I live in Greenwich and I walk through the village and market almost daily - it is such a great place! love that you like it too as your 4th favorite ! :-)
I wish I could 'like' this video a second time. Fantastic information! We're visiting the UK very soon and have incorporated several of the markets in this video into our itinerary. Cheers!
This video is an absolute treasure trove for food enthusiasts and market lovers alike! Exploring the 10 best food markets around London, it offers a tantalizing glimpse into the diverse culinary scene of the city. From the iconic Borough Market to the vibrant Portobello Road and Greenwich Market, each destination promises a culinary adventure filled with international street food and local delicacies. I particularly appreciate the inclusion of lesser-known gems, such as dining in a church or by a railway, which adds a unique charm to the dining experience. The variety of settings, from bustling streets to serene green spaces, ensures that there's something for everyone to enjoy. The video not only showcases the mouthwatering bites available but also provides valuable tips on how to make the most of your time at London's bustling markets. Whether you're a local looking for new culinary delights or a visitor eager to explore the city's vibrant food scene, this video is your ultimate guide to experiencing the best of London's markets. Bon appétit and happy exploring! 🍽🛍🇬🇧
Living in London for more than 4 years and I found that I have not visited many of the markets in this video! I have a lot of catching up to do... BUT I do want to add to the list some of my favourites which are missing: Apple Market in Covent Garden and Canopy Market in Kings Cross (also nearby Coal Drop Yards which is kind of markety too?)
Thank you so much for your local market info. We went to Westborough mkt and LOVED it!! We could’ve spent so much money there. We went to your suggestion of Olivier Bakery and also Rabot Chocolate and spent a bit at both. We spent one day on our own in London and when we met up with our tour guide later in the evening to check in to start our tour we told him where we have been and he asked how we knew about the market and we told him it was all thanks to you. We will always watch you now for our trips abroad.
Markets were a highlight of our Oct 2023 London trip. Borough Market absolutely amazing. Greenwich very fun. Covent Gaden, Camden, Seven Dials, Spital Fields all different and nice. Borough was our favorite and we ended up there 2X. Thanks to Suitcase Monkey!
Yes! A new video! So excited to watch all your England videos again before we arrive in September for 3 weeks. But besides that, I have so much fun watching all of them! Great job and love the humor!
Hello Suitcase Love the video. We have been to all the markets you listed. Rope walk market was just a shell of its self when we visited in September do to Covid so it is still on our to visit list and are adding Mercato Mayfair market. Borough market is our favorite market we go there every time we come to London. Everyone who is coming to London should visit these markets. Thanks for a great video. Chris and Sandra of Canada.
I am visiting London for the first time later this year, and have found all of your videos so helpful and fun! Thank you for the great recommendations.
I'm glad I went to Camden Market for the first time. I went there earlier in June 2022 with someone who helped me discover this place and I fell in love with it! Unfortunately, I live in the northwest; otherwise, I would visit Camden often.
Having lived and worked in London for 10 years, now moved back to the East Midlands where I am originally from, I did regularly go to Borough Market and Camden Market. Occasionally went to Portobello Road, Greenwich and Spitalfields Markets too
Great video! Leadenhall Market near Monument tube station is another amazing market in London that a lot of people haven't heard of. It dates back over 700 years and has some stunning architecture!
LOVE these suggestions!! and I love the backwards bit at the end!!! Do more of that at the end of your videos. SUPER fun! 😊👍 Always love your videos when they come out.
Nice review and a couple I hadn't heard of but will explore. I am a Londoner who now lives in Yorkshire but work near Liverpool St a few days each month. Spitalfields is a good call, bustling at a lunchtime and expect big queues for the popular places. Petticoat Lane has some great food stalls too and minutes away from there. The falafel stall, one of three, at the end with the longest queue is well recommended. Spitalfields comes alive late morning and is very quiet from 4pm. We always pay a visit to Portabello Road as there's a bit to see other than the food stalls, some shops and quirky pubs. Camden used to be a favourite but less so in recent years as it's become more commercialised. I remember visits to Prince's shop and having a drink in the café upstairs. I remember the old Camden, pre-market fire and I guess it doesn't have the same allure any more. Still worth a visit for anyone new and will keep people busy for hours. Borough market is well worth a visit too. We often take a walk along the south bank, cross at Southwark bridge or the bendy bridge and then walk through past the Clink etc onto Borough market. Depending when you go a lot of stalls will close quite early but there will still be places to be found. Nice to finish off with a gelato at Gelateria 3BIS, amazing.
Thanks for the helpful guides! Just want to let you know - looks like there’s a typo for “Maltby street Market” showing up as “Malty street market” in the description box and YT generated subtitle at 5:26. I figured it out after all!
Harriet and I have been travelling to London for years as we have relatives who live in Cambridge. You can't go wrong with any of The Markets you showcased. You did choose the best. Great Video. All the best😍😍 Harriet, Jim and Yuki. Richmond. Va.
I had the span of one week to explore London's markets - and I did not get a third of your suggestions. The pop-up markets are closing at late afternoon and if you have schedules because of pre-booked attractions, you won't be able to get a taste of all of them. But it's still fun and fascinating what's on all these markets.
I've been to London many a time and always end up eating at the chain restaurants. Love videos like this to find some new exciting places. Can't wait to go back to London now
Great video, we went to the Church Market, (Mercato Metropolitano) in Mayfair straight after watching thanks for the heads up 👨 Had two amazing Malaysian dishes from Spice Lab upstairs.
Fantastic video! This is the type of content I look for when planning my travel. The lesser known jewels! Love your channel and enjoy your wit! Thank you!
Wowoo! A happy useful click, and hands down, one of the best on London markets to browse in. Thank you 🙏. Will be down next week and must visit Rope walk and the one inside the church. PS. For previously visited mkts , my favourite is Camden market. Who knows, after next week I might have to decide otherwise..🤔😁 Have just subscribed too😍😀
I just found your channel and I'm hooked! My daughter and I are crossing the Pond in September and your content has played a huge part in the planning of our trip to London. We plan to visit Bath and York, also.
Great video! Great job! Thanks for your help in choosing the "best" food markets. Having said that, on 12:27 you say: "the sellers of the food here and the producers of the same food, like the fishermen..." That's a romantic tourist vision but really naife... Can you imagine a fisherman all day awake to catch the fish and 8h working in the market selling it? 😅
Such a 'feel good' video❤, just two months in London and already ticked two markets out of your list...rest in my bucket (née, pocket 😂) list. Cheers with the ramen burger 🍔
I've seen "Notting Hill" and "Bridget Jones' Diary" before, and so I get the concepts of their respective markets! I even learned from the web that The Globe Tavern is the pub above which Bridget Jones' "flat" was filmed! Also, I had already heard of Seven Dials from Samuel and Audrey's 24-hour travel guide to London, but I did NOT know about Seven Dials MARKET until I watched THIS video tonight. (The market didn't open until 2019; Samuel and Audrey released their 24-hour travel guides in 2018.) I also read on Wikipedia that Petticoat Lane Market, a market in Spitalfields, is where the video for the 1980s hit "West End Girls," by Pet Shop Boys, was filmed.
Loved it! I really enjoy watching videos about markets and what you can find there. Keep it up! An idea: A hidden gem video would be fun to explore the less known, but interesting nooks of London, with a bit of historical insight. Thanks!:)
Your voice sounds like one of those on BBC news or NatGeo documentaries 🙂 great video! Not planning on going to London soon but I’ve been watching a lot of London markets on YT 😂 maybe its a sign!
8:50 i really love these flowerpot balconies they are found all over europe specially italy. can anyone tell some good variety that i can search in my local nurseries. almost all the balconies have flowers in them.
Been to all except the Mayfair one and the small rope walk one, may have to check them out. Apparently London fields has great saturday ones and when i lived in London way back 2004-2009 i lived on the high st of Walthamstow which had amazing cheap grocery markets with cockney blokes yelling 'pound a bowl' from 6am. Of course the area is gentrified like most of London now so may not quite be as authentic and probably more like £5 a bowl these days.
Great video, really appreciate this, I have been living in Greater London for 15 years now but didn’t know about this (feeling little guilty). Will definitely try, thanks again.
Is that Pimp my Ramen still there? I went there before the pandemic as my mate who lives in London recommended going to that market. Those Ramen burgers are superb! I enjoy your channel, you helped me decide that I can make my own channel with all the vids how to start by just using a phone.
Hey that’s great to hear! That part was only filmed about 6 weeks ago so yeah I would imagine. It’s just outside the main square on a side section. Enjoy!
Well, that was certainly food for thought. Sorry couldn't resist it. Not been to London for a long time but that's made me decide to visit soon. Great job.
Please explore the markets outside of Zone 1 along the Elizabeth Line. Are there any gems where it's a genuine mix of produce and cooked foods? Something that's got the vibe of the old North End Road Market in Fulham. In fact, the new North End Road market still has a buzzy vibe about it.
Great vid guys! This has me extremely nostalgic for my time in London. I love it here in Canada, but maybe I should book a little trip back for a foodie tour real soon 😉from the Johnston Canyon orange beanie guy, finally commenting on a video!

Yes I almost included Coal Drops as been a couple of times and really enjoyed. Haven’t been to Canopy so will check out thanks!

Ah yes good one. I covered that area in another video but not from the food point of view.
It looks like London has been changed so much sinceI’ve been there many years ago, that is incredible!
Samosas , ofcourse the best snack for anybody. Was very thrilled when you mentioned it's your favorite too. Lots of love from India
LOVE these suggestions!! and I love the backwards bit at the end!!! Do more of that at the end of your videos. SUPER fun! 😊👍 Always love your videos when they come out.

Wow! Definitely putting some of these on my list if/when I get back to London. Awesome info! Thank you.
Thanks!
Thank you my friend!
By far the best food market in London is Leather Lane, but its only open on weekdays for the workers. Also petticoat lane is an honourable mention
Great sense of humor and interesting videos. I enjoyed it very much.
Thank you!
I've been to London many a time and always end up eating at the chain restaurants. Love videos like this to find some new exciting places. Can't wait to go back to London now
Never eat at chain restaurants in UK. We have such great independent restaurants that are so much better than the chains.
They are a million times better than chain restaurants crap
I can’t believe I’ve only ever been to 2 of these and barely heard of the others :0 thanks
Wow London looks so gorgeous

I really like your videos. Very Informative and gives us ideas on where and how to travel.
Thanks
Bricklane has a good vibe and variety lots and lots of stalls as well as regular stores and a short walk to Spitalfields

May b the 1st sponsored section I didn't skip on a RUclips video 🤣
Except Mercato Mayfair, enjoyed all other markets. Thank you so much this video, made my trip worthwhile.
This makes me miss London so much...

Gosh! This is very good. Just shown part of London that I have not seen. Thank you.
You’re welcome 😊
I love the food markets! Can't wait to go to London and try them out .
Great video, really appreciate this, I have been living in Greater London for 15 years now but didn’t know about this (feeling little guilty). Will definitely try, thanks again.

Thanks a lot!!!
Can you do a London video for those of us who travel in the winter, a more budget friendly and less crowded time of year. Thanks

Also loved the way you talked about Surfshark 😂 it worked 👍🏼
Hehe thanks
I recommend Mercato Metropolitano!
Thanks for the recommendations and the details in the information ❤
Well, that was certainly food for thought. Sorry couldn't resist it. Not been to London for a long time but that's made me decide to visit soon. Great job.
Love your videos!
Thank you Christine!
I was wondering what was inside that church in Mayfair and why people were going in and out, and now I know!
I am in love about each part of this city! Nice vídeo ❤️
Loved it! You made me sooo HUNGRY!!!🤭🤭🤭
Always love your videos; they look, smell and taste wonderfully plus informative! ! ✌️

Thanks for sharing
This is a great video, thank you!
