Counting Crows always touch me. They are one of the few bands who can make me cry and even if i have bad memories when i listen to they.. I just love them and they write the best lyrics, thank you :)
Dude lives all of his songs. feels the emotions of the first time he sang them. a lot of people are capable of writing very emotive songs but what sets adam apart is he LIVES the songs and where he was head wise when he wrote them for every single performance.
I totally agree. I love coming onto youtube and listening to the acoustics. They are so filled with emotion. I wish they were on the albums. Especially A Murder of One with the extended version.
I found this song on a compilation 3 track cd way back when. The Cd also contained a version of Rain King and Around Here. I fell in love with this song instantly and im very grateful for this upload. Its been years.
One of the greatest preformes of all time! Trying to find this vid was hard, but I finally did and I a sure you this song has so much emotion. Obviously! Just listen to it! They should make it more available
I remember that they did a very good version of this on Howard Stern...it sent chills down my spine...."everytime she sneezes I believe it's love"...perfect line
I have that CD, not only is the rendition of "Anna Begins" seriously awesome, the whole CD is one of their best sampler CDs in 20 years. You can undoubtedly find it somewhere on the 'Net if you're so inclined.
This version is mysteriously performed a whole step (whole key) higher than the original. I don’t even understand how they came to the decision to take the song UP for a one-off live radio performance while touring. Magical shit. The harmonies are next level at the end.
so maybe i should snap her up in a butterfly net, pin her down in a photograph album. instrumental poetry, counting crows give me chills everytime, their music is simply beautiful and overwhelming specially when thinking of that special loved one. i love to hear them in a cold crisp autumn night. amazing. peaceful. life.
@diegoamerezrocks yeah I also completely agree with you. My first time hearing this song acoustically and I think it has more feeling when you hear in the acoustic version. especially the line 'everytime she sneezes I believe its love, oh lord i'm not ready for this sort of thing'. Now that tugs at your heartstrings. Saw them in concert in '02 at the IU Auditorium in Bloomington and it was really great!
I realize you posted this in 2008 but where in God's name is this recording from? This is my favorite song of all time and this version is ridiculous and I need it!
Ya Adam Duritz is a totally cool guy whom I'd love to meet. His lyrics are so relatable and also personal in his own way. He's definitely far from being a sell out like most musicians.
my favourite version of my favourite song, such an emotional song, hits the spot everytime. love it.
