I love this elevators.. Titanic elevators was also manual controlled!
There's a 12 story tower in New Bedford, MA that has 4 elevators all manually controlled (elevator operators) with an up/dn lever, not even buttons. Used to be my favorite elevators as a child. My grandmother would always take me. =)
very wonderful elevator it is a true gem to see the deadman switch
Very awesome find! This is such an awesome elevator. Very old and very nice! I am glad that they let you film here!
And fast too. Great elevator
hghh
Very impressive! Interesting spin on things: one of Monarch's employees left to found Southern Elevator in 1949. Monarch was based out of Greensboro, NC. I suspect Salem was possibly one of their distributors at the time.
I love this elevator
That is truly hardass!
yep, so now you know that panel was made my monarch.
Love your videos! And niiiiiiiiice elevator :) Makes you appreciate a beautiful piece of antique craftsmanship!
very well done diesel ducy.
Too bad it got modded.
They should keep this elevator exactly as it is.
if i come to roanoke you have to take me there

I looks like you passed old window frames in the brick.
im new to ur channle and at the beging u show a lil train can u please tell me why and i love ur videos
nice elevator, what is wrong with the wooden door?
It was probably very temperamental due to age and usage. I wouldn't be surprised the two chain-link fence gates are newer than the wooden ones.
@SuperAlfie1000 If I am not mistaking, this elevator is no longer here..
I’m really sad that this got ripped out
I wonder if this elevator will stay original since the business is reopening.
It is decommissioned and now converted into an office
@@DieselDucy It's a shame that such a beautiful elevator had to go to waste. This thing was amazing.
@@DieselDucy I thought this had reopened as The Home Shoppe
@@DieselDucy I believe it has been ripped out now
I know it was a while ago, but what was the switch labeled 'safety' for?
Emergency Stop.
stop at 00:00 and look at his nails *OMG*

No. Manual controls are obsolete except for wheelchair lift.
