Suuuuuperb! Really enjoyed this most excellent production! I'd like to say it brought back memories, but dropping our Man from my brother's bedroom window wasn't in this league at all!!! Thanks for this.
What a great film and even better memories for me with my Action Man. Obviously no drones back in 1973. But if you packed the parachute well you could throw him to quite a height and then enjoy watching the decent. Again, thanks for sharing your film and reawakening some very happy childhood moments.
This Action Man prompted me to join the Red Devils, once I had been in The Paras for a few years. I actually dropped my Action Man as I jumped. I still have it. I don't play with it any more. Just turned 60. But it still takes pride of place!
Regret ever getting rid of my 1973 action man green Beret soldier be in cabinet now on display. Had tank, boat, and cannon. I did have the helicopter. Had the dare devil uniform. Early months last year I did pick up a 1982 talking commander with eagle eyes unboxed. 2 days ago called into a vintage toy store thinking I might be able to get one action man came back with 2. A 1973 Field Commander and field radio boxed. A 1992 G.I. Joe. Duke US Army soldier unboxed. Though missing pistol backpack knife and holder but in really good condition. Both dolls were. Action man reduced from £195 to £125. G.I Joe priced at £20. The store manager she let me have for £10. So picked up an Army soldier uniform for the price. Have both dolls on display in cabinet with the action man box. I definitely be calling in there again
Great! Me and my 7 yo son tried the same yesterday - albeit with a sea-anchor from a liferaft and not sp fancily dressed GI-Joe D-). What's next? The rocket back pack? There is also the yellow propeller back pack....
Cool man , so very cool! In the early 70's, I has a skydiver drop my Fantastic freefall from whom knows how high when he released it. The wind carried it away, and when I was finally about to give up finding it, there it was was laying in a plowed field! yeah!
That helmet was on sort of lopsided for that jump. Better cinch it down tight next time. Safety equipment is there for a reason ya know! I'm joking, but little things like helmets on crooked drive me buggy!
Glad to hear he survived the fall. The drag from the unopened chute must have slowed him a bit. Always wanted this toy as a kid. Didnt later versions come with an Orange parachute?
Aaaaahh, that explains that. I'm sure I had one, but I was just thinking the chute was Orange not red/white/blue. I think it might have been somewhat bigger, too. I would have got mine around 78-80.
There's a bloke on eBay selling HEADS on their own for £28 to £38. Do you think that's taking the piss? Boots, £18, shoes, £18, hands, £20, arms, £22...his prices are ridiculous.
First day I had this, after a few successful throws, the 'chute Roman-candled, and my prized Action Man lost a hand (early solid type) when he hit the ground. Gutted.
Used a small 'L' shaped hook held to drone with elastic bands (small so as to avoid sensors underneath). Mine was from an old gate latch plate in my junk tin hence the elastic bands had something to pass over and grip. Looped fishing line over hook. Fishing line passed through top centre of chute and small knot stopped it pulling through. Careful lift to height - then wind or movement easily takes the loop of the hook.
Taped a L shaped hook on underside of drone. Slid fishing line loop over it and connected it to parachute top. Wind or mild movement blew the Action Man of of L shaped hook.
I really enjoyed this video, Rob. I want to do the same thing and I've been thinking about getting a drone anyway. What drone did you use that was strong enough to lift Action Man...? Nyms
I think because I watched that action man casualties of war video, yt is now recommending some good stuff

Great little vid. The later biggr orange parachute made the descent a lot slower - looks like he had a pretty hard landing.
Fantastic. Brings back memories are throwing him out of the attic bedroom window.
Action man's a tough old bastard I'm glad to see he's okay that was cool2
Brilliant video, had this outfit in 1975
Fabulous.
Good Story, well done👍🏻

Action Man, "Broken leg? I'll just walk it off."
Green light - go go go!!!

"This is your Commander speaking!"
Amazing how his parachute failed to open properly in the B roll and when you found it head first, the parachute was neatly packed in the backpack.
Too cool, Rob!

Excelente trabalho 😊👍🏻

great job, what we always wanted to do with our g.i. joes. very very good.
When I dropped mine out of the window (about 50 years ago) he didn't fly like that :(

THAT WAS PRETTY COOL..THANK YOU!❤

You should be able to get a whole decent figure for £20-£35 so yes!
Is that like a shot of piss? Like instead of a shot of Vodka or similar?
Had that action man doll uniform

OMG TOO AWESOME COOL❤❤❤🎉
Looks like you had fun! Soundtrack would benefit from quieter music so we can hear the commentary more easily!
I must mumble Alan!
Ja, ja, ja... 👏👏👏
fisher price
As a kid I had eagle eyes
How did you pull the doll and then let go?

Action man isn’t a doll, it’s an action figure
Slingshot?...
