They were not stablised like the pilots said. Basically the aircraft needs to be in landing config (flaps full, spoiler armed, on the landing speed, etc) by 1000ft. They basically weren't in the landing config so they did a go around

Every landing is a potential.. GO AROUND!! Look at any video of carrier landing and the aircraft at the point of "trapping " the cable with the tail hook is ready to bolt and take off again...( most people won't see it happen ..but the maneuver is there.
