- In the nation’s 15 largest cities, it takes nearly a month to see a new physician or heart doctor, and more than a month to see an OB/GYN. For some specialists, the wait is even longer. NBC News’ Dana Griffin has more on why wait times are surging and speaks with one doctor who says the situation is a crisis.

This is not ok. A year out for some appointments, six months for others. I have been told to go to urgent care if I want to see someone. It needs to be fixed.
I can see a doctor the same week I call within 2 days.

Too many people. Saw this coming when I was 16. Very depressing. I suffer daily and still can’t get help.

Doctors are overstretched. I'm not in America but I've never gone to see a doctor since 2001. When i get sick i know the medication i need and will go to the nearest pharmacist. I hardly do check ups.

@@ChrisTopherBunnell huh?? excuse me?? i said nothing about the VA. and civilians and veterans should both have highquality healthcare period. veterans shouldn't have to wait 6 months, and rural civilians shouldn't have to wait 15 months. it isn't a sympathy competition you can pipe down sir, did you take you anti-psychotics?

Imagine being a disabled war veteran and not having the option to walk out and go somewhere else. Oh wait, thanks to Biden's VA, I now have the option to go to my preferred provider if the VA slows down again.
Paperwork? Is she kidding? Here’s a thought, hire help. This is an excuse. Even before ACA, my doctor kept me waiting weeks before I could see him. In the case of the specialist in this little girls case, her GP should have insisted that the specialist make an except to see her.
she's not kidding. You are obviously no doctor or have a phd of any kind so you couldn't understand, because if you did, you would know only doctors/providers can write and sign charts on patients they examined.

ER visits were my only option for for the first ten years I spent after returning from Iraq with disability.
