- Fix it guide - Vintage Action Man Sea wolf restoration part 2
I came up with a fix for the broken periscope mount, and also a new attachment for the front camera and pincers.
Watch part 1 here: • Vintage Action Man Sea...

The milk jug fix on this is sheer brilliance, love it!
Pretty creative the repair for the camera
Nice one Dave
The milk carton fix is brilliant!
I can almost see Misses Toy Polloi and you sitting at the breakfast table. The Misses goes : "Dave, why are you looking at the milk carton like that?"...
Great video as always. I like the way you implicated Action Man into your restoration. Up close and personal!
Excellent as usual. The beauty of that claw fix is that nothing had to be altered to do it so that is you find the correct part you can still use it
Your imagination amazes me.
Thanks for sharing your craft.☺️
Really good work, can't wait for part 3.
Coming together nicely. More Action Man please!
+grimmyx22 More to come in the next weeks and months. Got a few already filmed, and some that I am working on. Along with all the rest ;)
I look forward. The wee fella must be growing on you.
+grimmyx22 He is. My collection is already getting quite large. Not sure I have space for many more!
Great! Thank you very much.
Action Man looks terrified.
absolutely genius!
I used to have one of these in white, which was sold as a G.I.Joe accessory. Unfortunately, the only G.I. Joe I ever had was a talking one that couldn't be submerged in water, so I couldn't actually use him in the sub. Also, we didn't have a pool or know anyone who did, so I only ever got to use it in the bathtub.
I'm not sure about the Action Man version, but the G.I. Joe version also came with a rubber squid.
+lurkerrekrul No squid in the Action Man version. That would have been great!
+Toy Polloi Too bad. I'm not sure what happened to mine. I know the sub and all the rest of the G.I. Joe stuff got given away many years ago, but I thought I kept the squid.
the milk carten topps add a bit more detale to the front
They do look quite nice. Better than I thought they would.
Hi great video and thanks for my mention wish could sent more. And loved how you did front sea wolf col
+action man col Thanks Collin. I think I now have all the bits so will be finishing it off soon. It's come a long way from how it arrived with me.
that is true
Parabéns pelo vídeo!
hi looking forward seeing part 3 col
+action man col Will be up next weekend.
The look on the figures face looks like he's scared to death of whats going to happen. Look at those eyes.
You are a Genious!!!
brilliant as always...tell me why does hot glue guns never stick strong for me always breaks away easily..is there stronger types
I guess there could be different types. You have to make sure that it has got hot enough before you apply it.
Toy Polloi yeah I could be rushing it a bit, I'll try to be more patient...Thanks my man
That won't lock as the scope etc is a sliding lock for the glass dome not to be a perminent fixture Dave
as usual a brilliant video Dave .correct me if I'm wrong. but wernt you sent some parts for the sea wolf. in the big box of donations. that you opened in the video. I thought you had the other part of the grab in there. ?
You are correct. This video was filmed a few weeks back, before the donation box arrived. I will use those donated bits in part 3. I don't always have the time to film each week so I film them when I can. As I only post two videos a week some take a little while to appear. Cheers
"Oh the power of Lego " lol :-)
Had one as a kid but 90% of the bits were missing. An my action man only had a navy blue Jump suit with orange stripes on the seams.
+robuk1981 That will be the helicopter pilot jumpsuit. It's a common outfit, but a great one.
Toy Polloi yeah that was it thx.
great show! never had this. can you do a repair job on the action man Skyhawk? mine went up once and came crashing down again never to fly again!
I don't own one, but if I find one cheap I will.
Can you use Games Workshop smelly primer first then paint it in black afterwards?
+paulsenior33 I'm sure you could.
Action man looks a bit worried there...
This is my favourite AM as he eyes have gone a bit droopy over the years.
allluckyseven
he's like seriously, you expect me to go in that oh hell no!
Well, now I want a droopy EE AM to put next to my Joe Sea Wolf...
Worried? he's ready to effing PANIC!!!
And she's almost seaworthy! I fully expect to see it submerged in the bath in the next video!
Ok... maybe not.
+TheNightBadger I doubt she will ever see the water again. This one's for display only.
I jest! I just liked the idea of you going to all this trouble just to dump the sub in the bath. Maybe when we were kids that might have been the goal...
NOOOO! DON'T DESTROY LEGOS!! PLEASE! OH, THE HUMANITY!!!
am i mad or did he say he didn't want to glue?????? now he is filling 2 parts and gluing, this is a terrible idea, his work is normally so good.. almost like you just wanted a reason to use the lego and glue it in.id recommend just moding the broken part, either glue a part to it, or drill tiny holes and use wire/rod to hold, or plastic rod(better to use similar materials, plastic on plastic). DONT DO THIS YOU ARE JUST GLUING ALOAD OF LEGO ON TO IT, AND WRECKING ONE PERFECTLY GOOD PART, ALWAYS MOD THE BROKEN PART NOT THE GOOD ONE..SO WEIRD!!!!! love your work buddy but fail on this one. don't needlessly mod parts and don't start videos saying you didn't want to just glue it then do more damage, you are screwed if you find a replacement for the brokenpart, genuinely shocked. coming form a place of toy love, not trying to troll.
realised my fix idea wasnt clear, where it has snapped, cut a recess or channel, bend/cut a bit of plastic(rod or whatever) to match curve of piece and glue in to place. alternately, maybe cut recess and wrap in wire? would have to see but I'm sure there is a better way..
+sam wats You'll see from the first part, the shell of this toy is already damaged. And the small hole I made in it would not be visible if you did find an unbroken periscope mount.
When I restore toys I try to make them work how they did before. And that's what this fix for. You can still remove the periscope mount with ease.
Cheers
Toy Polloi
+sam wats It would never be strong enough to hold the piece in place and keep the periscope working. That's why I fixed it how I did.
ill trust your judgment buddy, catch fixes ive done have worked like that, as long as you don cut channel too deep to make weak, and leave enough to grip. balance. just you normally try to do as little damage as poss, only reason I said a thing. seemed over kill, plus I'm sure there will be someone with rest fine and catches broken, so fix is mute for them, as you say common complaint with these, and doesn't address issue for those not wanting to cut both pieces..
+sam wats This is a very awkward area on the sea wolf. There is a very small area left were the original clips broke off. It's not big enough to attach anything to as the area behind is used by the periscope. So this fix is the best I could come up with. I could find no one else who has ever fixed this apart from gluing the whole piece in place.
If you can make a better fix then please do and share it so we can all see. Cheers
