Brought tears to my eyes. The most beautiful version of this amazing, deep and insightful song. August & Everything After is the story of my adult life. It saved my life, I was at my end. I am eternally grateful❤❤❤
I was in a very abusive marriage and I tried to go to school at the age of 39 to get myself and my kids out...everyday driving to school I would listen to this song...it did change my life...Thank you CC..my son even took me to see you guys in Hershey PA...I loved it❤
I jumped on the CC band wagon VERY early in their career. I heard them on a late night radio station just prior to August and everything afters release and went to my local music store which specialized in cd's at a great price not long after they came into existence. And the owner couldn't find anything on them and he took my number and a few days later he called and said he found what I was looking for. I was thrilled and listened to it relentlessly. When they came to Indianapolis the Wall Flowers opened for them and put on one hell of a show and the CC came out and said they was going to do a acoustic show in preparation of kicking of their big tour. It was a great show dont get me wrong but it was a bit of a let me for me as I wanted to see them rock out. But they are one of my top 5 all time acts and I am 50 years old now. That was 1997 I believe and I was 30.
Even if they are touring with other bands and only doing one set they are still good. CC sounds good in the studio and sound good live and thrive on changing things up from each show to another.
Since they always omit it live, I will sing it for you, “ I will walk along these hillsides in the summer ‘neath the sunshine I am feathered by the moonlight falling down on me”
I will never stop being amazed how they reinvent their songs. Each version is beautiful in it's own way and, in a sense, holds a different feeling/meaning. An absolutely brilliant band!
This version came on the radio at work. One of my exes from long ago adored Counting Crows. Thought about her a lot lately. Hope you’re doing well in life, D.
Her answer to when Adam blamed her for wasting her life... if you have ever been caught in between the descision to stay or to be alone, this song hits a nerve...
The story of me falling in hopeless love with my second ex-wife. Scary how it was almost like a script I followed; she was in a bad relationship and I would sit in my car outside her place and she would come out on her porch just to wave me goodnight. I loved that woman so much.
I should note that "Carving Out Our Names" is not a "bootleg" in the sense that it's illegal. It's sold in stores (last time I was in one). It wasn't produced by the band themselves, but they have a very permissive attitude towards recordings.
A friend who is no longer with us,gave me a cassette of August and Everything After and told me he thought I would like it. I loved it,and still do. R.I. P. Ady my friend, taken way too soon 😢
I can remember the first time i heard this song... I was lost.. but it seemed as if this song had also been lost and we were just bouncing around the same labyrinth when we collided. It pulled me to my feet. and i wrote this song the next week.. ruclips.net/video/x09j7kTQGg4/видео.html

Absolutely. Well said. This song still brings me to tears in the most perfectly imperfect way possible.

Saddest song ever heard . The symbol of a broken realationship i could never overcome even after 3 years...

Hey Doc, were you a member of the CCMB (message board?)
Zomg I miss being a teenager during the 90's so badly!

A Murder of One opened my eyes and possibly saved my life. This version kills me.
You wanna talk?

I don't know why he reminds me of Bob Seger. Both are amazing artists that invoke so much emotion in their music.
