So it was TIME & by time I mean... well over due for my next hair cut! This time, I went to Utopia salon in Westfield, NJ and got my hair cut by the salon owner/certified stylist, Nubia. Lovely. I did my own at home watching youtube videos and I love it. Very easy to do and I don't plan to ever go back to a salon now that I know how to do it👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I love your video and I just went to Utopia salon yesterday and had my first rezocut. I have fine and not super curly but aged hair as I am 63 years old bit I must say you are 100% correct as they cut my hair so it is so much more manageable. They showed me everything I needed to do and what I was doing wrong. Thanks so much for sharing your clips and if you have anymore tips for curly hair bring them on. Happy Holidays-Joanie

I’ve been to deva stylist for past 6 years after my fav stylist left I’ve just been floating not happy with my hair. I never did like the unevenness my brain always rejected 😬. If I can get myself to make the long trip I’m going to try her although he reviews on yelp not so bueno most say she’s very rushed. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Aw how far would the trip be for you? I think she does a great job with doing exactly what her client wants. I don't know if I felt she was rushed, but she was def. busy... just because so many people request her. If you do wind up going, let me know how you like it! And of course, thanks for watching xox
I am making an appt at this salon and I read those same reviews on yelp so I plan on trying another stylist. I want someone who can give me their undivided attention.
Nubia is my stylist. She's not rushed, she's an expert - she knows by looking at your hair, conversing & listening to you - she listens and advises and teaches and is a fucking magician. I drive 2 hours to see her & just witnessing the transformations while you are there is awe inspiring.
Omg this is so amazing! I definitely want to try it. I’m transiting to curly hair and my roots are very curly but my ends are choppy and dead. I would like to how much was it? Hey girl! Thank you! I will be honest, it was pretty expensive.. I want to say $150 if I remember right, but I also had Nubia (owner/master stylist) do it. I really wanted to make sure I liked it because I've had some terrible cuts before. However, some of the other stylists are less expensive & still do GREAT work! Let me know how you like your cut/trim if you check them out :) xox

Interesting! I think it really depends on the stylist. My stylist is devacut certified, but she definitely deviates from the training (in a good way) My advice for any curly hair cut (devacut, ouidad, Rezocut, etc) would be to follow the stylist through their social media, and then check on their reviews. Curly hair training is so important, but I also look for passion. Do they really know about what is happening in the curly community? Do they support DIY products? I put about the same research time finding my stylist as finding my doctor lol.
Great advice! I totally ageee... it’s your hair being dealt with & research is important- following them on social media is also something I do, gives awesome insight :)

Hey there! I want to say this cut was around $85-90. Sometimes they can be as high as $150-200, depending on the stylist and their rates and experience. If you go to Devacurl's website, you can actually search with your zip code and will show local stylists and their "level."

Hey Daniela! I want to say it was around $200 with Nubia, might have been $150. However, she is the most expensive stylist- they cost varies depending which stylist you go with. The site should list it out: utopiasalonspacenter.com/ ❤️

I hope if they have branch here in Dubai. Because they here are the worst in curly hair cut . Last week I had a cut supposedly for curly hair but I end up with lego head 😖 triangle shape head .

Lol, yes I feel you girl! It’s hard to throw up that much money.. but I’ve had so many bad experiences with my hair that I learned to look at it as an investment. Some stylists are cheaper than others too & still really talented! 😉

Hey girl! I want to say I paid $150 for the cut and I still tipped. I have heard that when you get your hair done by the salon owner a tip isn't needed (I heard that afterwards), but to be honest I'm not really sure how that works. I do think that Nubia raised her price to $200 since then though.

Thank you, love! If I remember right, all services by Nubia are $200, because she is the master/top stylist. However, the other stylists have great reviews as well and their services are cheaper! They should be listed on the utopia salon website xox
