Here in Singapore pigeons love nesting in the elevated viaducts of our metro lines, which are constructed as huge, hulking concrete structures. They especially love getting inside the gaps between the viaduct spans and the columns/piers, where they nest and raise their chicks. These concrete structures are essentially man-made replicas of their natural cliffside habitats, which is probably why they are so attracted to them. Of course this has resulted in a lot of pigeon poop covering these viaducts, and the metro operator has tried to keep them out of the viaducts by covering the gaps with wire netting, to not much avail - the pigeons still manage to find a way around the netting, somehow. They are basically outsmarting the humans who run our metro system, lol.
