A major drawback for any customer is the absence of lens shift.
All projectors without lens shift should be able to shift the active image to the bottom or top of the projected screen so that we can have double bars on the top or the bottom.
That way the image at least can be lower or higher on our screen. For 2.35:1 content that is.
Respectable characteristics though, if set up correctly it should produce a convincing picture.

Looks insanely bright. The deciding factor would be the black level and color.

They’re talking ANSI Lumens… so, definitely bright.
Agree on blacks. And that was impossible to judge in the expo environment.

Great Video! How does the Hisense C2 Ultra Picture & Image compare to the new JVC - NZ500 Picture? I am really curious to know how the Hisense C2 Ultra Picture stacks up to the JVC - NZ500 Picture Image? I realize that JVC cannot be beaten in blacks so please do NOT factor that in your response.

They are two separate beasts. The C2 is meant to be portable: place it in your living room, aim it at a wall, let it sort the picture out, watch... then, pick it up and place it outside for a movie night on the deck. That sort of thing. The JVC is a place it once projector. So, from that perspective they are entirely different.
As for Picture and Image, unfortunately, you can't escape from blacks because contrast is the #1 factor that will drive your perception of image quality. Next is color accuracy... then resolution.
I didn't get a chance to see the C2 in a dark environment, but I'd put good money on the JVC besting the Hisense in terms of contrast and color accuracy... and I'd also predict that image processing (particularly tone mapping) would fall in the JVC column as well.
Again, they aren't really comparable products from a category perspective. If you want higher-level movie viewing, JVC is going to give that to you. If you want ease of set-up, portability, and the ability to use the projector in a wide variety of settings, then the C2 is the way to go.

@@av_nirvana I doubt that. You're not taking this product seriously enough, nor is the salesperson and how he is pitching the sales pitch.
Built in dolby vision tone mapping capability at 3000 lumens, with a fresnel ALR screen would get it dangerously close to sony, jvc and epson, in terms of overall picture quality.

@@sammy10001 Perhaps. Just speaking from experience. We'll see how it plays out once the unit starts shipping.- you could very well be right!
