Thanks for the entertaining review chaps. I enjoyed the tawdry double entendres. The touchscreen in the MG4 is laggy (the camera doesn't lie). For responsive, try the BYD Dolphin. The largest battery capacity of the MG4 is 77Kwhr, not 72. Cheers lads.
@@dadycommunity2784 I was going say the app but that's been updated and works most of the time. Another bad thing is that it's very easy to get points you need to refrain from using it. You might be used to highly powered cars I thought I was 🤣 go for a test drive. It's half the cost of anything a it's class. You'll see where savings have been made IE no plastic trimmings around the inside of the boot lid for instance.
Incredible EV cars are technically cheaper n easier to produce than ICE cars and im very happy to see this car rrp at 60k i think its the best performance car of the car for the price you pay
Hey car sauce i want you to review the facelift Tata Harrier❤ it's looks so cool to me Or just do a first look tour if you can't review it BTW love to watch your videos
How serious are the complaints about the interior in this? It's not like the Lancer Evolution's interior was any nicer than a regular Lancer either. That's what you sacrifice for (relatively) cheap performance!
People are spoilt in “performance” cars these days. A bit of fake carbon fibre goes a long way ;). These days even basic cars come with features you wouldn’t have dreamed of in a Lancer 20 years ago. 20 years ago the most high tech feature of my WRX were the Alpine stereo with MP3 playback and the Viper alarm with remote start.
Great bang for buck car, but strangely the performance variant of any EV model (even Telsa dual motor) isn't as popular as the cheaper or more efficient variant
When an entry level corolla is ~$35k, yes. At this price point the base MG4 51kWh for $41k is quite compelling. No idea how you arrive at 15k as a "should be" price. Kia Picanto and MG3 are basically the cheapest new cars you can buy in Aus and they're both ~19k AUD.
Honestly not sure that the average MG buyer should have a car that fast. I don't think many genuine enthusiasts are going to buy an MG EV just because of that party trick, impressive tho it is.
Let's be real. The party trick of hard pulls is 90% of what people want in a fast car. Suspension, braking, cornering, etc are important in a race, but this also isn't a race car. It's just a fast car, and I think people will like that.
@@CarSauce yes, I can see why you enjoyed it so much - ballistic acceleration is fun, in anything. But I've lived cars all my life and owned everything from 120Ys to AU Falcons to Porsches and V8 Mercs (not a SsangYong Chairman yet tho!) and I would never spend that sort of money on a Chinese EV and most people I know who I would trust with a ballistic car are the same. Which means a lot of people who actually buy those cars are most likely going to be non-car people who like the IDEA of having something that goes super fast but are not ready for the reality of it. As you know, you need to adjust a lot of things about your driving when you graduate to something like that, and I see a massive number of MG drivers who I don't think should even be behind the wheel of an MG3 let alone something that does 0-100 in sub 4 seconds. A big concern for me, which may or may not be borne out in the real world, is that there's a lot of stuff appearing in Chinese cars where the engineering is underdone. Thinking the Tank lane keep assist and braking, the GWM Ora that electrocutes you if you unplug it and the zero star MG5 just for a start. I hope some fundamental engineering issue like that doesn't rear its head in a car with this sort of performance. Time will tell, and in any case I love your reviews. They're always great fun and informative, so keep it up.
@@JoshuaMcTackett you might be right, but that's part of the problem. There's a lot more to being a performance car (and a performance driver) than getting a big shove in the back - and most people with the experience to sensibly handle something like that amount of go will not be buying a Chinese MG. When these depreciate in a year or two (which they will) they'll almost be P plater money and frankly I'm glad none of my friends (or even I) had access to a cheap car with 320kW before I had the brainpower to use it in appropriate circumstances and the skills to handle the implications of it.
MG ist making the same mistake as all the other EV manufacturers: to think that insane power versions for insane money would boost sales, while in reality a 100 hp version of this car for 20000 to 25000 AUD is desperately needed.
🤣🤣🤣cheap as chips and pushing 400000km in China now as Uber/taxis pulling 300km on the original battery. You bullshitters are getting old with your replies
Bit like your comment. On a lease this is insanely cheap with free power from panels. The only joke is something so cheap can destroy something so expensive. In China the MG’s are getting 400000km plus as Uber/taxis still pulling a 300km range on original battery. These cheap arse ev’s are laughing at anything that takes over 4 sec to 100km/h🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
western cars have become like USA,and the western World, you really do not know who is who. Meeting an east asian that say he is american, a negro saying he is french... I love my 77kw essence. Although I test drove the xpower and was blown away! Living regionally I needed a bit more range.
Love the Aussies man. What a fresh spin to the fucking same old car reviewer styles
would love to see your reaction to the MG Cyberster...

Hi from England from an Xpower owner 😊 nice video great fun to watch. New subscriber 😅
thinking of getting one. is it worth it? what's the pros and cons other than shown here?

A mate just got one for 40k drive away! This is UNBELIEVABLE!!!
That c pillar writes this car off for me. I always shoulder check and that c pillar would drive me nuts.
what's the ACAP rating?
Don’t worry, this one got the 5 Stars 🤣
Performance enthusiasts won’t want it, MG buyers won’t want to pay what it costs.
Ex BMW I drivers will.
And you couldn’t afford one

But does it drive better than a similarly fast accelerating GR Supra?
You can buy an aftermarket power tailgate if it's a real issue.

Imagine ice hatch pushing similar acceleration fuel range and time spend in workshop
