Flagstaff so I can get away from the high heat. In the East Valley right now, and I don't see something like this viable here, as there's no water.
What the hell was that hippy chant the interviewer did right before the credits!?? Weird. Also, Cody has to be one of the coolest dudes on the planet. And he's a giant -- the fact that a self-styled mother-earth-loving survivalist is that yoked just entertains the shit out of me.
@vwcoop Actually, most of the reason solar is even economical for the average household is because many utilities companies buy power back from consumers at twice to four times the rate charged. Of course, if you're not grid-tied, you don't get this benefit. You either have a household surplus or you don't -- being grid tied means you don't have to have batteries and you don't have to burp off the surplus. You actually get paid for the excess.
Cody is really living. He gets it. I only watch dual survival with Cody...also I think he would be great with his own series somewhere. Hope to meet him one day. Peace
