- A couple of years after nerfing the crap out of it, the Hindenburg has finally been buffed back to where it was before Wargaming started screwing with it. GameBredTV, the artist formerly known as Runner357 is going to take it out for a spin.

Did our mighty gnome overlords once again failed to properly explain something before the 5 minutes mark? ;)
So, stealth firing...
Before the change in the stealth mechanics, your detection range "bloomed" the same way than now when you fired, but instead of being tied to your Mac gun range, it was increased by a value depending on your guns calibre. So let's take the Hindenburg for example : as is gun calibre was smaller than the average, the bloom generated for firing was smaller than other cruiser with bigger guns, but its max range was still big. So you had your basic 13 km stealth while cruising, and added 3,5 or 4 km when firing (I'm not sure about the values anymore, it's been a while). So you ended up with a detection range around 17km, but your max range wad still 17,5 or 18km
That's how you ended up being able to sit in open water without being spotted by the enemy, if they didn't have scouts...
It also mean that some ships had a bloom way larger than their max gun range, and could be spotted by ships they couldn't reach...

Ur bloom is maxing ur gun range at any time if ur Detected! Playing with a cover moving at slow speed or stop will detection any time when u fire if the highest point of ur ship is detected by any another enemy ship with in detection range! Depends on terrain will give u info where is the ship who spots you. As we see He is using das skill to be undetected/ detected behind a high pointe ! Stop thinking and confuse players

at 14:24 you can see Kremlin penning him from front, so Kremlin can still kill hindy before torps can be fired especially if Hindy is not full hp and RNG is kind (oh sorry comrade doesn't need RNG).

so, for a Hindenburg a Kremlin is about as dangerous as a Yamato
I had that in my Des Moines the other day, was just shooting HE at his torpedo tubes as fast as I could. Knocked out 3 tubes (so I guess he repaired 2), just took the 1 torpedo on the nose but won the duel.

@@n2eman192 Some of the earliest pre 2017 ones sure, but they hesitate at all costs to nerf more recent ships. They can get in some sticky legal situations if someone really pulls a stink over virtual rights, and could be forced to deal with a reimbursement crisis.
But why fuck with that at all when they can simply pull an unbalanced ship from purchase, and then create fake-scarcity in lootbox gambling that makes shitloads of money- as they did with Mizzou and Musashi. Mo money, less legal problems.

GG Runner. Hey Jingles with the recent announcement of changes to the Russian cruiser line and the introduction of a tech tree version of Smolensk. We would really appreciate it if you would start grinding that line as soon as possible, regards EVERYONE
"What's the point of the Des Monies again?" The American superheavy AP shells, that have some of the best pen and damage values with the fastest firing tier 10 guns, that's the point....oh and radar.
Also, in situations where yoy are front facing, having extra rear guns make no difference.
While the Zao is my favorite cruiser, the DM is my best and most consistent one. Toss in the legendary upgrade and you've got a really great ship. It may have weak alpha damage, but the rate of fire more than makes up for it in my book, especially because it lets you switch ammo types in time to catch broadsiding targets that you would have missed with a BB or battle cruiser.
Yeah as a team ship, DM is much superior. The long duration radar and 20% less detection range is a huge advantage.
I've been playing both recently, and ... I've been having better results with my Hindenburg than my (favorite) DM. The shorter range of the DM guns makes being aggressive against the Hindis, Zaos and other long-range cruisers of the same tier makes my DM either have a short life or low damage achieved.

Kudos and thanks to The Mighty Jingles. I downloaded WoT in 2010, played a few times and quit. Deep RTS like HOI, SOSE, Total War and Stellaris are more my speed. I gave it another go in '15. I started watching your videos because I sucked so bad. Eventually, with your help, I got good enough to survive more than 30 seconds into the game and even get some kills. Warthunder and WoW followed. I ground up the tech trees and lost interest in the high tiers. Back to Stategy. Your new videos are still the highlight of the week and I like rewatching the older ones, especially the ones where you do history and info dumps. Thanks

I mainly use it for zoning.

BTW, I don't know if anyone else could hear it, but there was some sound in the background that was a little bit distracting. It's like the microphone could pick up the sound of your computer's fans? Something like that.
It's been a while since I've played (burned out before the CV rework), but I remember the Hburg being pretty good even with the nerf.
Hburg had the German HE pen buff which allowed it to be a little more consistent with damage. If you got the chance to slap a broadside the German AP was pretty juicy. German hydro was the best hydro. The turtleback helped a little with close in fighting and the hp pool was above average.
The NA clan wars I was in had a decent phase where Hburg was the general soldier CA. Radar cruisers were support pieces to be protected, plus Zao and Henry had very specific playstyles. Hburg would also have great reach with max range and spotter plane that the other meta picks lacked.
I even mainly stuck with the range module partially due to clan wars and not bothering swapping all the time. At times it did force you to pick shots better, but I felt it was slightly more flexible with the range harassment ability.
Also Hburg wasn't really all about the stealth firing when it was a thing. That was the Zao.
Spotter or Fighter, or any aircraft can also spot torpedoes if they are close enough to the torp's tracks/fishes wakes too; albeit they have to be passing almost overhead the fishes position in the water.
So in emergencies you can try to stagger the better hydro with the spotter/fighter, or save the spotter/fighter for when you think enemy fish could/should be coming if your hydro is on cooldown, if your vessel has hydro - otherwise spotter/fighter are a minimal 'poormans 'equivilient of hydro.
Note: the non-CV ship launched figter(s)/spotter(s) cannot spot them if it(../they) is on the opposte(../mid-point) side of their orbit around its parent vessel in regard to the incoming enemy torps.

Besides its insane base RoF, which gets even more insane when the captain is specked with Adrenaline Rush, the shell it fires hurt like hell. Especially the AP. Oh lord the AP.
This Hindenburg game was absolutely glorious! I think the Hindenburg is definitely one of the tier 10 cruisers I want to go for! The Des Moines being the other which one which I’m pretty close to. The Buffalo grind has been a struggle.
Kremlin's pretty massive fore and aft decks are 32mm, so it Hinden would only shatter HE shells if it shoots the 60mm mid section of the Kremlin.
Im using IFHE specifically on my Hindi, because with IFHE (even if it listed as "not useful" by WG in the Captain skill tree) you can penetrate any deck armor of high-armored targets, means you get a lot more raw damage on Kremlin and G.Kurfürst. Especially if you play clan battles consider respecing your captain with IFHE :) You only get shatters on the really high-armored parts (e.g. turrets) You do get less fires if RNG doesn't like you, but with demo expert and the fire flags to compensate your firechance even with IFHE is higher than the base value. And you pump out 12 shells every 8 or 9 seconds or so. Means you get a lot more fires anyway, not quite as much as Zao, but getting the witherer achievement is not difficult either

I think the Kremlin needs a buff to its torpedo protection after this. Maybe a Stalinium torpedo net consumable that reduces all torpedo damage to zero for four minutes with a one minute cool down and gets four charges.
Come to think of it mate the armour is a little squishy too. Its overdue for a buff just sayin ;). Also bigger guns and a speed boost wouldn't be out of order either lolol.
Hindy is my fave T10 cruiser. You have tools to deal with everything.
This recent buff is one of those buffs that baffles me, like the German BB buffs. But I'll take'em :0D
I had a sick game / replay but I dont know how to save battle replays 😢 either way i got two double strikes, one coming from citadeling an Aoba and torpedoing a Colorado in my Nürnburg (this all happened in the last few minutes when we were going to lose and by killing those two ships we won)
You can still kinda OWSF in select situations, take a fast DD (the russian demon speedbotes for example), go up to a stupid cruiser, pepper him a bit to get him to chase you, and speed to the limit of your range. Then because he's chasing you, you can shoot at him from outside your max range (and stay unseen) and by the time the shells travel he will have sailed under them without getting close enough to you to see you. Of course, you need no one else in LoS, and enough open ocean to run, and a stupid enough victim to keep chasing you. A lot of ifs, but fun when it does happen ^^

@@chalichaligha3234 Not logically or necessarily. If someone is never drunk, you could say that every time they are drunk, Jingles does an upload. The fact that they are not drunk most (or all) of the times Jingles does an upload is not part of that conditional.

Your experience with the Hindenburg reminds me of my experience with the Deathstar, Jingles. I wasn't quite that close, but I was grinding it out and it got pulled from sale. And there's no way I'm spending THAT MUCH real cash to buy it.

I just got the Hindenburg. I very much like it so far. Only wrong thing about it is the matchmaking. All games played in it has been with Montana's, Kremlin's or Yamato's on the enemy team. Worst case scenario: all at once.

sounds about par for WG. I was grinding to the Maus and was almost there when they switch it in the tech tree to a different line which meant I needed to grind through another tank. I was almost going to buy the Type 59 but chose to get the Kv5 first and before I could get the 59 it was removed from the market.

Just start playing world of warships console, you stop feeling bad for destroyers real quick. Then again theres no Carriers on there so they can run riot.
And yet based on the consistent AA upgrades on new hulls I have a feeling they are coming. If they weren't eventually going to send in carriers they wouldn't bother to give us AA upgrades just to splash spotters.
You can start feeling bad for all those poor saps playing on console, though.

Well, the nerf on the Hindenburg came out after (if I am not mistaken) the 7th season of Kings of the Sea when everyone played it. I love this ship, is my favorite cruiser/ship in the game and even when it was nerfed it still did good. I believe that every ship is good/bad depending also on the player skill, of course some smolenks...sorry ships are not 100% so...still in my opinion each cruiser has a "best" characteristic and some bad ones, but not the Hindi. Hindi is the average allarounder and you need to learn to adapt to the game but when you get that Hindi is a monster (still don't try to torp a Des Moines...you'll become a U-boat). I'm happy for the nerf because Hindi was an almost extinct ship and now it's back. Hurray!!! About the game: amazing play from Runner (as I said the captain is more important than the ship) and amazing video commentary from the All Mighty Captain Jingles.
The accuracy on this thing is unbelievable for a German ship. Usually they can't hit the side of a barn inside a barn.

I run an IFHE Hindenburg to counter Kremlins. 66mm of HE pen means I've done 8k HE salvos on BB's.

That's not how stealth firing worked. Your detection still bloomed, but it was based on a percentage of your gun calibre and so some ships could still blind fire.
