- Another successful Deva Cut at the Curls One On One Salon in Beverly Hills California! I took my Mother-In-Law Meredith to get her hair done since she has just decided to wear her natural hair!

Definitely not 4c, but so gorgeous! Incorrect hair typing can create unrealistic expectations for people. Can’t wait for the natural hair community to ditch the hair type charts. Porosity will always trump curl pattern.

Chloé-Ana Braidy exactly cause for example, people can have the same type '4a' hair but they look differently because of porosity, hair strand, density etc. Hair type is so minor, it alone doesn't explain how someone hair looks

Her hair looks beautiful. Deva styling products just don't work for me though.
I find that people often try to put 3c in a much tighter category my daughter is 3b/3c and people say she is a 4B nothing wrong with 4b hair she just is not.
Guys this is definitely type 4, parts of her hair are just looser like the front but as u can see in the back it's tighter....much much tighter and her coils are very defined
THANK YOU! Lol The front part is heat damaged, that’s the part she is transitioning, that is not her natural curl pattern there, it’s just damaged... it’ll look like the back soon 😉👍🏽

Meredith looks great! I knew her back in Jr High, and grew up relaxing my hair too. I'm sure she feels like I do, so freeing to embrace our natural hair in our mid life state. Bianca, thanks for showcasing her transformation!
Mrs. Meredith's hair is definitely 3c/4a, and her hair doesn't like very damaged at all. Her first DevaCurl cut & style looks amazing!!

That’s great! And it will get healthier and curlier over time. I notice that my curls are getting “trained” the more I wear and figure out wash n gos. Found out my hair loves a little deep conditioner as a leave in, a light oil, twists overnight, then mousse on my 50% dry next morning hair.
I so need this salon ......salons need to step up their game we natural ladies are waiting on you!

That Deva Curl CURL MAKER product is a rare sighting. This product launched a couple years ago and I remember finding it strange they'd give it the same name as the Camille Rose Natural product.

I love it! I've always subconsciously thought diva curl wasn't made for "type 4" curls (if you go by the hair typing chart), but man, her curls looked so defined and overall very nice in the end! Great job!

I have a very similar curl pattern as your mother-in-law & she definitely does not have 4b/4c hair. Probably more like 3c/-4a hair. Her hair cut came out beautifully.
