I had a used 61 mg sports car when I was young, and it seems history repeating itself, mind you in those days we were easily pleased, just having a car was a thrill. I am amazed I am still here come to think of it, luckily Brisbane has a lot of rain sometimes and when I did leave the road doing a wheelie outside our home it did a 'love bug', and I ended up parked by our fence, no harm done except my pride. Dad was guarantor for the loan so I cooled it a bit after that.

I like your 'ultimate sleeper' idea. Mind you most EV's are sleepers when it comes to acceleration, but an MG X-Power that looks like the basic Excite model could a hoot.

Have you driven the Seal Performance yet? In Australia (The west island of NZ) there is a $10k Au between X power and Seal Performance and both claim 3.8 seconds. Yeah the Seal is pretty unfunkified inside too compared to my Atto 3.
yep, I spent half my life living in the west island, a great place. However, I found it a bit cooler and not so many things wanting to bite or sting you here in NZ. My Mg zs ev has an LFP battery because it is the base model, the longer range ones have ternary batteries, I think the same applies to the 4. BYD uses the same lfp blade batteries in all their cars. Drove past a BYD dealer on Friday and I saw a white one with black trim, wow it did look very cool from the road.
Okay, okay, that "Only Fans" line was worth the price of the ticket. Actual Lolz followed by a groan.
I want to see the review in 7 to 8 years when the battery is somewhat reduced. Also want a quality review at the same time. A total cost of ownership would also be valuable.
Too boring. I'll happily go with Gavin's review here as it's just so darned funny. Who cares about 7 or 8 years when the battery range has dropped by 2%.

The car? Great for some, but - not needing that insane acceleration - I’d probably go for the LR or even new ER… excellent value for an EV.

Xpower for pure speed. Standard for handling.
I wonder how many of these were part of the 244 new EV registered on the road in January? I know the BYD Seal was the highest selling EV followed by the Tesla Model Y, of course the MG4 sells well, but this is exactly the same interior as other MG4 with just a few patches of premium fabric to make it look premium. Honestly who needs 0-100kph in 4 seconds in a budget EV? I can see why the Seal is by far the most popular with its premium looks and feel. No I am not selling the Seal as we personally own a 2021 Nissan Leaf and an Kia EV6 AWD GT Line which is on a whole different plane of expensive! (We did not buy new)
Have you reviewed the Cupra Born? That car was a missed opportunity. Imagine the Born having the same drivetrain as this!
You can run the USB cable true the console, no need to go around it 🙂
With a couple of EVs because of the software mapping for accelerator and brake you are better off not holding the two pedals and releasing the brake but instead just come to a stop and then mash the accelerator only

Somehow those reviewers in Europe got a different car from you. Might be why they are trying to put a bigger tariff on Chinese made cars too.
Till MG fix the vibration that they tried to fix with rubber dampeners. I cannot recommend if you intent on going over 100kmh. come on MG you know theres a fault. And refuse to fix or compensate customers.

You do put a big spark in your advertising on the MG. I have been in the dealership and taken one for a drive . and the quality material is very cheap for such an expensive car. your interview on the car is fabulous the problem is quality of the rest of the equipment little things that most people overlook the bearings I put in the motor found that if Chinese can take a shortcut they will . myself is always looking outside the box. Perhaps I am wrong that looks can be conceiving.any Anything made in China that's not under quality controlled, it's going to be crap. But of course it is my opinion only .
