There has been similar progress in my server in the European region.
When the top-ranked clan decided to merge with the 2nd and 3rd ranked clans in terms of whales and resonance. It was all due to having the ability to dominate the server. I was then in the 3rd ranked clan and was invited to join the dominating clan. I saw it as server killing move, so I opted out of it and joined the 5th ranked clan instead as my clan was being dissolved.
I've never been immortal since, but this was before the big server merges last autumn/winter. The server merges made new whales join our server cluster and it got balanced out a bit. Since then, a lot of players have dropped out, others have joined, and some non-spenders (like myself) have started to spend as I like this game and had some cash to burn.
So far, only one clan has left our server cluster, and they left to be able to play with more clans from the same country. They wanted to speak their native language in world chat and shadow chat. I can see that reasoning. No other have left our server (yet), but the dominating clans are making the core game mechanic of Shadows vs Immortals very boring for the other thousands of players in the same server cluster.
You don't need to mention names. Everyone on the server knows who it is.
I said it long time ago, its good game but have broken balance between spenders. Shop should have limits because its killing the game. As you can see gap is increasing and f2p, micro, low spenders are leaving beacuse there are tire of unfair game. Step by step pool is drying... and sharks will star eating each others without small fishes :)
I waited for this game patiently for over 3 years, but I only played about a week because I figured out it was just going to end up RAID 2.0, if you've played raid you know how screwed up the balance is between free to play and Whales.
Playing games is for happiness. Farming in the Diablo world or seeing my power grow over time is quite enough for me. I don't care how strong other players are or
how weak I am. I never play PVP. I only play PVE. I am always powerful enough to beat those monsters. And that's all for me.

I didn't like being immortal. It was cool, but overall a lot of work. As a super weak casual player, something like a clan dominating a server wouldn't bother me....I think. I usually only go to the 3rd for of vault. I only go to the 4th floor so that the immortals will not be bored waiting all the time. I also don't patriciate in Rite of Exile, tower battles, and most event game modes. I am just happy that our server is mostly drama free. A mass exit wouldn't be good. If it gets bad blizzard will merge servers again. The drama from the merge was annoying for a few months.
After our clanleader read, no more server merge this year, they decided to switch the server. On our server there were two alliances of three with the strongest player and so we alternated as immos every 6 weeks. That got boring for some. So now over 200, many high payers, have changed. The other alliance now also think about a switch after their immo-round. On the one hand, it's nice because it makes it easier for normal players, but there are also a lot of very active players missing. And if the other alliance doesn't switch the server, they totally dominate the server. Let's see if I switch the server, if there's a merger or if I just stop playing. :/ (edit: We are on EU, so it happens on other servers also.)
We have a similar super whaled clan in our server and from the start they have been dominating the server but it gives different result instead of players leaving our server it actually attracted other whales from other server that are bored of fighting low reso players. So they come to our server to actually compete and fight this dominant clan and now we have 2 rival allied clans which is great because there is balance and healthy competition in our server. Also the OG players in our server continuously are recruiting players from other server to join our server. So it really differs on the players mindset, gameplay and strategy on how you will deal with the game problems thus giving you different result. BTW games like this includes lots of politics its not just hack and slash, sometimes communicating to other players is the cheapest way to dominate that is base on my experience.

Any Mass exit is a bad thing as far as action. Whether it's exiting the game, period; or switching servers.
Unfortunately I don't think this will exactly correct any issues. Many friends will leave, many will stay behind. If the ambition of a player is *to be the best* then it's a steep hill to climb, and many will take any advantage that they can....

In this age of crypto billionaires money is like water. Maybe they should have servers that are only f2p. I know they have no incentive to do that but it would be more fair for the f2p players

Have had this happen to me about 6 months ago. I Still stayed in the server with remaining clan and we merged with another clan to help with people transferring servers. I am actually glad i stayed as a Og to my home server!!!
My clan left our old server to be apart of a healthier alliance/market. It’s good for the game to combine servers for more population than more less populated servers
I play on your server and played with those peeps quite a bit. Not all are going but a lot are. Sad to see them go.
To clarify, yes this happens in every server where whales are usually grouped into a few clans and swap immortal reigns back and forth. However- on the cluster Echo is referring to he means Kincaid buys old accounts that have higher reso and either A-Gives them to people or B-Sells them to people. And he places them in every clan on the server so he can dictate what goes on. It’s different than 2-3 clans swapping immortal reigns over and over again.
Kincaid wants to control as much as he can. He just moved Sneakytashi to eternal conflict to use as a weapon for HX because his pilots are so bad at PvP.

Every server is going to have a biggest whale alliance. Ours is syndicate alliance, they came from a server merge and recruited most of the high res players on the server. You can fight with them, fight against them or leave.
Great vid Echo. Imagine how they’d feel if everyone left the server they went to. Now that I’d like to see but in the real world it would never happen.
Since I started playing the game a few months ago I've been in two clans and two warbands. The warband I'm in has changed leaders 3 times and now I'm the leader. Can't get the players to team up to advance the hell quarry. It's stuck at hell 5!
the clan he is talking about is Fight club they had alot of whales but nobody will miss them they all had big egos and were always talking trash in dms. The old leader of Fight club was named splatacus and he left awhile ago because he had a big ego. So bottom line is nobody in our server cares they left.

Happened in my server, now there is 1 clan that’s actually 3 clans that work as 1, 1 permanent shadow clan and 2 that rotate immortal. So boring and lame. A couple big clans left for new servers
My brother in law and his friend playing DI before and they quit. I asked him why did you quit? And he says. Its too boring. The reason is just you are grinding to increase combat rating and base stats to jump hell or inferno difficulty whether you collecting scraps, saving gem power for legendary gems, getting enough keys and rank up normal gems. And then what? Thats what he said.
I am continue playing not because of them but to enjoy myself.
My clan left our server and went to a better server. It is more friendly and less drama. Not as many whales ( pay to play ). We left the Old Growth for a better game play
In my server exactly the same happens. One rich Guy manipulates everything because he donates his servants.
I have seen both sides of the spectrum of this issue I have watched a top whale clan leave our server resulting in a market crash, And player Exodus!

The new combined servers were so fruitful we had a whale clan named modest moved our server and that really shook things up. And as you can guess there was lots and lots player Exodus. New lines had to be drawn, maps redone, new alliances made, And lots of good bye to old friends because there was a new treat! The point I am trying to make is where there is death I will always be death there will always be an influx of people coming and going that is the nature of the game. Sometimes blizzards will have to step in and do a merger But no matter how much fear no matter how much player Exodus there is there will always be balance, Change is scary, But it's worth it to stick around if you're strong enough

Great video Echo! Thanks for keeping us in the loop. This is very bad for our server and the game in general. ROE was irrelevant before this and now these actions make it even more boring and irrelevant. Competition drives the game. If there is no competition, there is no point in playing. Blizzard killed this game mode before it even started and now these whales are putting the last nail in the coffin. I am lucky I dont care about the ROE. Otherwise I would be leaving as well.

We were immortals and I can honestly say we don't want it anymore to the point that most high reso players of my clan says they're gonna leave if we go for immortal reign again. XD

If a whale is buying gems for all their clan, just post your gems at a much higher price... it will sell. I always wondered if someone was rich enough to do this. I'm guessing it's their dad that is rich enough. Hope it doesn't ruin your server.

There needs to be a resonance cap on all clans like the salary cap in football, so there can be whales, just not 20 in one clan.
Sneakytashi and Kincaid most toxic players. Kincaid buys every1 in multiple clans and servers. Worldstone cluster/prime evils cluster/eternal conflict cluster.
I was in the original clan with sneaky and it was fun. Then it got out of control and he kept jumping clans 24-7 to be immortal.. to be honest he is a shitty player lol.. he loses pvp all the time w it h a maxed character to 3000-3500 res players lol. 😂.. worldstone is a fun sever though. I think he left that server now thankfully
Thats what p2w does to games, no mather how strong you think you are, someone will always spend more then you and kick your arse, so whats the point of playing if you pack and leave when things dont go your way ? F p2w, hope every game like this dies !
Knowing that blizzard has been on with you before echo maybe just maybe there’s hope for a future where they create one actual free to play server that the only purchase, a bowls or cosmetics, or battle passes for all of us lol spenders who can’t afford to feed a whole clan to have fun because I’m trying really hard to stay into the game but when I hear stuff like this, it makes it rough it’s the most interesting game. I’ve played on mobile in a long time I’ll be very Grindy but that’s what you expect from a rogue like like this. I am a firm believer that all game stuff for purchase should be battle passes or cosmetics. Everybody wants to look cool, and everybody hates pay to win. I don’t even bother with PVP because I’m a low spender.
My WB may end up disbanding because of this...6/8 Members are in the Clan in question. As of right now they all switched to a different Clan, but they may end up switching Servers depending on how things play out over the next couple of cycles.
why does it have to disband? my wb members are in 3 different clans. we get along great and make the time. we originally did start in the same clan and have since all moved on, but didn't see the point in disbanding. :)

Yeah this is a problem at the top end and honestly I think they should give everybody a free server transfer again and let everyone go wherever they want but put suggested reso on servers. Most of the whales in my server only play against each other and I think the notion whales just wanna dominate minnows is false. Most whales wanna pvp other whales.
Mine server is hand of justice, since June a lot of ppl leave this place, whales and regular players as well, and that affect the game here a lot, being an immortal is really boring 15min to get 1 match, or as shadows, if you are an spender and run vault probably you never going to fight with anyone bc the whales are few an non actives, in sw is a whole clan vs 0-10 ppl, towers are boring as well all the clan vs 1 person, the market is stuck you can find every baby gem real cheap like 200 plat and keep going down, can’t find 5/5* here bc probably more f2p around, and with every cycle is more difficult to play here less activities around, less wb, less competition, a merge could be good but since is posible to transfers servers we don’t see that happen soon, maybe never, so the best option is change server bc blizz seem not care about that anymore, is free at least the first time but if the new server have the issue with the time, paying 15$ to change servers seem always that they would prefer the money than a heathy server.

I've played many games like Diablo Immortal, which only give advantages to those who are P2W, and I've seen many, as the years went by, fail and fall. This game is way too expensive, absurd!
Same thing happened to my clan, transferred servers to a lower server because of all the whales on our old server
And there`s a clan name "Aesir " in the merge server of Vasily, Gillian, Nlifur (SEA Servers) doing 24/7 auto farming in Shassar Sea. When you check them looks like robots don`t ever talking and always doing same movements in the map.
Made an alt in south American server where theres no super whales. Biggest players are 3k and there's like 3 of them.
If u are a north American player who's a dolphin and want to dominate, come to this server as of now there's 3 of us there maybe we can make a us clan dominating this server

Players trying to be bullied off of online serves is nothing new. its when these massive whale accounts get harassed by people making accounts in names of things referencing a persons information intentionally to f*** with them to force departures that I see an issue in. Imagine logging into a game where a guild has named every player based off of your family members... things you do... places you go... etc etc. That is the biggest pay to win issue ive seen coming from a game. (also wont mention which). Dunno how much this is in diablo immortals tho from experience I've seen this happened first hand for too long.. group of individuals non stop making fake accounts/buying small accounts for nothing from retired accounts using multiple devices/diff internet connections and vpns to block tracking (admittedly) to circumvent them from being routinely banned. Sharing logins with anyone they can and even going so far as to pay others to operate the account in order to try and pin a top 1 account into submisson as a measly account bought for $100 or so off a quitter. soo... 130,000$ pay to win account... versus 40 $100 accounts bought from people who quit. Seems fair right? They name these accounts to fish a rise out of usually a specified individual to defame & hope to steal datafrom. With 40+ accounts able to spam any whale out of chat its next to impossible to combat as the companies see these individuals making purchases every so often if even for little amounts.
This type of scenario coming to Diablo Immortals concerns me far far more than anything "kincaid" related.
Wallet wars has never been new tho theres always a victor and a contender. As a super whale of an online game I'm not one that will ever back down from a bully. Hope regardless of how things go in the oncoming months other whales find their spine and talk rather than jump ship like cowards. You've never lived in online hell til youve own a capped account that cant go fightas top 1 versus 20 ant nobodies without significant online harassment/exploitation... Why would anyone make a pvp capped whale account to sit in peace? Idk but let me tell you its a damn travesity.
There is this person in a south east asian server, his character name is BudekJungco. He does this exact same thing, he tried recrutiing me multiple times and I wouldn't budge, weird guy to be honest, I think this is their way to make friends cause they can't make one for being so weird (they buy friendship)
Same on my server, all the power and spenders have formed two strong clans with a lot of very high resonance players. Those two have their two allied clans and they rotate immortal between those 2. I had been immortal early on and don't really care to be again. The problem is that both of their reigns last 6-7 weeks each and most of the other clans stand no chance ever of seeing immortal and there's a lot of players just don't play hardly anymore they see no point to a dominated system on the server combined with horrible BG system, RnG of obtaining new gear/essences, and poor drops on legend gems when they do spend money.

I spent ALOT of time in Immortal, but after playing first D4 which was good but a bit.. meh.. I tried POE and never looked back. Holy shit its so good and they will release a mobile game (non p2w) next year. Would love to see you check out some good arpg's because this game is a disgrace (even though the gameplay feels amazing).

You thinnk this is special? This has happened several times over sdeveral servers. I know I know, you think your server is the highest one in the game, it's not. This is LITERALLY whats been going on for over a year.
This is the kind of stuff that kills off F2P and even low end spender communities. Unless blizzard start dedicating servers to both sides it’s gonna get worse.
If I win Powerball this week, I’ll buy every single player max resident on every server so we can all just have fun

Echo you literally just described what happened on my server to a T as well. Same thing with a giga whale clan that had one ultra rich guy buying res for clan members. Before when I used to see them “running” dungeons with open party having “pilots” during hell8 literally every time I check a players stats the majority were 6-7k res when 7k was max res. Now I haven’t run into many of them lately bc apparently their pilots are running dungeons solo but I’m sure they still exist. Same issue with a clan packing up and leaving. I swapped to a new clan that left like a week into me joining bc of issues with other clans. This happen like 3 weeks ago.

@@ECHOGamingDiablo i don’t think so we aren’t from same server. On a positive note i switched back to BK again from Necro bc we just got immortal. Won every vault def currently tied for rank 1. Then I just retested my dmg for 1 minute on dummy since I got new shoulder piece but it makes me have -4% crit hit. My old record for 1 minute was 104 million. I just hit 121 million in 1 minute that’s over 2 million dps using new leg essence instead of bats that run. Only 2.1k res, no family bonus (used to have all 100% bonus damage) reforged for summon necro. , no acestral property and no ultimates used in testing.
i quit when the last pass ended, the cr grind is stupidly long, price hiking on an already over priced game as it is was just the nail in the coffin

Ohhhh yeh, identical problem on EU Chrystal Arc which has merged. After the merge the whales also merged with our biggest whale and now the server is almost completely dominated and immortals can be taken down only with political alliances.
So the problem is structural to the game.
What is P2W if players see victory on the screen ??
we have such a strong alliance on our server that many frustrated clans have left, first ones around the time of the server merges. now a while whale clan is joining our server to become a part of this already strong alliance. other groups of server jumpers are divided into the different clans of the family. crazy times. this might double the number of high reso players on our server.
I'm looking to change servers (relocating back to east coast). Is Iceburn tear in est? Is there anything I should know before switching? I'm sure I'll lose my wb points (hope not...lol) . Another giant issue with the whale clans I don’t see enough about is using bots to buy gems.
Oh my server you cannot physically by a (one example) sapphire.
You can set up a time with your friend .. have your friend make level 1-2-3 sapphires. Put them all up after a ten second countdown at 4:30am and it doesn’t matter.
You won’t be able to buy one.
Instantly gone.
I want level 7 gems for example.
I need a few hundred gems and I can’t buy more than 2-3 a week.
I check the market every five minutes.
Yet. Only.. ONLY the highest res players have stacked level 9 - 10 secodnary gems.
That’s TENS OF THOUSANDS of games
My money is just as green.. whales don’t have the power to slow down time. There is no reason I can’t buy secondary gems.

Game was a blast for first 3 month. after that it was pure boredom of stupid griding thru hell levels where you don't even have a time to properly benefit from a gear grinding.
Kincid/HX/sneakytashi/ and a lot of people with Chinese letters in their names. Just call em out bro. They are chasing people around servers. I was a new player who organically joined the clan that’s being chased around and I don’t want to leave the clan but it’s giving me no option. I almost don’t want to play anymore. They share accounts, bring 10k res players to a new server to keep us from getting past week 5. It’s pathetic and we keep having to move to get away from them.
*Like I've said from the start, resonance should not be able to be utilized within the server's PVP activities... and instead resonance should ONLY be beneficial for cross server PVP game modes and PVE modes.. it's the most inclusive method to making sure everyone can equally compete and have fun at the same time without having a drastic power difference which seems to be ruining it for everyone...*
But if they did it that way, NO ONE would be spending the rediculous, mentally twisted amounts of money that many whales do in the present meta.
You see, it's not good enough to prove the long term health appeal of a balance change, you have to show blizz where it can not only keep the same level of sales coming in, but increase them to cover the cost of balancing in the first place...

yeah we had in dark wonderer server migration from clans to clan. i have had migrate my self. altough i`m not spending much but i`m keep playing every day
They need to remove the cap on hidden lairs for us f2p players. It's the only glacial way of gaining resonance as f2p. It sucks getting capped on the amount of normal gems I can farm.
Eu,s oldest server has same predicament with Clans as many as 6-8 working including immortals to control the server and keep the reigns maximum length where helping shadow Clans folds rite for the immortals to win to keep reign..
Don't think this will happen to our server to many whale alliance clans that enjoy the fight between the two big groups. That being said it's my last week as soon as I hit 40 on battle pass I'm calling it quits. I disagree the game is doing interesting things. This pvp rotation in fine but wouldn't say it's great or anything and same boring events. Literally only thing to do it grind to 1000 with no interesting things in the immediate future. I wish everyone playing good luck but I see people that aren't heavily invested to be heading out soon.
We've kicked the tires on the same thing for months because of all this, problem is its widespread. Our cluster is the weakest cluster on the East Coast.

On my server everything is max price and sells quick!!! Its the best cause there limit on how much you can sell things for, which mean everyone has tons of Platinum, so in Theory things are cheap....

i think its hard to enforce this kind of situation which the blizzard has reach to. This kind of methodology is also present to most online games ive played, and the game company has no way to prevent that. Terms and conditions barely tackle this as it is beyond the scope, not unless the other guy (rich) gains access to the account on hand, which will violate the T and C and will likely be punished, other than that, the bounds of the contract cannot cover this specific condition
its not enforcable, he can honestly gift any one money for any reason that is not against TOS.

Do you think there’s a way for blizzard to merge all servers so the only reason they are multi servers is for better quality play but when it comes to all things, clans, warbands, shadows versus immortals, the market, all players have put in the same pool. If this is what happened already then never mind what I just said lol
I forgot what server but Fae is the only big clan that’s known in my server for having a lots of whales
This has been happening in another server here in the SEA region. Literally sharing multiple accounts with high resonance within their clan. It is what it is. I am just glad I am not in that server LOL
It's all about being useful to each other. They didn't want to feel like they carry the others
This happens in EU aswell this goes as far as offering price money for certain tasks and so on, all done by one big guy lol. But all mobile games with that kinda system get to a point like this I remember playing mafia and one japanese dude basically owned so much for dozens of millions spent and had people employd to play the game since he couldnt do all by himself anymore. I love playing immortal its sad but thats how it is who knows maybe its the start of something new, something even better.
I know game is Diablo Immortal, but I really don't care about to be immortal and last time when I tried BG was probably 7 months ago. I'm doing pretty much just PVE. Only about market is true. That's impacting me to.
Sounds like the issue is something you choose to have. Like u said… u will still be able to play with other server friends so just make the move to better yourself. This is not something new… just new to u
I left my original server because of toxicity and the same group of people controlling things. I even switched my alt, having to pay to do so.
Wait all the people are on my server Sandro the mouth. They fight in World chat like every night. They are all whales and just pass Immortal back and forth on a rotation
The problems following that kind of event are huge tho echo.. that means less whales and less ppl to help you lower reso and lower cr to do raids and such for future inferno 3 and up for inferno 4 and 5 raids witch is the ultimate problem

Bro I should send u some videos with battleground! Showing that skill and the specifications of the skill doesn't work as stated! I am a 3.2k barb played since the start as a barb and tbh blizzard has done nothing with the repairing the bugss in the game!
I think it happens in almost every server echo where one clan dominates everything

this has been happening on eu servers too top players moved servers because on 1/3 clans that are whale heavy
