I've watched quite a few of your vids, being a huge fan of Tony at Analog Toys, I love these Action Man toys. I am from the US, so it was GI Joe to me. The longevity of Action Man toys truly amazes me. The love and care that went into a toy to be played with in all environments, even the seamstresses at the company made such beautiful products. Now that I'm older, 48, I see some toys that are just garbage, i.e. I bought my nine year old the 8" Spider-man 3 pack and he snapped the rubber band in 15 minutes of moderate play!
Such a shame the future generations will not know the love of played with toys, as most plastic today is more collectible than play worthy. :-(
I love these restorations!
I had the helicopter and the turbocopter as a child...
Happy memories! Glad to see these all over again!
Edited to add that my Mum taught me how to sew, by hand and with a machine. That was a big help in my last job, I was the sewing machine king! Haha!
PRETTY COOL HELICOPTER PILOT!❤
Full marks on your use of Mrs. Tp's seam ripper and your haute couture chain stitching LOL
Toy Polloi.... Tailor to Action Man. Another useful fix it guide. Bravo.
Hey Dave
Awesome as usual.
Great sewing on the seams, I have learned something else from you.😁
Take care 🙂
Dave, I have a lot of admiration for your patience and devotion to these projects. I wish I wasn't so lazy. :)
+whie8crow Thanks. They can take a lot of time to do. But I find it very satisfying work. Especially when it's all done and the figure looks great. Makes it worth the effort.
Lego and eBay should sponsor you Toy you started a cottage industry and a whole new use for legos
Excellent channel, so nice to sit back and watch all these vintage action man restoration videos, I normally only buy the new reproduction 12" GI Joes but have decided to finally buy a 1975 vintage eagle eyes land commander for the collection I plan to make complete. I will post a video about it when I have all the stuff needed.
+TheSkullReviews send me a link when you do? Would love to see how you get on. They are great toys, and easy to fix.
Sure thing, I even plan to get a custom box since the one I got does not have it, BTW I just put together an action man style 12" 1983 Snow Job from using the reproduction geyperman figure, it might interest you ruclips.net/video/2LeTIKa5OQY/видео.html
Hello friend, action man is one of my favourite figuras ( like geyperman from spain ), i like very much to restore them too.......GREAT VIDEO 😀😀👍🏿👍🏿
Pretty cool 👌😎👍
Parabéns pelo vídeo! Ficou ótimo o action figures.
Loving this channel!
Thanks!
I love action men
Those seam rippers come with every basic sewing kit. Even the most basic ones from the pound shop 🤣 I‘m sure you know by now...
Hi Dave, I have a few questions for you. I've just recently purchased a 1976 original Mego Doctor Who to try and have a go at restoring. In regards to hand washing the clothing, because the jacket is burgundy and the trousers are grey, do the items need to be hand washed separately to prevent colour running, or can they be hand washed both together? Secondly, should the water be boiling hot or Luke warm to prevent any shrinkage? Thanks. PS love the restoration videos, they've given me the inspiration to both purchase and restore this classic vintage figure.
Another great repair by you, good job 👏
i love your chanal it is grat
I could say,,i have some other ideas to fix this but its such a cheap fix.
I think it can not be cheaper than this.
Nice work!!
Because of you i am also interested in this kind of actionman figures.
I have some more modern ones in my collection wich i like and i have seen very old figures wich i don t care very much.
The figures in your collection have something that gave my a hind to search for such figures if possible and that is they have personality and they look funny.
+GoliathAngelus That's why I like this era. The eagle eyes feature makes them all look slightly different. That and whatever damage they received while being played with. Some of my favourites are ones with holes in their faces are chewed noses. Just adds character to them all.
great work as usual
a lovely job, well done 😊
Thanks for the upload Dave. Love the A.M. Vids.
Good'ol Antny did you get early access?
Good'ol Antny is a Patron and gets access to all my videos early, and free access to the sticker files I make. You can find out more here www.patreon.com/toypolloi
Toy Polloi Do you have to pay for Patron because that would explain why I haven't done it, I just don't have the money for it XD
Toy Polloi is the only Channel I support with patreon. The channel is excellent and Dave is a top bloke that deserves supporting.
I've tried Superglue on plastic some times without any luck.
awesome I'd love to see you work on some those AM helmets that have the elastic chin strap I have some for my later 2000 era cobra trooper 12" figures which have become worn and streached out. the only issue I have is that the helmet seems to have two sections to it and the inner part is glued over the end of the elastic
+tycondrius fitz You read my mind. I have an update on the Sailor outfit already filmed where I fix the chin strap on the Navy attack helmet. Will be up in the next week or so.
2:25 Seam Ripper, just thought I'd post it's name in case people want to buy one rather than "a very useful device", you often talk about it with such mystique or highlight it's physical details. ^_^
His eyes have a look of fear! "Help! I'm about to crash!"
TP, that's called a seam ripper. :-)
i love your chanal
Trying to make a visor, easy to source the green plastic but struggling to find something suitable to make the gold bar to mount it on
A thing slice of plastic plumbing pipe painted gold does the job.
@@toypolloi Cheers,
Are the blades on the wrong way? I ask because the 'turbines' on it look like they should be going the other way.
It can only go on one way round. So this is how it's supposed to be.
Hey Dave nice video! Also I have an Kenner r2-d2 and its screw is covered with a lot of rust. Can you help?
Of course, try this: ruclips.net/video/_L-jGV4IjxM/видео.html
Toy Polloi
Once again thanks dave!
How the hell do you get the long boots back on their feet?
Push them on? Not sure what you mean
Yay early
You could be even earlier if you became a Patron ;) www.patreon.com/toypolloi
Toy Polloi I would but I'm sure there are other people with a fair bit more money than me who can help haha. I feel bad but I currently have small amounts of money I'm saving for my own hobbies. I hope you gain enough for a new camera though!
No problem at all. Just been watching your videos/music, very cool stuff. Thanks for watching.
Toy-Polloi Very Nice :)
