Pretty surprised that they parked it at a remote stand. On the upside, you get to plane-spot on the ramp for a bit. My 747 trip through FRA is only a few weeks away.

Yeah its not every day that you can board the 747 by the stairs. In FFM it does happen though. They use many outer positions such as the cargo ones

Lufthansa should have left the -400 at the scrap yard and brought the preferable A380 (customers' favourite) back to the fleet.
I am disagreeing with you. 747 are better than A380. 747 is one of best aircraft and most beautiful :)

To replace 747 for new 777X, once they receive first 777X then 747 fleet could reducing following more 777X delivery.
