My Howa 1500 ss 24” bolt action did a 5 shot clover leaf a 100 yards using Aussie outback ammo 69 grain hpbt. My Howa 1500 22” bolt action did the same using the same ammo. When I tried different ammo ,Winchester 55 grain fmj & Norma 55 grain fmj the groups blew out to about 1 3/4 at the same distance. I haven’t done any reloads at this stage as I’m amazed at the results I’ve achieved accidentally. Normally it’s painful trying to achieve those results ........ Also I was using large scopes on the rifles at the time 🇦🇺
That rifle is definitely a shooter. Can't go wrong with a Howa. My Weatherby Vanguard VGX .30-06 is stocked by Weatherby but the barreled action is made by Howa. I can see this being a great rifle for you.
That gun is a shooter. It is disappointing when a vintage scope doesn't adjust with each click. I think the more you work with it the better it will get. Looks like you found the load as well. Nice video!
It looks like it wants to shoot, Toad! I’ll run the scope more, I think it will come around. If it doesn’t, I may send it off to be frozen, and go with external adjustments on a bench gun. It’s certainly a joy to shoot with.
Why would you even worry about chrono data when you put 5 in the same hole ? I've found that all my 223 rifles will shoot well with 23 to 25 gr of H335 . It is my go to powder . It's great for 30 -30 too . I would stick with that powder charge and OVL and zero the scope .
It certainly shows potential with that load. The balance of the prepped brass is on the bench, I’ll load more and see If I can print more groups like that. Thanks for watching Mr. Pollard!

I estimated what should work in this one; and was fortunate to see success in just a few shots. Thanks for the note!
Nice group Chap! Congratulations on 500.
Thanks JCM45! I’ll see if I can back that group up… 🤪
Some days are like that :) It is definitely a shooter!
Indeed they are! I’ll load another batch and see if I can repeat the group. Thanks for watching!
Great work brother! It dialed in eventually and you had some good groups! I enjoyed it 🙂🇺🇸👏👏👍
We’ll see if I can do it again! Thanks for watching. 👍
Beautiful setting. Great five shot group. Congrats with your Son!
It really started to sink in when he sent pictures of his dorm room all set up this evening! Thanks for the note Uncle John.
Nice Shooting Chap! 👊😎🇺🇸
Thanks! The rifle seems to have potential - I’ll see if I can repeat the performance. I appreciate the note. 👍

It seems like it will be a good performer, Travis. I’m looking forward to printing more groups and learning more about it.
@@WilliamCChapin I'd keep going with that load and then the final zeroing in. You look like you have the right recipe.
@@travischapin886 I’ll run some more of those… 👍

That gun shoots! Now go get you a good scope, the gun is worthy of a GOOD scope.
It’s off to a decent start with the first 11 rounds - I’ll see if I can repeat it! Thanks for watching, Larry Vin. 👍
my god what a lot of inane waffle
I’ll have it out again soon to see if it’s repeatable. Thanks for the note, @Brian Solomon!
