I visited Eastbourne, Seven sisters, and Brighton in 2012 from Japan. Eastbourne is so nice and calm and great place. Thank you for reminding me of your stunning places.

Damn straight you’re lucky. I worked in hotels for two summers running in 1977 and 1978 during my college holidays. Had the best time of my life. My wife and kids don’t want to hear any more about Eastbourne because I talk about it all the time.
One pub in Eastbourne I would advise anyone to visit would be my local, the The Lamb in the Old Town. With the building dating from 1180, there are wonderful old wooden beams, especially in the back bar, and you can enjoy a lovely pint of Harvey's Best Bitter!
I leave in London - our favourite place for weekend away! Beautiful, peaceful place but full of fun, live music and nice and happy people!

Be wary of walking to the lighthouse along the beach, you could get cut off by the tide. It's also worth warning about the crumbling chalk cliffs, whether you're walking above or below..

@@silencelambs1238 Most people don't go out walking in thunder and lightning, unless the weather suddenly turns. But walking along any beach with high cliffs is always risky because there's no escape route if the tide comes in. The lifeboat service can't help either these days because they're too busy bringing in illegal immigrants.

We live in Eastbourne and ALL of the place you've shown are our favourites! During lockdown we have walked most of the ones highlighted. I do have a question ..... where was the fishing harbour you showed in the video. Love the video and proud to live here - one of the best places on the planet and I'm actually an Aussie! :)
Thanks! They are all great places to visit! The harbour was shot in another town but I used it as I didn't have any of the Eastbourne harbour haha! Its for sure a great place and glad I have lived here! :)
Hi, visiting these cliffs is my dream. But I'll need two days, since I'm not a great walker and do not drive. But, yes, I have to go there one day. In June this year I had a chance to see the Dover cliffs from the ferry. Loved them.

I was raised in Eastbourne but moved 50 years ago, living in London, the US, Australia and sailing around SE Asia. Having now explored the big wide world I just bought a house in Eastbourne to return home. Yes, Eastbourne can compare to the best in the world.

It's actually quite a unique combination - ocean, hiking, the cliffs, cool pubs, decent architecture and some of the better weather in the UK - all 90 mins from one of the best cities in the world. OK, it doesn't have the weather of the Costa del Sol but having suffered with the high temperatures and humidity of the tropics for many years, I will take the four season climate any day.

What planet are you lot on...Eastbourne is some kind of nightmare where you're trapped in a cheap holiday and the people are dozier than sleepy hollow.

My favourite is the Towner Art Gallery, one of the very best small art galleries in England. Oh sorry! You didn’t even mention it 😢 It has regular changing exhibitions, hosted the Turner Prize this year, and has a wonder collection of Sussex artists. It’s located in Devonshire Park, overlooking the famous tennis courts and next door to the Congress Theatre
People might like to know that some of the scenes from Brighton Rock (1947) were filmed on Eastbourne pier.

Living in Seaford Eastbourne is a great town with wonderful shopping and eateries galore, but the best part of the film is Cuckmere Haven and the famous Seven Sisters. One question I would ask is "Where did the 7 Sisters get their names from?

We go there for a little trip out, we're from London and live in Brighton. My little dog loves Seaford and Pevensey Bay beaches, but i think Beachyhead and Cuckmere Haven are possibly the most beautiful places i the world.
I am from Eastbourne and know those places very well, as we all do (Nice harbour, wherever that might be?). You missed out Pevensey bay, Pevensey Castle, Herstmonceux Castle, Alfriston and Drusillas Park, to name but a few places! Nice place to visit, but to live, is an acquired taste!
I'm going there tomorrow!!

ENJOYED THE VIDEO!! I enjoyed a great trek from Eastbourne to Beachy Head & East Dean then bussed back. BUMMER I hadn't studied up on Birling Gap before leaving Oregon USA or I sure would've included a visit there. BTW, since I was solo I didn't drop in for a meal but I did check out a most romantic, lovely restaurant/inn about 1/2 - darn, I didn't get the name but sill be sure to find it next time.

I got the videos from Pexels.com which has loads of copyright free videos, im not sure on the laws there as didn't actually have a drone!

I'm going to Eastbourne on Monday I can't wait I love the place have you done a video on places to eat I love the fish and chip shop qualisea I think its the best chip shop in eastbourne and for a sandwich and cake and cup of tea the victoriana tearooms on the pier is such a lovelynplace the sandwiches are freshly made and the cakes are do fresh they serve tea in a teapot and cup and saucer no mugs to be seen

With respect it is said as cook-mere not cuck-mere. Pity you didn't show more of Eastbourne instead of the lands around. Hampden Park and its lake is beautiful. Towner Art Gallery. Meads village. Hollywell Gardens. The Wish Tower, where the Eastbourne Air Show is staged from. so much more in the town. Eastbournian of 70 years.

Predictable.
Beachy head is great if you don't kind suicides. No1 spot in the UK for suicides. I've had two people I know end their lives there. The pier is dull, the arcade doesn't exist anymore. Birling gap and seven sisters are the better places, or just a walk along the downs. The town is pretty miserable, a lot of junkies alcoholics and an increase in homelessness which is a shame.
Wow. The pier does have an arcade and the town is far from miserable.
@@TheSeafordian I stand corrected on the pier's arcade then, must be fairly recent as the last one wasn't replaced initially after the fire. But I stand by fully, eastbourne town being a miserable place.

Last time i visited Eastb the police arrived in force cause a man was sitting on the edge (you know where)
