I have the XLT 2.0 (not FX4) and getting 31.4 mpg combined hwy and city. At 6’6” tall I have plenty of leg and head room. Very pleased so far! Glad to have a true compact truck back on the market as the Ranger and Colorado are now bigger than the old Rangers and S10. Great daily commuter with a little truck utility built in. Ample power and decent handling. Not bad for $30k in today’s market.
This is my exact truck except for color. I'm getting 26 MPG in rural driving. This is a very cool vehicle and does everything I need it to do. Deffinately worth the money I paid.
The dual bottle openers on the tailgate sold me. I would have been good with one bottle opener… No, it has two. What’s more? Several sheets of 4x8 plywood in the bed.
Ty for the review ... did I miss it or didn't you mention that left side dealer sneak on extras... I like the maverick, but once ya price an XL or XLT into mid size truck range it's kinda not worth the price point ( imo ) ...
I have the exact same truck except the optional wheels. I now wish I would have paid the $795 for the wheels since they come with the Falken at tires which are a lot better than the Pitelli ATR tires which are eh Love mine Just wish I could have got the more aggressive tires
Nice review except wrong or misleading information. The 9.4 inch ground clearance is on the tremor package. The Maverick FWD is 8.3 the AWD is 8.6 because of the rear multi link independent suspension which was mentioned. Technically i think the optional p235 are about .51 of an inch taller so it may add .255 ground clearance so hypothetically it would be 8.855 with the optional tires. A lot of the FX4 package was missed or not mentioned as well. Also because of the added weight most likely payload will be less than the 1500lbs it should have been listed on the door jam. I know its more than the tremor package it really gets hit. I like the Maverick I'm waiting for an order similar to the one that was in the video. XLT, FX4, 4K tow package with optional p235 AT tires. Thanks for the video, it looks sharp.
I was just listing the Max payload and from my research, I only saw 9.4” or 8.6” and since the regular non FX4 was 8.6, I figured that the fatter tires and suspension tweaks would lean towards 9.4. I definitely didn’t see 8.855 anywhere lol but yes, this is a really good value package! The tremor is also sweet but as you said, it compromises some of the overall capabilities 👍🏼
@@WTFCRLT1 that's why I said hypothetically on the 8.855. I've read the same 8.6 for AWD. Only the AWD comes with either AS allseason or AT allterrain but p225 tires. If you Google the size difference between p225 and p235 it's like .51 of an inch taller so I just divided that number in half .255 don't know if that's correct thus the reason for saying hypothetically. If the Tremor is 9.4 and have a 1 inch lift as well as p235 over the AWD has me scratching my head. Maybe the differential with locker is lower than the other differential?
@HuronRiver-ke8xn yeah not sure where that 1” lift goes to the Tremor. Maybe the skid plates or as you said the different differential compromised some of the clearance. I’ll look more into it and I’ll explain it more clearly when I get my hands on a tremor!
@@WTFCRLT1 Yeah I might miss the approach angle and the lockers. I just couldn't stomach losing 4k towing capabilities, payload capacity, and 5 mpg on highway mileage that I would use on a daily basis. Just couldn't do it. I hear it's a little softer ride but has more roll just couldn't get past less fuel economy, less towing, less payload, come on it's suppose to be a truck. With only a 2000lb towing capacity I couldn't even pull my neighbor out of the ditch. Just not something I'm willing to invest in. Like I said I will probably miss those lockers and approach angle but not enough to give up why I'm buying a truck.
They are both great trucks. The ridgeline is a bit bigger, with a longer bed and much better interior quality materials, a better infotainment system, etc. And so, it is obviously a bit more expensive.... the maverick is smaller, and so it has really great mpg, in either of the two engines.... the 2.0 or hybrid and so it helps to save on gas. The maverick is smaller but the bed is deeper. I really would prefer the ridgeline for those who have more more to spend but for those who don't need a bigger truck and want to drive something that will drive like a car and fit easier in parking spaces, have a truck bed that can be used for quick Costco or Home Depot runs, the maverick seems to be a better choice. However, since the ridgeline has been out for many years, the dependability is much more consistent and the maverick is a fairly newer truck so we hope that they have been built to last as well. I want to get a ridgeline myself, but it's more expensive so I might settle for a maverick xlt black appearance package! I hope this helps.
If i cant get an xlt for 26k its not worth even negotating. For the stats it has its not worth more than that and i think 26k is generous. People paying 30k plus are smoking crack!
I’ve heard of some issues with the hybrids but this 8-speed has been around for a little while now. It had its issues at first but that’s been worked out in the last 5 years 👍🏼
Strongly considering one of these in the next few months. Seeing it scoot when you put your foot into it definitely boosted its appeal!
It definitely scoots! Wish you luck 👍🏼

I keep my eyes open for that video Will.

Nice review. Going shopping for an XLT w/AWD this weekend.

Thanks for this helpful and enthusiastic review!
Nice video Will & this will be my daily vehicle.
Good choice!
Such a cool vehicle
I like the 235 factory tires. First time I’ve seen one option those wheels on the FX4

Compared to? Something with over 100k miles?
Just don't buy one over MSRP.

Does the fx4 package have locking rear differential?
It has wireless or wired carplay?
which do you think is better/prefer, Maverick or Ridgeline?

2024 Ford Maverick UTE XLT 2.0L Turbocharged 4-Cylinder 8-Speed Automatic FX4 OFF-ROAD Package Crew Cab 4X4!
I love those rims I wish you can get them on the hybrid
Transmission worries me

Sounds like lawn mower
Its really not under 30k after tax/fee.
Just never been a fan of that weird blue interior and that goofy hole next to the infotainment screen should be one big screen.
First comment
Also this truck looks small compared to the Santa Cruz
195.7” (Santa Cruz) 199.7” (Maverick) 🤷🏻♂️
