I just put the boots in the case and forgot it.
This kinda reminds me of the Boots of Blinding Speed in Morrowind. For those that don't know it was a pair of boots that would make you run really fast (which was a boon in Morrowind because you moved so slowly) but they also made you blind. However smarter players would use dispel to remove blindness and keep the speed effect, making them one of the best items in the game. Shame these boots didn't have some kind of similar trick to make them beneficial.

Oh man, cursed gear! This reminds me of the Bane quest from _Borderlands 2_ At some point after Sanctuary, the player hub, has started flying but before completing the next campaign op, you might find a dead bandit near Moxxie's bar. Said bandit has an ECHO recording, mentioning a curse and "Bane." You'll need to speak with Marcus Kinkaid after that, and that sets you off on a string of hunts looking previous owners of the gun in question. The Bane is an SMG that has good base damage… but it slows your walking speed, reduces your jumping height, prevents you from running *_and_* produces a gawd awful scream whenever you fire, reload, holster, or bring the gun to bear.
It's funny how Conrad can see how they are such a nice pair of boots from within that generic spacesuit container. 😂

I got the same result as you Ox. Sold the boot and got the reward and dialog from Bianchi.

I believe the quest was changed in some of the first patches of the game. If you had sold the boots to Conrad, when you went back to Antonio, you choose to tell him the truth or (LIE) to him. If you lied to him, he gave you the response you see in your video. It was probably changed cause it was only after successfully completing this task that Antonio offered his named gun up for sale.
I like how these videos have the edited voiceover, but leave Stream Oxhorn up in the corner, silently talking to himself. It's like Mario trapped in the painting in Luigi's Mansion.
I have genuinely enjoyed watching your videos over the years. Fallout 4 is one of my all time favorites and no one makes videos about it the way you do. And now there's Starfield which I think I'm really gonna love once I finally get it. I'm thinking of starting my own gaming channel. I would just start by doing no commentary playthroughs. Thank you Oxhorn for everything you do!
These boots cursed my quest log! After completing the mission, whenever I would complete a future mission it would default back to the completed boots quest. Now in NG+ I avoid the quest entirely.
A verry little quest with a great lore most will miss.

In my headcanon, the boots give you a plus one to luck..... but since there isnt a luck stat... it does nothing 😅

I sold the boots, went back and he paid me for the job. After a while I went back to Antonia to sell down and found his credit cap had not refreshed after the allotted wait time along with his inventory.
Yeah mine turned out the same way it did for you Oxhorn and by the way when I did this mission and sold them I didn't know about this and came back to the Den to sell some contraband and I was disposing of duplicate slates in that very room long before this mission by throwing them on the ground, had a lot up to this point (don't ask why lol) and found his body by chance. I laughed sooo hard.
Reminds me of that one scene from the original all quiet on the western front movie
That's hilarious!! I never went back to check in with the guy after I sold him the boots! I'll have to head back to the Den and check on him.

I sold the boots to Conrad then returned to Bianchi and in the speech options I was able to
[Lie] and say I put the boots in the box.
Then Bianchi gave me the full reward.
So it is possible to get credits from both parties here.

There's a negotiation check with Conrad at the end of that quest, where you'll get an extra 500 creds, 1000 creds in total.
This is some horror stuff. I've overheard the convo before but I never thought much of it, so I never got the quest.
I declined to handle the boots, I didn't want to chance bringing the boots on my ship. 😅
Well Ox, With that response after selling him the boots I don't think the boots lead to his demise. I think karma did him in., and that missing cloud is due to the boots claiming a non believer's soul after karma was finished with him Happy Halloween...
I wonder. If your a house Varoon believer are the boots lucky when you where them or get extra dialog for this quest? Hmmm...

Despite their other stats, the boots have an unlisted +50% damage to using the Bane from Borderlands 2.
I SOLD the boots for 1000 credits at the den then I went back to the well and got what looked like 8000 credits
I sold these boots to that guy next to the box for 500. Cane back later and found he got crush by a vent. Good, he was a douchebag

Boots? What boots? There are no boots or any other kind of footwear in Starfield. In Todd Howards future we all wear onesies. Onesies for normal wear and different kind of onesies on top of that for space and s**t. Feeling immersed yet? :P
